It's my first time coming here, so it's also a first to witness a comedy showing, when you walk in you're greeted nicely with the asking of your ids. Whilst the warm lighting invites you in to see the rustic and relaxing atmosphere of the main bar room. With the slow pace music running through the speakers, welcoming you into take a seat on their leather or velvet love seats. I enjoyed viewing the performance of the comedian of the night. And the bartenders are very friendly, and I hope you enjoy the view from the bar. read more

The Dead Crow was a hoot!! We saw Mike Stanley for the late night show and of course he killed it. The openers had diversified humor that kept the crowd rolling. The intimate setting makes the room feel like family!! Great bar, lounge garden, and food truck outside! I believe the food trucks change regularly in support of local businesses. I enjoyed all three of the comedians who performed, especially the headliner. Server was efficient and unobtrusive throughout, wine pours were generous. I had another great experience lastnight at the 9:30 showing. That was the first time that I have been to a later showing. It was definitely a lot more crowded. There were three comedians before the headliner and that seemed like a little much. But the headliner was great! I love the bar area so much and the drinks are relatively inexpensive. Something was off with the staff lastnight, though. They weren't as friendly as usual. I take it as a bad night for everyone-hence the 4 stars. This is definitely one of my favorite things to do in Wilmington and I highly suggest going here. read more

Located in an obscure location in downtown Wilmington this club is easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. It is only marked with a door but once inside the club is in the basement which kind of adds to the ambiance. My date and I lucked out and got to pick out our own seats since we arrived early. Service was prompt and efficient without interrupting the show. Perfect entertainment for a rainy night! read more

Dead Crow, Wilmington's comedy club, is located on the main downtown "strip" close to all the bars, restaurants, shops and the riverwalk. They do not serve food (as of Summer 2019) but they do have a variety of cocktails, wine and beers. Every Wednesday is Improv Night, Thursdays are Open Mic and Friday/Saturdays are headliners. Headliners generally have 3-5 opening acts and they're almost better than the main act sometimes, so definitely come on time for those. The club gets really dark when the show starts and it's hard to navigate if you show up late, especially if your seats are not reserved. You can get your tickets online at $15 each. First time I came here I had very low expectations being that it's a small basement comedy club in little ol' Wilmington and tickets are only $15, but I was blown away at how much fun I had. The acts were all so different and my jaw was sore from laughing post show. My favorite act I've seen here so far is without a doubt Steve Byrne. The comics are generally pretty cool and let you come up and chat with them after the show. The staff here know how to balance staying under the radar to not disturb the act while also making sure everyone has full drinks in their hands, if desired. The drinks are average price for Wilmington downtown area, and nothing too fancy but not a total waste of money. I was a little bummed about the minimal wine selection - would love to see a Cab Sav come to the menu. Other than that, cool place and great spot if you're looking for an affordable laugh/nightout with friends. read more

Bar was nice. Love the vibe here. Only giving a 3 because no where that I found online said that the shows were cash only. I wish I knew that beforehand. It actually says "credit card accepted" on Apple Maps, but that's for the bar. They have an ATM, but like many of us I didn't have any bank cards with me. Bummer that we didn't get to see the show. Fantastic night! 3 comedians - ALL provided a hilarious show! Bo Johnson was an awesome headliner- all 6 of us laughed so hard we had headaches when we left. Tickets are reasonable, $18 for general admission and $28 for VIP. The most notable difference is that the VIP seating can be reserved prior to the show. VIP also has small round tables for your drinks and prime locations directly next to the stage. Whereas general admission is divided into three sections of the seating, approximately 10 to 12 rows deep and up to eight seats side-by-side. (This makes it difficult to get up for restroom breaks and catching the waitresses attention or moving around other guests to go to the bar to order your own drinks.) I've sat in both sections and definitely prefer VIP but some folks may not be comfortable being that close to the performers. Can't wait to go again. Parking is as would be expected in a downtown location in a very busy college town - not great but there are pay by the hour options within walking distance. They no longer serve food in the facility but do attempt to have on-site food truck(s) in the VERY small parking area. I appreciate the food option but greatly dislike the loss of parking options on-site because of the food truck(s). read more

Wow this is a great place. Best comedy club and experience I've had. It's more smaller and intimate than other big city clubs. Perfectly run from the door, box office, to the inside wait staff. If you spring for the vip tickets you get a table but the general admission are close to the stage as well. Restrooms were spotless, just saying. The 4 comedians were decent, two of them including the headliner were hilarious. None of them too dirty and raunchy like I've seen in Raleigh recently either. Totally recommend this place. Go to Wilmington, park only once, everything's within walking distance. Next have an early dinner and walk over/catch the early 7 pm show at Dead Crown. We were back in Raleigh for a nightcap by 11:30. Well done Wilmington. read more

This is the best comedy venue in town! Dead Crow brings big city talented comedians to Wilmington. Their comedy shows are very reflective of big city comedy shows too in terms of the structure, length, and ambiance. It's pretty cool that the comedians typically hang out at the bar after the show to chat with audience members. Dead Crow is very well managed too. The employees are very friendly and attentive. Their social media team engages well with the community. They display small business charm by truly caring about their customers' experience. The actual comedy room is quite large. You can get a good view anywhere in the room. The seating is comfortable with ample leg room. Checking out the event lineup of upcoming headliners and buying tickets are easy to do on their website. They set up the venue in a smart way because you can still enjoy the bar even if you don't intend to go to the comedy show. They typically have good drink specials too. I think they should get the word more out there that they're open for just drinks too...perhaps add "& Bar" to the end of their name? This truly is one of my favorite entertainment options in town so I'm really rooting for Dead Crow to continue to succeed and grow. read more

