What a great venue. Was prepared to be on the lawn as General admission but they have outdoor theater seats. You pick where you want to sit or if you want to be In the pit. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house and parking was close in a nearby area. read more

Then, basically, 'get the F out !' Then WHY start at 8PM ?!?! Why not 7, so a LEGENDARY Texas poet can put on a full show ?!?! ONE HOUR AND TEN MINUTES of awesome music, followed by "drink up, and gtfo !" Most of us in the crowd could absolutely hear it in REK's voice, he didn't like it either. I've been to a lot of music venues around the country and this one takes the cake. Outdoor venue that's not too big and not too small. Totally chill vibes. At the show, I went to, there were food trucks on site, and beer and nonalcoholic drinks for sale by the venue. Plenty of places to stand and to sit. Smoker section on stage right near the lake which caters to those who do that, but also is out of the way for people who don't. Bathrooms on site that were generally clean the entire night. Showing tickets and getting through security was easy and quick. Parking is available on site and apparently some people even tailgate for some shows. Such a great spot and I cannot wait to buy more tickets to concerts that are going to be playing here. Only sorry I waited so long! read more

This used to be a great place, then came Live Nation and their prices, fees, and everything that wasn't there when the city operated the venue. Limited or no local food trucks so whatever there is to eat is limited and pretty awful (nachos are a few chips slathered in CheezeWiz). Wilmington sold its citizens out for the sake of money (again), knowing that we have little choice if we want some decent live music. read more

This is an awesome outdoor venue with the beautiful view of the lake and all the trees. It's a smaller place but always a nice crowd for a good band. All tickets are general admission - there is a standing area in front of the stage and all the seats are first come. There is also a small lawn area on the side that he kids run around in. If you want a beer, don't stop at the front beer stand, go around the back to other stands so you can avoid the line. Also, like most venues now they have a clear bag policy. Can't wait to see another show here! read more

More live music in Wilmington please!! The amphitheater here is a midsize venue seating 1,000+ fans. No reserved seating, so some peeps stand, some sit, others constantly move about and change their view. I saw Dawes here (second time at this venue). The sound is great and the setting is excellent. With the trees and lake as a backsplash, it's a beautiful place to enjoy a live band. I would like to see more emphasis on the staff and security here. Parking is kinda weird, it's street parking, and grass parking, but a bit of a free-for-all with no one directing traffic. Security? Well, there were two people at the gate. With my phone and keys pulled out, I was asked "Don't have a knife on you, do you?" Inspected the keys in my hand, did not pat me down. They had a food truck serving up pizzas. I believe their concession stand served some food. The 2 beer tents I saw seemed to only take cash. $2 waters, $5 craft beer cans, not a bad deal at all! Love the venue, wish they expanded their reach to more diverse styles of bands and artists. read more

Before they sold out to Live Nation, this was the best venue. We had gone several times before Live Nation came in and ruined the entire experience. It used to be a small, affordable venue that had so many great artists. The last time I went during a Live Nation event, I ended up missing out on the first half because they were so unorganized, everything was severely overpriced and overcrowded and we ended up leaving early. If I'm paying the rates they want for a show, I might as well go out to Raleigh and have the full experience. Not to mention I can literally stand outside my house and hear live music from the new pavilion downtown. read more

This concert venue is the newest addition to the list of things I love about Wilmington, NC! I saw Jack's Mannequin play here a few weeks ago and it was simply an amazing concert (and not just because the band was spectacular as always). The venue is pretty small and in a random spot, so random that you have to park on side streets and subsequently feel like you are walking to some county park sized amphitheater as you approach. However, once you're inside you realize how awesome it is. Yes, it is somewhat tiny but this only fosters a more intimate vibe than most outdoor concert venues and lets you be closer to the act that you're seeing. There really is not a bad seat in the house, and you can always stand up near the front of the stage if you so choose. What really makes this such a great concert venue is the beauty of the surrounding area. As you probably guessed from the name of the amphitheater, it is indeed right beside Greenfield Lake. Thus, as you are watching the show and listening to music, you can gaze out onto the lake and the bordering mammoth trees complete with hanging Spanish moss. Talk about a picturesque concert setting! The show that I attended took place later in the afternoon, and thus we were treated to a sunset as the headlining act was on stage. Awesome. Of course, food and drink options are pretty limited given the size of the venue. There was one concession stand operating while we were there, and it provided the typical hot dogs, burgers, popcorn, and soda. This stand also sold some wine and some draft beer (looked like a stout?), while two other small stands were set up to sell bottles of Bud and Bud Light. Yes, it would have been even more amazing if some local drafts were available, but not even drinking Bud Light could dampen the experience that was had here! read more

This is an awesome place to catch live music in Wilmington. The outdoor layout and arena style seating is awesome - way better than other venues. It's a much more intimate experience than you get out of the larger stadiums. It's too small to pull in big artists, but I've caught a few of my childhood favorites playing here. Food and drink selections leave something to be desired, but as another reviewer stated: it's really easy to sneak in your preference. read more

Having the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater has made Wilmington an even better place to live. The line-up each season is filled with amazing bands that otherwise Wilmington would be unable to get. Dear Sir, I am writing this to you because last night I saw Bruce Hornsby And The Noisemakers at The Greenfield Lake Amphitheatre in Wilmington.Bruce possesses great talent and is a fantastic singer, an extraordinary musicion and basically an all around nice guy. Bruce is also one really phenaminol piano player! He opened up to a roar from the on-lookers and this crowd went out of control when he literally blew up the place with a kickin' version of "Big Rumble" that continued into a medley with two more songs. Bruce did an amazing job when he broke into a highly pumped up version of "What A Time".To close out the set which was over an hour and a half Bruce and His Noisemakers blew up as well as Chessboxer joining in and jamming together a rippen burning "White Wheeled Limosine". At first I thought that Bruce might not sell this place out but by the end there was a HUGE crowd including my EX and myself standing right in front of the stage and at a couple points I would turn around to see what the crowd looked like. At that point I realized that with all of the people in front of the stage dancing and what appeared to be not one empty seat! I will be trying tomorrow to get the actual amount of tickets that were sold but honestly I think it was! This Amphitheatre is definately an incredible place to see a show. You can either stay in the general admission seats or you can meander your way down to the stage and get the MOST closeup I ever think you will be to such a talented performer. Well, to top it off, there was a little quiet over the crowd and then all of a sudden Bruce burst out with "White Wheeled Limosine" which turned out absolutely incredible! If you weren't there I'm sorry. But, there is NO excuse that you can use to not go to a Bruce and The Noisemakers concert sometime in the near future! Sincerely, Stephen Toth Jr. read more
