Upon entering, smiling, and saying hello, I was glared at so intensely by the two employees that were working that I did a double take because I was so taken aback. AWFUL CONSIGNMENT. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!! I consigned with them in May and had questions about my payment. It took me OVER A MONTH to finally get an answer from Dayna in accounting and she still hadn't answered my question. I emailed her 4 times and STILL nothing. I had to email the PRESIDENT of the company, Lynne who finally got back to me. And still Dayna was dismissive and unpleasant. Their customer service is substandard and they are not professional. Do not support this business! They never paid me for the clothes I gave them (which included name brands like Theory) and I'm sure sold them and kept the profit. read more

My favorite Greene Street shop is right in the heart of Lambertville, NJ. I don't think I have left here without at least one great find. And I come here every time we are in Lambertville. My MO is I always head straight for the clearance racks first. I found fantastic dresses, pants, jackets, skirts etc for anywhere from $3-$9. However, this last time I noticed they aren't keeping all the clearance items in the shop anymore. Now, you have to go online and find out where they are holding a clearance sale off site.... I am definitely not a fan of this idea. But I guess they don't have the room in the local shops to stock so much inventory I will still check this store out when I am I town. read more

Bad reviews very rarely come from me, but this is an exception. When you enter a shop for the first time and inquire about how it's run, as I did today, and you're told by an employee behind the counter that everything you need to know is on their website ( twice), you head for the door and never return. The place was empty, too. The words and attitude of this employee were rude, condescending, and dismissive. It was made clear to me that they didn't need my business. I went in with high hopes of establishing a business relationship with this company and after selling a couple of my moms very fine pocketbooks for about $50 I went to gather my earnings. The woman replied, you have earned $1.70. I said out of almost $50 of sales that doesn't make sense. After she did the song and dance about all that consignment, subtractions and fees and etc. I realized it all added up to theft. Review as a customer (not a seller)! I love consignment shops. As a graduate student/Adjunct Professor, I highly value them. I need to dress professional, yet trendy, and feel good in the clothing I wear. I'm a huge fan of quality over quantity, so I have certain brands that I love...but don't put a huge DENT in my wallet...or more like hole in my purse hahaha. Greene Street to the rescue my lady friends! Sorry, gentleman. This is a girls only club. ;) Perhaps you can shop for your wife, girl friend, sister, daughter, etc., though :) Clothing selection is fantastic. I've gotten several skirts and tops and dresses here. Brands such as Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor the Loft, Lord and Taylor, J-Crew, Banana Republic, etc. Prices are unbeatable. I've gotten tops from 10 to 12 dollars and skirts from 10 to 20... all which you would find in the Loft for hmm 60 to 80 dollars. The price difference is unbelievable. The thing about consignment shops is DO NOT let the fact that this is used clothing prevent you from browsing. Most of the clothes look like they have never been worn. I get the feeling that many people purchase items, don't like them, never wear them, and in return off to the consignment shop to resell.... and in return people like me get them at great prices and look all fancy! tee hee! They have dressing rooms in the back. Nice and roomy. No one is pressuring you to hurry it up, so to speak. All unwanted items are placed neatly on the wrack outside... I never walk into a dressing room with clothes piled all over the floor. Dresses, skirts, tops, pants, are all organized in each isle, by size. Don't miss the clearance wrack!!!! Shoes and purses are also sold here! HUGE shoe selection... I haven't browsed it yet... next time! My only reason for 4, not 5 stars, is two things. One, the store is a bit small. It is located in downtown Lambertville, so the space isn't something that you can really blame Greene Street for. Also, if you are a larger person, it will be hard to find your size or anything at all. Most of the clothing range from XS to L, but even the large seems to be a medium. My mom isn't a very big woman but she has never found anything here. You really need to hunt for the larger sizes if they exist. Luckily, I'm short and I wear sizes from extra small, to small, and from 2-4. I'd say, if you are a size 0 to 8, you will definitely find some nice clothing here. The owners/staff are friendly, but not overwhelming friendly. That's also a meh. I have a favorite consignment shop closer to where I live and the owners are just fantastic. Don't get me wrong, the staff here is friendly. They just aren't warm and fuzzy. Overall, though, for a shopper such as myself, you can't beat the price for the quality of clothing. They earn 4 stars because that meet my needs and my wardrobe from this store is growing and LASTS! Quality. I've gotten so many compliments on skirts and stops from this place, too. I have sold items here several times. It seems the high end designer items like Dior Tods Fendi etc just seem to disappear and are not listed in my sold receipts. Other sellers seem to have same complaints. Beware of selling high end goods without making sure you have a secure pick up date and item not stolen from you. read more

