I wanted to give this business a second chance before leaving a review, but unfortunately I've now had the same issue twice. On my first visit, while I was pregnant, I booked a scalp massage. Instead, I received what seemed to be a pregnancy back massage. I tried to explain to the therapist that it wasn't the service I had booked, but there was a significant language barrier and she didn't seem to understand. The receptionist apologized afterward and encouraged me to come back, assuring me that next time I would receive the treatment I had actually booked. The massage was still pleasant overall, so I paid, tipped, and decided to give them another chance. On my second visit, I booked a 90-minute Lomi Lomi massage and a 30-minute scalp massage. From the beginning, there seemed to be confusion about my booking. The therapist only referred to the 90-minute massage, and I had to repeatedly show her my booking confirmation to explain that I had also booked the scalp massage. I specifically chose Lomi Lomi because I prefer a gentler, flowing style of massage and do not enjoy very deep tissue work. However, the therapist immediately began using very deep pressure, particularly on my back. I repeatedly asked her to go softer and asked whether this was the Lomi Lomi massage I had booked, but it became clear that she did not understand what I was saying. While some parts of the massage, particularly my arms and legs, were enjoyable, the work on my back was quite painful and not what I had requested. At the end of the session, the scalp massage I had booked was not provided at all. When I raised this with staff afterward, another employee attempted to translate, but the response was essentially an apology followed by being ushered out the door. The therapist repeatedly said sorry and was friendly, but there was no real attempt to address the issue or offer a solution. What makes this particularly disappointing is that this has happened on both of my visits. The staff are polite and the massages themselves are not terrible, which is why I have continued to pay and tip. However, when customers are paying for specific treatments, they should receive the services they booked. The ongoing communication issues and repeated failure to provide the booked treatments make it difficult for me to recommend this business. read more

I didn't get that far, but based on my experience, I believe it would have happened if I'd gone through with the transaction. When I arrived, they added $5 for "tax" - fine - but then tried to raise it again when I said I'd pay by card (not a surcharge, but by increasing the base rate another $5). They pointed to a fake printed "terms and conditions" they claimed was on the Groupon site about extra tax fees, which I later confirmed doesn't exist on the Groupon site. Should have went to Yelp instead of Groupon. Was unable to schedule over the phone for weeks and went for a walk-in instead. During my session, the door was opened and left open despite me being exposed. Towards the end of the massage, she transitioned to my legs. My right leg was completed without issue but the back of my left leg was left throbbing. I am now 5 days from my massage and I still am unable to walk without pain. FORCED TIP This was $50 an hour which isn't too bad. The Groupon states an hour is $99 but they discount it to $47 for an hour. Basically the Groupon doesn't really give you a discount. It's just an illusion. I came in and I wasn't greeted at all. I flagged down a Asian guy and he said he will check me in. Told me to sit down and then said my Groupon is only good for the first time and that was it. Totally fine and then he said I had to pay another $4.13 on the Groupon for tax. Sort of weird but okay fine. What really got me was when he asked if I wanted to tip right now and I said okay, then as I was punching in the tip, he swiped my finger away as I was typing the tip in and said "No, you need to pay more for tip since $10 is standard." I was quite appalled since tip is usually earned and I do tip based on the service I receive. They ended up punching in the tip and then signed it for me and at that point I was disgusted with the Asian guy. He then asked if I was a man or a woman. I said I was a woman and then he told me to go into a room. I got the massage and she was pretty good. She spoke mandarin only and I was able to sort of converse with her. After the massage, I felt the same so it didn't really do much for me. She was nice though. Would I come back? Heck no. Who rudely swipes my finger and tipped themselves on their own behalf?! I called the establishment and made an appointment for Saturday, March 1,2025. I received confirmation text message. I arrived at 3:15 pm for my 3:30 pm appointment. I was told that they could not see me until 4pm. I was sat in a dark upstairs room in a hall way. After an hour I asked if there was an issue and no one spoke English. I had several google translate conversations with staff and the continued to tell me to wait. Several white clients walked in after me and were attended to right away. Even walk ins! There was another African American woman in the lobby when I came down to the main desk also told to wait she left. I left after yet again being placed in a room by someone who spoke no English. We could not communicate at all. I then received text messages telling me to come back. At this point I had waisted two hours for a one hour massage! I have been going to this spot for two years, after trying a variety of different places from private to franchise. I will never go anywhere else. My first visit with was with a Groupon for $50 for one hour. First of all, you can't beat that price. Second of all the massage was the best I ever had. After that I started doing a membership which ends up turning out to be $45 a massage. The women are highly skillful and trained. Some of the therapist's speak English and some do not. But they will try to communicate with you about your wants and needs and they do strive to give you exactly what you want. I get a massage about every three weeks and let me