This place is ok- for the number of good reviews, I expected a bit more. The whole office is outdated and the exam cushions for the kids are falling apart. While this place rewards the kids with a coin for the toy machines and kids do like the system, it's a tiny choking hazard junk. Drs are fine- techs are ok too but did give me a bit of attitude for declining X-rays on my 3/4 year old. Personally, if my kid has no injury or problem with tooth, an X-ray while usually safe to do, gives no useful information that they would actually need, still would just do cleaning and visual exam. It wouldn't change the course of the exam or have anything to do until child gets older. I didn't like the attitude so I won't be returning. read more

If I could triple the amount of stars I would. Dr Lu and his team were a blessing to our daughter. She had several cavities due to health challenges as a toddler. Several dentists we visited insisted on general anesthesia and what we saw as overly aggressive treatment plans. With Dr. Lu we felt heard and were offered a more reasonable plan that avoided general anesthesia. We fully understood that general anesthesia was a possibility but were grateful for him pushing a stepwise approach. He was able to correct the most serious cavities using only inhaled nitrous oxide and, as he predicted, the remaining cavities eventually began correcting themselves with an aggressive at home dental plan With other pediatric dentists we felt dismissed and more like a just a payment rather than considering legitimate concerns with general anesthesia on a child for dental work. Dr. Lu was attentive, confident and able to deliver exactly what our daughter needed. Could not recommend this place more read more

Recently discovered Greenhaven pediatric dentistry through Yelp and the reviews NEVER lie. This place is wonderful. Most importantly, they were extremely patient with my son and his sensitive gag reflex when taking X-rays. The care he received was friendly and thorough. Most all pediatric offices have some type of entertainment for the kids and this is no different. But a lot of times the wait is forever and nobody thinks about the parents. Not here, an extremely well organized office and check in process made sure we were in, seen right away and out the door. I appreciate how they valued my time just as much as their own. We had such a great experience at this office. It was my son's first trip to the dentist (he's almost 2 years old), so I was nervous about how he would do. Check-in was quick and the receptionists were nice. We didn't wait very long at all (plus there's a train set and toys to keep the kids occupied). The dental assistant was so friendly and efficient. The dentist was also great with my son, and although he fussed a little during the exam, he left with a smile on his face. He was happy to get stickers and a little goody bag after. This time around Dr. Ho was very snappy and abrupt. Because we declined the x-ray, she told us we weren't welcome back. I get that she has a "high standard of care" that she went on and on about but the delivery was aggressive and inappropriate. It was a very unpleasant experience. My child is a toddler, & we started coming to this dental facility when she was maybe 18 months old. My main objective in bringing her to the dentist at a young age is to show her the dentist isn't scary and part of regular care. There's plenty of children/adults that avoid the dentist like the plague. The interaction with Dr. Ho showed me why people do. Once Dr. Ho told me that an xray was required to be a patient at her facility, I 100% understood. She didn't need to layer the negativity on. I am the parent and I have a right to refuse. I did so kindly, I didn't expect such a hostile response. No wonder the hygienist warned me that the dr would force us. Then Dr. Ho proceeded to insult every other dentist that would accept a 3 year old patient who didn't get X-rays. That they were practicing below the standard of care. That interaction didn't feel that the standard of care was high at all. During her tirade, I didn't say one word. Just listened to her go on and on. The aggressiveness & hostility.. so inappropriate. She vehemently said that it was dental standards to get X-rays at age 3. And that by not performing these x-rays, she was forced to practice below standards. My child has no visible cavities, expressed no issues with her mouth, teeth, gums, etc. We expressed absolutely zero issues/concerns. She actually didn't even ask us if my child had any concerns, she was too angry that we simply refused the xray. We were there for just a routine cleaning. Afterwards, I decided to look up what she was talking about to see if it really was that stringent and as dire as she made it out to be. Attached is a picture of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's (AAPD's) recommendations on when X-rays should be performed. Similar info by the American Dental Association. Based on the information, it doesn't appear to have been a grave mistake to decline. While she was ranting at me not to come back if we refuse the xray at the next visit, I had already come to that conclusion myself at the beginning of her tirade. All the extra words were unnecessary. Don't worry, I canceled our next appointment immediately before leaving. The unkindness, bullying, negativity were 100% unnecessary. read more

I felt SO validated by this dentist. When my son's tooth broke after a bad combination of soft, cozy socks and a smooth hardwood floor resulted in a faceplant, I thought I know exactly what to do. I saved it in a baggie of milk and brought it with us, because it was a clean fracture on a permanent tooth, so I thought perhaps they could just rebond it to his original tooth. We took him to another dentist first, one that catered to "emergency visits". Well, the emergency resulted in X-rays and a referral to a pediatric specialist-- and hope lost for his smile ever being the same. Everything that I did and presented to the last dentist they just kind of laughed off and deemed it unnecessary. They said he'd have to just get a liner and deal with the half tooth until he was older. I cleaned and kept his tooth anyway (sounds so weird to say lol), just as a memento cuz I can't throw things like that away. But then we got sent to Dr. Rachel. And she's like no, you did all the things RIGHT. Go home, get the tooth, put it back in milk, and bring it right back so we can rebond it. 10 minutes after I got back, he walked out with his tooth back together and a full smile once again. The entire office was so kind, so understanding and made sure the entire family was comfortable. If you're looking for a knowledgeable dentist with a bedside manner only moms can have, this is the office for you. read more

The dentists, hygeinists and the front staff here are consistently wonderful. My 5 yr old had been coming here with Dr. Ho since she got her first teeth, and everyone that has worked with her so far are very patient, positive, and really knows what they are doing. The office is clean and feels comfortable. We're called back for appointments on time, and cleanings are quick, gentle, and done with care. Love that they have a lot of creative ways to encourage and comfort the kids to get them to go along with the process and are done without too much stress. That's such a big plus as shes not afraid of coming there to her appointments. They have the ceiling tv's playing kids shows with head phones and a nice waiting area with games and toys to occupy their minds before and during the appointments. As an added treat they give a coin to pick a toy from one of the little prize egg machines at the front.