Lambertville is such a beautiful town! I happened upon this cute shop and was pretty happy with everything I saw inside. Beautiful dresses, coach purses, and tons of shoes(not a whole lot of size 10 though..) The prices varied, but everything I was interested in seemed very reasonable. Awesome selection of mostly high end and some funky pieces! Doesn't seem like a consignment store at all but rather a clean, organized boutique. I've purchased some really unique pieces here I wouldn't have been able to find at a mall or anything like that. Very poor experience, both as a consignee and a customer. First I have shopped there for many years now and have consigned high end merchandise with the company for the past two years. At a pick up of the items that were not accepted a sales person gave me someone elses clothing as well. I was told that my items were selling, but never received a check. When I reached out to the company received two different emails: one stating that the check will arrive withing 10 days and a second email a day later stating that the check was mailed and cashed already!!! What???? It is very sad to see that there are companies so disorganized and careless out there. As a customer I do not get any customer services...very reserved and full of sizing up. Selection here is not as good as that at Bryn Mawr and Manayunk but the store itself is better organized. They do have a nice stock of designer handbags although their jewelry and designer shoes selections are a bit limited. The clearance section (all the way in the back) is also larger than Bryn Mawr's and Manayunk's; a lot of boots are under $10 right now. Service is very friendly and helpful; I love that they greet you with smiles and a "let me know if I can help you with anything?" I love and miss those good ol' days of manners and courtesy. The location is great; it's literally across the bridge from Main St, New Hope and across the street from Bucks Co. Coffee. Friend them on facebook to get a 10% discount. read more

I was ecstatic to discover this consignment store over the weekend while I was walking around Lambertville. I had heard of it (they have various locations in both PA and NJ) but never got an opportunity to venture out to one. The store is exceptionally great in terms of the layout and the organization. I find many consignment stores can be crammed due to limited space and be very unorganized which makes it a less enjoyable shopping experience; whereas this one is immaculate! They also have a huge clearance section all the way in the back of the store, so be sure to check it out (you may get lucky)! I also found the selection to be fabulous in terms of the styles, brands, and overall condition of their items. The prices are also surprisingly very reasonable considering. I ended up purchasing a Lipsy dress for only $18! There was a slight defect I discovered while trying it on and when I asked if they could apply a discount in any way, they kindly said no, which I respected although I believe they should have if they wanted to exceed my customer service expectations. Otherwise, I would say the staff was very friendly and approachable! I look forward to checking out their other locations and returning back to Greene Street Consignment whenever I'm in the Lambertville area! read more

As consignment shops go, Greene Street is fabulous. They have a few different locations -- in Lambertville, Philadelphia, Princeton, Bryn Mar, West Chester, and now Manayunk -- but I have only ever been to the Lambertville location. They have great selections and brands... Some out of style but most very current. I go there mostly for designer jeans at low prices, but have purchased some fabulous sweaters, dresses, shirts and even a great leather purse. It is my favorite place to shop in the area and I love going to just walk around the store (and usually end up with at least one item). They also have great coats... I purchased a beautiful Ralph Lauren peacoat there for about an 1/8 of the original price, and it is as good as new. The workers are very nice and aren't intrusive at all. Some people complain about the dressing rooms, which have curtains that don't alwaays close all the way... But most other consignment shops I've been in simply have a big open room to change in, so I think they are great. Remember to check the clearance racks in the back, because you can find real steals there --- last time I purchased a very nice shirt for $4! read more

