Nice facility for a show in good weather. Lawn is well maintained and plenty big for the Black Keys show we attended. Rental lawn chairs are available and you can bring your own as long as they meet the venue specs. It's right along the river and sound system for this show was spot on. Throw in that Wilmington is a cool, pretty walkable, town with good places to eat and drink and it all adds up to five stars. read more

This was our first time attending a concert at Live Oak Bank Pavilion, and overall, it was a decent experience. Due to bad weather, we had to wait quite a while before they opened the gates. While I understand and appreciate the concern for safety--for both the performers and the audience--it was disappointing that there were no ponchos offered or covered areas provided for those waiting in line. Standing in the rain without shelter was definitely a turn-off. On a positive note, I give high praise to the performers. Despite the delay, they stayed and played, showing real dedication and professionalism--definitely not a bunch of divas. The lineup featuring Little Stranger, Iration, and Slightly Stoopid was fantastic, and their performances made the wait a little more bearable. As for the venue itself, the staff were organized, and EMS/Fire personnel were very visible and actively engaged, which added a sense of safety and security. The bathrooms were relatively clean and well-stocked, with two staff members assisting women with stall availability and supplies. However, the line was extremely long--possibly because there was only one restroom area with 24 stalls for the entire venue. If that's the case, it's definitely an area that needs improvement. All in all, it was a good experience, but the long wait to get inside due to weather--with no accommodations--brings my rating down to 3 stars. read more

The entrance process is disorganized. Mostly security staff yelling at you to get in different line. The entrance is too small for the capacity of this venue. There are no raised projection screens for lawn seats. Unless you have a seat you won't see the stage or performance. If it rains there are no covered areas. It's really disappointing. I used to work at a large amphitheater and Live Oak is simply missing the mark. read more

I recently enjoyed a show here for the first time, and it is a very nice venue. It's in a good location with ample parking decks within a short walk from the entrance, and entry was extremely fast and easy even with a big crowd. I think that is the fastest I've ever gotten into a concert venue and I was impressed. The main area is open lawn seating and this is my only complaint: I wish it were more of an elevated amphitheater shape and not a flat lawn, because that does limit visibility of the stage. Some people might counter "You should just buy better tickets!" but for me, I actually like the space of the lawn seating and it's not so much about price. The sound quality was great, loud, and easy to hear even from the lawn, and the rental chairs which were available were affordable and very easy to get (we pre-booked chairs to avoid carrying out own.) There is a large selection of food and beverages, and while they're of course expensive in a concert venue, they were slightly less expensive than I expected and everything was high quality. While there is an ample amount of bathrooms, I do wish they were closer. Unless there was a great shortcut I missed, the walk to the bathrooms takes several minutes by the signed path. The venue is nice, kept very clean by multiple attendants, and easy to enter and exit. I've seen numerous shows there and plan on seeing Bob Dylan the end of this month. I have only one complaint, and am echoing sentiments from a lot of other attendees. THERE ARE NO JUMBO TRONS!! How can an outdoor venue this size, I know it's not as huge as other venues, but the poor souls with general admission lawn tickets are pretty much left out of the experience! I have NEVER been to an outdoor amphitheater with big name entertainment that did not have numerous screens for the unlucky general admission folks. This is a major drawback for many people I've spoken with. I think for the sake of the public and fans who pay sometimes quite a bit of money to see these artists should be able to actually SEE them!! I feel the powers that be managing and making tons of money from these events should at least have a few screens installed so the concert goers can enjoy the experience fully! So Allison Krauss and Union Station were great. The venue needs a lot of improvement. 1. More tickets were sold than seats. I could not sit in the seats I bought. 2. Unless you are in the first 10 rows do not bother with this venue. Folks drink too much and walk back and forth making it nearly impossible to enjoy the music. 3. The staff have more fun than the concert attendees. They laugh, talk, and plays throughout the event. 4. It was like being in a bad tailgate party where folks were inebriated and loud and well messy. 5. I have been to many concerts in many venues and this place is not about the music. It is about drinking, being seen, and just having a night out. If you are going for the music skip it. read more

Very nice venue. Was in town for a brunch festival and plenty of open space. Had very clean and plenty of bathrooms. Saw a worker constantly cleaning every time I went in, which was appreciated. I got lucky enough to get free parking on a surrounding street, but I think closest parking was abt 10min walking distance and was $10. read more

