In June 2019, these folks did some fairly major renovations to my home. The quality of their work was excellent in all respects. They did what they said they would do, and they did it on time and on budget. So why am I writing these comments now, more than a year after the job was completed? Allow me to explain: A few days ago, I noticed a leak in a plumbing fixture that was clearly caused by a manufacturing defect. I called Pat Skelton, the new owner of Williams Home Center, and explained that I needed his help again. After describing the leak situation to him, his reply was immediate: "We'll take care of that," and they did--promptly--and at no cost to me. I fully expected to pay for this repair as Williams Home Center had already done their work more than a year earlier. What a pleasant experience it was for me to realize that there really are folks and companies "out there" who actually do stand behind their work. If you need home repairs or additions to your home, I recommend strongly that you consider Williams Home Center, Goldsboro, where professionalism and high-quality workmanship drive everything they do. I recently hired Abbey Carpet to remove the vinyl flooring in my living room and dining area which…read morehad been poorly installed by a contractor associated with a big box company. I should have gone straight to Abbey Carpet in the first place. My life would have been so much easier. They then installed carpet in a bedroom, a bonus room, a stairway, and the living room/dining area (open floor plan). The workmanship was excellent. There is a subtle pattern in the carpet and the installers kept the lines straight and matched them expertly. I know there are seams, but I can't see them. In addition to their good work, the owner is honest. I got an unexpected call from her saying that a small charge had been entered twice by mistake and that she had a refund check for the overcharge waiting for me. I never would have known if she had not called me. She could have kept the money--but she didn't. More businesses should be so ethical. That is the advantage of dealing with a local business which has not gotten so big ( like the big box companies)that it forgets to look out for its customers as well as looking out for its bottom line. I was extremely pleased by my recent experience with Abbey Carpet. I recommend them if you need carpet or other types of flooring.

After 2 months of trying to get a straight answer and resolution from the original contractor, I decided to look elsewhere. I found J & C Flooring on Yelp, a local family-owned business. The experience with J&C was quite the opposite: excellent communication, fast response for quote, competitive pricing, very knowledgeable, and the floor was repaired quickly and correctly. I am very pleased with the whole transaction and the results; I feel like a valued customer. Without a doubt, I will reach out to them again if I have more flooring needs.

Was given a quote after numerous times asking for it. When trying to arrange to have other items repaired in home and schedule installation, they just vanished. This is very unprofessional behavior, especially since I have a year's warranty on my flooring.
