It's probably a good idea to bring at least $20.00 if you plan on stocking up on produce. The produce is always so fresh and flavorful. I'd highly recommend getting some sugar snap peas when the summer season rolls around. They are so sweet and crunchy. I've also bought many other things like cheese curds, honey, maple syrup, flowers, and baked goods. Everything is such great quality. Parking can be difficult to find, so I'd recommend going to the farmer's market right when it opens. You'll also get better pick of the produce if you head there right at 8:00 a.m. The farmers market was located along the river years ago and I wish they still held it there. The parking lot that it is currently held in can get a little cramped. You're also ushered clockwise around the loop, so you can't really go back to a booth without making another whole lap.

I went over to another farmers market a few miles south to give them time to get rolling and I would return. I returned around 9:30 and to my amazement it didn't any bigger really but I walked around it and saw coffee stand, soap, two food stands, lots of flower, lots of leafy greens and root vegetables, jewelry, meat and cheese stand. I think maybe 25 stands at the max and absolute no fresh fruits at all. This was a pretty small farmers market with no fruits on my visit and I ended up leaving empty handed and I probably will not return because the Milwaukee area has a couple better farmers market options.

The location is between 54th and 55th on Washington Boulevard, so right in the middle of the neighborhood. This was the first market day and it was great to see how well attended it was. There were roughly 20 stands, mostly local crafters. Vennture was pouring beer, Charles Fromage had wine and snacks and Heirloom brought the food truck. There was even a fashion bus which was fun. I left with a few candles from Fern and Leaf and had a good time. I'd love to see some produce suppliers at future markets, and maybe another food truck.