Bring your wallet! $20 a beer hurts, but otherwise, the venue is exceptional. I recommend you don't buy the VIP ticket (the one that allows you in a bar and bathroom... you'll only end up spending $100 more than everyone else to stand in the same line). Makes no sense when the venue doesn't control access areas. Concert was great, venue was great. I'll be back for sure. read more

What a wonderful venue. The lawn was 100% the way to go. The sound was incredible, and the volume was really nice being so far back. Our seats were great and we had plenty of room to ourselves to dance or sit in our couch style beach chair. There are plenty of drink stations and nicely kept transportable bathrooms (not exactly a port o potty because they flush). Everyone working the event was really nice. And we enjoyed walking the Riverfront on our way to and returning from the show! read more

I attended a concert a few weeks ago. The staff was helpful, I was glad to see free water cooler stations easily accessed. The venue was clean and well organized. We had seats up front-we enjoyed during the warm up band- but when the concert started we had to stand in order to see. I do think the amphitheater (esp the seated area) should be a bit steeper of an incline to allow for better sight lines. This was a little too flat, in my opinion! But --- it's WIlmington, good parking, good pre show dining options, and great views.. read more

I am sad to report that this is one of the worst places I've ever seen a live performance. The staff was great but the pavilion itself is so poorly designed that the crowds of people are smushed together into very small strips of the grass to see the stage. There was a tent in the middle of the grass blocking the view and two bar carts with HUGE OBNOXIOUS signs blocking the left and right sides of the stage. Who designed this place? It obviously wasn't to cater to guests. The cheapest drink was a $4 water (outrageous, especially for a family). The other drinks were so exponentially overpriced. One beer cost more than our concert ticket! With a few small adjustments this could be a really great venue. A lot of other reviews say that they layout and view of the stage are obstructed. I hope someone will read these and make changes. read more

I attended the Sublime concert lastnight and was extremely excited to have such a large venue in Wilmington. In the past, I have had to drive to Raleigh for shows at this capacity. The stage is big, and the background is beautiful boasting Cape Fear River views. They have nice bathroom facilities, and a very large lawn area. There are concessions and a ton of alcohol vendors. My biggest complaint and it is a BIG one is the HUGE tent in the middle of the lawn. You literally cannot see the whole stage from 50% of the lawn. I also have no idea why they would have a vodka lemonade stand in the front middle of the lawn. A ton of people were complaining. I think this venture is a very nice addition to the Wilmington area but whoever put a tent right there needs to take it down. read more

Got to enjoy the performance of Glass Animals here! I love this new pavilion and thought they did a great job building it. I enjoyed the vendors with the different drinks you can get but did not like the vendor on the lawn in the middle of the grass so if ur standing behind it you cannot see the stage. I sat up on the hill and had a great view of the sunset and the stage. You did have to show if you are vaccinated or have a negative covid test to get in. Also you cannot bring in bags but they let you check it and take a picture of your bag so you can identify it later when you pick it up. I thought that was rather weird but it worked fine for me read more

The stage is nicely done...they really need to put in a couple large video screens so people on the lawn can see the concert. Enforcing the 9" chair rule is worthless. EVERYONE stands through out the concert so nobody sits anyway. But even standing up on the lawn, it is extremely difficult to see the stage....MUST PUT IN ADDITIONAL VIDEO SCREENS. read more

Be careful! I used my debit card on their food and drinks and was double dipped on a big charge. I tried to call the number my bank gave me to dispute it and it wasn't the right company, so I called the venue in Wilmington and the guy in charge of the venue never called me back. So now what? The venue is nice but You can't pay cash for anything and now I'm stuck. read more

Glad to have big names in Wilmington but this venue is poorly organized. No chairs taller than 9" inches, but nobody told us! We sat in the grass, no chair rentals. Concession stand is right in the middle of the view of the stage if you're on the lawn. One way in and one way out. Mad house trying to leave. I was excited at the thought of this venue coming to downtown. I attend quite a few shows each year. I was extremely disappointed when I went and saw what everyone was talking about. There is no parking nearby, an extreme lack of bathrooms, way overpriced drinks and of course the concession stand right in the center of the view from the lawn. It feels like they were in a rush to put something together and did not put much consideration into the guests experience. Honestly they should have modeled it after Greenfield lake which is a much better venue to watch a show. read more