Such a great find for consignment stores. I am so happy I went inside to browse. The store is very well-organized with more of a boutique feel than a consignment store. The selection of designers was impressive-on the day I went the selection varied from Lily Pulitzer to Michael Kors to Tory Burch with quite a bit of names like Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, and The Limited. Everything was very reasonably priced and looked brand new. There could have been more in my size but that's the downside to consignment stores-sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't. My review is as a seller. I took a large number of items for consignment at the end of August this year after a friend who consigned regularly recommended I try it. My items were largely department store brands, bridge luxury, and designer items. First, I recommend not taking more than (or much more than) the 10 item minimum that they require to review. They take the items into a back room and review them and then repackage the items they do not want. If you have many items, they do not disclose which items they have kept, only the number. I asked the woman reviewing my items if she could tell me which items they were going to keep, and she told me that it wasn't their policy to do so, but because I was a first time seller she would allow me to see the items. The woman was polite, so my comment isn't on service, but the policy. If policy is not changed, again I recommend going in with minimal items or a detailed itemized list that you can check your own items against. For the store owners -- this doesn't make you feel too good as a seller about letting items go and could likely be the cause for confusion from the other reviews. The policies on processing were explained to me, but two days prior to the day I was supposed to collect items Greene Street decided to pass on, I still had not heard from them. A quick call and the woman at the desk told me I should have received an email. I hadn't, so she sent it again. This time it was received. Greene street decided to keep all my items, so I didn't need to bother with pick up. If I hadn't received the email and my items were not kept, I might have missed an opportunity to get my things back. Workflow should be more timely here. If you say you are going to notify the seller then a communication should be received. None was, and according to the Greene Street policy, I guess it would have been my fault if I hadn't set a reminder to follow up. Again, service was fine, policy doesn't make the seller feel too good. Lastly, I have yet to receive a check for my items that were processed on 9/28. I called Greene Street earlier this month and they told me that the check had been processed just the day prior. It would be in the mail. Now it is over two weeks since the phone call and I have not received anything in the mail. Service was fine when I called. The woman I spoke to was helpful, but the slowness doesn't make me feel great as a seller. Based on this experience I won't be consigning with Greene Street in the near future unless there are some modifications to communication, policy and ownership of their own processes, and more efficiency with processing payment. read more

Pretty rude and lazy service here. This is why millennial's and people in this area have the reputation of always doing the bare minimum. I dropped off clothes over 2 weeks ago. I was told somebody would contact me within the week regarding pricing. Nobody contacted me and I had to contact this place 3 times. Finally, I said if I could please just have my clothes back. The girl on the phone literally said "oh I don't know, they're in the basement" and I said "so you can't just walk downstairs and retrieve the clothes for the customer?" She said "well there's a lot of stuff down there!" REALLY? Wow I was shocked. I asked to speak to the manager and she said yes you can come by and pick up the clothes but "it might take a while once you're here and you're going to have to wait for us to search for them". I then said, "um ok so how about you go down stairs after the call so by the time I get there they will be ready". She agreed and literally 5 mins later they called saying they had my clothes ready. It really wasn't that hard. Both of them seemed very annoyed they had to do the extra work by searching for my clothes and tried to get out of doing it. They were just being lazy and rude, doing the bare minimum at their job. Being a millennial and from the east coast, I am truly embarrassed by people like them who give people my age such a bad reputation. read more