They definitely created a good comedy club feel but unfortunately Wilmington is off the beaten path for any type of consistent high level talent. You will get a couple good laughs in but it's not like you are gasping for air and falling out of your seat the whole time. It appears that they are now charging for VIP seating: Here in Wilmington that means you get a small table to put your drinks on. If not VIP, you are putting your drinks on the floor?? At least they have a true comedian on staff that came up with this idea...I heard at least 2 get kicked over and smashed the last time we were there! read more

First time visitor, seating anywhere allowed for great views of the stage. Service was attentive. The chairs were so uncomfortable though, that was the only real downside to the experience. It would be a really nice benefit to the customers if the owners considered upgrading the seating to chairs with more cushion, or even more support like a adirondack or rocking chair. It would make a world of difference. I kept shifting in my seat because it was so uncomfortable. Otherwise, perfectly nice venue. Admission price was reasonable, talent was excellent, and the food truck option outside was tasty. Great option for a date night! read more

The show was good. The guys behind us were loud and were talked to twice but no one did anything about it so it kinda ruined the show. Waitress was no good. We only ordered one drink and it never showed but everyone around us got their drinks. Made me think it was because we were brown and the people around us were white. Needless to say... this is one place we will never return to. 3 stars because the only good thing that came out of it were the comedians. Other wise I would have given it 1 star. read more

This place is the single best night time attraction in the Wilmington and surrounding area. My family is from the north east, we love comedy and enjoy improv and live shows all around the world. When he stumbled upon this comedy club in downtown we never imagined the high caliber talent the place draws and cultivated! It is a true gem of a find and thankfully our weekend date nights, out of town guests and special occasions are filled with laughter that makes you cry, pee your pants and sometimes ask yourself, "Have I been living under a rock?!" Every talent here is fresh, honest and engaging - we've never been disappointed. Food and beverage options are unlimited and anyone can be satisfied. We prefer the late show only because the crowds tend to be a little less stiff and that makes a better performance all around. The staff - ALL around are friendly, on point, attentive and detailed. We've never had a drink order messed up, or a reservation botched. I found this spot to be just "meh". Service was a little slow and delayed (took 40 minutes to get chips and guacamole because the "kitchen was backed up"). We also ordered pizza rolls and it was served with a pathetic number and they were burnt! Beer prices are totally reasonable and on the cheap side. We attended a show last night at the new location and we were not impressed. The comedians where amazing but the set up is awful. There are no tables for you to put your drinks on or your food from the food truck that they have outside. It was very hard to hold our food and try to eat with it on our laps and having to put our drinks on the floor. I don't think you should have to buy a VIP ticket just to get a table. I really miss how the old set up was with tables. I am only giving two stars due to the seating issue. The staff and comedians were amazing. read more

Looking for a great night out in downtown Wilmington that doesn't break the bank? Look no further! I had an absolute blast here with my little sister. Sure, not all the jokes lands and the performers can be hit or miss at times, but during our show there were lots of laughs, delicious drinks and very surprisingly good food! I don't usually come to places like this for a meal but we were pretty starved and my sister raved about the food so I ordered a plate of nachos with my beer. First off, it was huge ( perfect for an hour and a half show). Second it was full of fresh ingredients, none of that canned cheese junk! For less than $10 (with chicken added) it was a great value! I can't wait to go back next time i'm in town! The lineup is always changing so don't miss out on some great laughs! Went last night for the first time. Really loved the place , the comedians were really funny, the place has a great vibe to it. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive always checking on us . We ordered the nachos and I wasn't super impressed......not real cheese, just processed cheese from a can. Just went back for our second time and this time we took our son and one of our daughters. The club was just as clean and cozy as before and the staff was still on point. What I noticed this time going to the first show on a Friday night is that it's less crowded which isn't necessarily a good thing for a comedy act. Performers feed off a crowds energy and the more people there are the less judgment a performer might feel with about 15 - 20 people the comedians (even the pro) seemed to be a tad off at times. Also it was strange but because I was there last week I noticed that 2 of the jokes that Alonzo Boden told were said verbatim by Yonis Popis during the show smh. Yonis Popis still did a good set and my family had a good time. We will be back when another good pro comes through. read more

Hot #1 was some amateurs, most were funny, The headliner was great hour#2 and the service was 1st rate .The food is REALLY bad though. The ground beef in the Burrito wrap made Taco Bell seem Gourmet! I have won tickets to four shows this year via text including tickets to last nights show with Dan Soder was one of the best shows I have seen at Dead Crow this year. I love this place because the opening acts are always different and the regulars always have new material. Last night was no exception and it was great to see all new acts which were so funny I couldn't stop laughing. Service here is hit or miss and last night was a joke. It got to be so bad that my date just started ordering from the bar. If you have read my previous reviews of this business you will know that I have never been fan of the food however I love love the atmosphere, it's hard not to have a good time at Dead Crow. The owner stepped on stage to introduce the first comedian, but not before encouraging everyone to order some drinks and to try the food as it's not a "comedy bar with food" but a "restaurant with comedy". I'll definitely give him that! They have a very creative menu with lots of gluttonous options to choose from. I went with the "As the Crow Fries" (+1 star for clever pun!) and it was so good! The slaw and pork combo on the fries were a great combination and really hit the spot. Plus it's big enough to share. Their drink specials were great too. I had a $6 jalapeno margarita which was great. The perfect blend of sweet, sour and a hint of heat. Then I switched to a $4 bourbon and diet that was also on special. There were two comedians that came on after the owner. Both were pretty hilarious and had the room booming. It's a great place to go with a few friends for a few laughs on a weekend night! read more
