We absolutely love our local farmers market!!! It is not the biggest or most expansive but it's very chill without long lines which I really appreciate. We love the vendors and enjoy the food stalls in the summer. We always pick up a fresh loaf of bread and honey from two of the vendors. The market is a convenient and lovely touch to our neighborhood and I'm very appreciative to the vendors and organizers! read more

The Riverwest market isn't the largest one around, but it has real neighborhood feel to it. There are generally several merchandise/art vendors along with a few produce vendors, some bakery stalls and a few ready-made food sellers. I've never seen it crowded which makes it quick in and out. Parking in the area can be tricky, but there's usually a spot somewhat close to the one block market area. Recently there's been a killer biscuit maker on site and a cool mushroom seller, as well as a cheese booth with lots of options on hand. Worth checking out. read more

Pretty basic farmers market. They do have a few unique items such as seeds (I didn't stop to ask too many questions), meat cuts (packed in coolers), flowers (which aren't so unique...) a lady with a small guitar singing and a tarot card reader (I paid $5 for 3 cards). I'd recommend stopping by if you are in the area. Be sure to look through the tables before you buy. Some have better table spots than others and get pretty picked through. I bought some jalapenos that were at the bottom of the bucket only to find buckets full elsewhere in the plot of space -- the jalapenos were still great tasting nonetheless. Again, not super elaborate but worth a stop if you are nearby. The tarot card reader was a fun twist! read more

This is a very cool little farmer's market in beautiful, ghetto adjacent, Riverwest. Whether you are looking for fresh produce, yummy baked goods, some handmade jewelry, or some homemade jam, this is the place on a Sunday during the warm months. There is often live music. It's usually pretty good. They accept EBT (Foodshare / Quest cards) for food stuff! Dig it! I try to stop by every week. I got the best strawberries I have ever had there a couple months ago. read more

Sticking with four stars on this one, but I feel that an update is necessary since it's been just shy of two years since my initial review. The Riverwest Gardeners Market has grown. Look at you, market. You're all grown and whatnot. Seriously: whereas back in 2011 there were maybe 6-7 vendors present on the regular, most of whom were selling produce and flowers, now it's all pickled items and locally-made soap and gluten-free bakery and grass fed meats/cage-free eggs in addition to that fantastic produce and those super-pretty flowers which I never spring for anymore. I will at least once before the season's over. (They have raised their prices on the flowers, though. Just sayin'.) Glorioso's had a tent here this past Sunday... love it! The market's still full of charming eccentricities, however. (Read: Luke R's review) There's always live music, there are always folks just hanging out, enjoying the weather and the neighborhood itself, the friendly folks and the laid-back vibe. What a wonderful concept, on Saturdays both a farmers' market and a vending space for local gardeners. Local gardeners and average folks can rent a space and sell their produce and goods here, giving it a truly community feel. They have local and community vendors that sell fruits, vegetables, honey, baked goods, cheese, and flowers. Check my legitness: I stroll to the Riverwest Gardeners Market from my back cottage house located on the Riverwest 24 route. I hold a locally roasted & freshly brewed coffee from Colectivo in one hand. In the other, I hold my girlfriend's hand. She's got tattoos. Moreover, she's got a sleeve tattoo of a pre-WWI piece originally painted by an Austrian Symbolist. Plus she swears. My beard smells of fire pit & gin from the night before. I hardly even have a hangover because I regularly nurture my relationship with the gin. We respect & love each other, both the gin & my girlfriend. I'm pettin' dogs. I'm pickin' up locally grown vegetables. I'm hearin' a banjo. I'm smellin' bunches of flowers. I'm learnin' about the processes of artisan soap making & the differences between varieties of heirloom tomatoes. I'm chattin' with a farmer who's in her 20s & used to work at Comet. She also has tattoos. I don't have tattoos. But I do have two bikes & a shitty car. It was a fun time. People at the market always seem friendly. There's a wide variety of stuff. Various types of honey that you can sample. Lots of fresh fruits & veggies. Jams & jellies. You can even buy crepes or jewelery. There's a lady selling fresh eggs & taking orders for grass fed meats. You can buy sweets like cookies and such. There's an impressive selection of fresh flowers. I saw an old guy reading & underlining from like four books. Some dude in a shiny gold cape ran across the street & into the laundromat. It's a good time & the stuff is pretty cheap & very good quality. Stop by & be friendly with the people of Riverwest. The Public House is next door if you want to grab a beer. read more

It's not the biggest farmer's market, but it is by far the most convenient. I have been having trouble making it to Saturday farmer's markets all summer (ah, the life of an event planner). Since remembering this was open on Sundays, I have been three weeks straight. Vendors are nice and friendly. Sometime I'm going to go with a friend and just hang out in the park listening to the musicians perform while nibbling on some Wildflower Bakery treats! Oh, and the hours kind of rock. 10 am to FOUR. Leaves plenty of time to run errands either before or after, attend a place of worship or sleep in. Whatever way you rock it, you can still make it. read more

I've yet to make it to the market this year. Hopefully that will change for the rest of the season as I am now down with classes; weekly homework assignments had been tying up all of my Sundays recently. So speaking for the visits I've made from the past two years....I really like this market! It's fairly small, but there's a great variety of produce, flowers, jewelry, and other homemade goodies. They have local musicians playing in the afternoons. They accept WIC and Quest. They're just a great presence in the neighborhood. read more

I'm a huge fan of farmer's markets, and this one did not disappoint. This is a great little market in Riverwest with a great selection of produce, baked goods, and other items for sale. The prices were great, the food is really fresh, and everyone was super friendly. I would have given it 5-stars, but none of the vendors were selling fruit when I went this weekend. However, I will definitely be going back! read more