I have consigned at this location 4-5 times so I am familiar with their policies. I came in today to bring in some fall items. The girl took the clothing to the back of he store and came out a few minutes later explaining why she couldn't take any of the items. She said there was some pilling in some of the the shirts under the arms- I honestly didn't see any. I told her I never wore the 3/4 sleeve Talbots T so it couldn't have pills and she said they get a lot of Talbots and were looking for dark colors. Ok - I kind of get that. She said they were looking for dark wash jeans- I had a pair of very dark Calvin Kelins in there., barely worn. I don't understand- they take forever 21 but won't take Loft, Ann Taylor, Talbots... The clincher, and the reason I will never go back, is when I put the clothing back in my car, my daughter noticed one of her shirts was missing- A Free People fall shirt. So , we went back in and told someone, who got the person who helped us. She brought the shirt out and apologized- very red faced and said she left it on a table . Customer Service 0 stars I went up to Lambertville and New Hope last weekend to check out the scenery, I heard it was cute artsy town and had some fun stuff to do. While walking up and down the streets my boyfriend and I came across Greene Street and they had some very cute stuff in the window so we went in. The lay out is great, very easy to navigate and you dont feel like you are overwhelmed by a massive amount of inventory that is hard to sort through (like most consignment/thrift stores) So far so good. But then this is where it gets bad. I found a bag that I liked but it seemed a little pricey to me. It was $42 and the same style bag on the designers website was going for $48. Also the bag I picked up had two little bleach stains on it and some frayed thread. Which at a thrift store like salvation army you just get what you get and you are also pay like nothing for it. But at a consignment shop you expect them to look over pieces carefully when they take them in and make sure they are good quality. So I mentioned it to the woman working there and asked if they could do a little something off the price due to it being over priced and the stains. The woman said they cant because its consignment and the person that gave it to them needs a minimum out of it so they cant lower it (I know how consignment works so I also know that the owner can still give the woman her minimum and take a slight price cut from her own pot). I was understanding, she told me no. What can you do, now its just up to me to decide if I want the bag or not. So while I was still perusing around the store to see if there was anything else I wanted I decided to check in while I was there on my yelp app. and low and behold a 10% coupon pops up for checking in there. It says basically to enjoy 10% off your entire purchase. (which is frustrating cause the woman said that "there was no way that we would ever give discounts ever") So I showed the certificate to her and she looked it over and said that she couldnt honor it because the owner never told them that certificate was up on Yelp and because they didnt know anything about it they can use it, and also that the print under it said "enjoy 10 percent off and buy your valentine a present." So her point was that since it was not valentines day that clearly that 10% was really old and that Yelp should take it down and that she couldnt honor it. So long story short I bought the purse. I liked it so I bought it. But after I left I looked at the fine print of the yelp coupon and it didnt have anything on it about it expiring. So I was upset. So I went back in and talked to a different girl that was working and told her what happened and why I was upset, and she was understanding and said that if I had showed her the coupon she would have given me the 10% off but since I already had bought the bag there was nothing that she could do about it. I was upset and I complained about the other girl and the whole coupon situation and how they could "Never give discounts because they are a consignment shop" but yet there is a coupon on Yelp for a discount and they didnt honor it. So she said that she would pass this onto the owner and give her my info and that she would give me a call (I understand that the sales girl didnt really know what to do with the situation.) I know its only 10% but its the principle of the thing. Well a week passed and I never heard from the owner. I waited on posting this review till I heard from her. I never did so that seals the deal on bad customer service. Besides that terrible interaction. The clothes are cute and besides that bag they actually seemed reasonably priced. But I dont give my business to people that dont care about their customers. I know she has a store on South St, in Philly too, and I just wont support the business. p.s. I noticed Melissa T. had a similar experience with a slightly damaged dress and they wouldn't budge on a discount. Just throw a 10-15% off in there every once and a while and have happier customers. You will make more money in the long run. Also Danan R. said that they give a 10% discount if you friend them on Facebook. So CLEARLY they can give a discount. I'm just saying. read more

This place is great! The prices are reasonable for the quality of the clothes you find; most of what they carry is either new or like-new. I always love finding the original price tags, even if they don't show the original prices. Definitely check out the shoes and clearance area!