tell you they are amazing. The owner, MING, is a very hard worker and strives to make her customers happy. The thing I like most about this place is that I can schedule an appointment seven days a week anytime of day. A lot of places are closed on the weekends or Monday. That doesn't work for me. Also, being a female, I've been to some creepy places with creepy male masseuse's so I like that it is female owned and operated. I am really happy with this place. It's the best for the price. Nothing fancy... no bells and whistles. Just a great, relaxing, massage. If you have been looking around for a good spot, this is it. No pushy sales people. The massage therapist worked diligently to relieve the tension I had throughout my entire body, but focused on my upper back for a long time. They didn't rush us--in fact, every time I thought the massage was over, she put me in a new position or started a new process. The place where you sign in is...interesting, kind of looks like an office building. But when you can provide an exceptional service like the one my sister and I received, it's easy to look past the environment. Besides, the actual massage occurred in a separate room (which I was grateful for, given the reviews I read lmao). You can absolutely tell that these women take their license seriously, it shows in their touch. I felt comfortable and cared for the entire time. Although my massage was like 3 days ago, my back still feels pain free--even after 2 back-to-back shifts. As much as I'd like to keep this place to myself, I have to give this business their props. We think we had a mother - daughter team, but since the speak very little english we were not sure. SO GOOD. They were SO GOOD. Unbelievable. Each masseuse actually got up on each of the (massage) tables on her knees to do the massage. Were hot stones involved ? Yes they were! In addition to your body, these girls know how to handle hot stones! The stones were used at the end of the procedure and they were absolutely delightful. Additionally, when you used their questionaire and circled the areas you needed them to work on ....... they listened. Amazing! The entire experience was really nice. We left feeling great! She said she felt molested. She noticed the door was open when the other person was talking to that man, so she was just on display, naked, for whoever that was. Clearly the owner of Hot Stone Spa doesn't want to share money with Groupon. She only wants to use Groupon to advertise her business. As soon as I call them to make appointment, she told me to cancel my Groupon order and I would pay for the same price in store. I did not want to bother so I used Groupon anyway. The nightmare starts from there. As soon as you walk in the store, she needed me to pay for the tax in cash right away, because I paid to Groupon not her, so she wanted me to pay her tax again. Then she told me not matter how many Groupon I bought I am only allowed to use it once. Then she asked me how much tip I would give before massage session!! I told her it would be 20% of my groupon price. She told me I need to tip 20% as the original price, not even the price she has in store, she just made out a price out of her menu. You even cannot see that number anywhere. Then me and my husband were arranged to a lobby massage bed. Exactly in the lobby, two massage beds only separated from the rest of lobby by dozen room dividers. It feels like we lie down on street naked. Because, people walked around, talked right next to us when we got ready and during session. Also, I made appointment at 12 o'clock, I couldn't get it start until 12:20pm. The owner kept coming in and out, tried to talk to me with some very personal question. Finally when the massage starts, because they are short on people, so the owner did mine. And she has no idea how to do massage. The only thing she did is using elbow to punch my back. Moreover, she was sick so she coughed on me during the session. She was out to welcome new coming customers during my session 3 times. 3 times. I paid the whole hour! After it done, me and my husband run out of the store, it was terrible experience. Either of us felt relaxed, only annoying and angry. I did tip 20% as the price showed in store because I dont want to be stupid. I came at the exact time I was told to come I waited for 10 minutes until they even brought us back to the room. This massage was very very painful and was not done properly I corrected them many times and they still didn't do anything about it and continued to hurt me and my mom. we were in so much pain and it was horrible my my mom who already has bad pains over all. We told them at the end of the massage it was horrible and we would not be paying for this service we left and every month after they tried taking money each month after we tried disputing it with the bank they couldn't do anything. we called many times and they blocked every number. usually this would not be a big deal but it was 130$ and left bruises and marks all over our bodies. every number we called from got blocked and when we said that this will not work the mute themselves until we hang up. We are still trying to get the money back. I would tell everyone to not go here because you will leave with bruises. To add on they also force a tip and tell you to give more money even though they hurt and bruise you. you mind as well just go fall down the steps a few times for free then go here because they feel the exact same and you do not get forced to pay or tip for bad service by the stairs. so I would never go here again or would never tell people to go here! read more

I had a death in my family and had to reschedule, then I communicated with them I may have to cancel the next day but never received a response. I then texted them the morning of to confirm the appointment and no response. I called them and they picked up 2xs and hung up. I then called from my daughter phone and they answered immediately. The thing that is the most unprofessional to me is, the lack of communicative responses and the hanging up on me. Just say you would prefer not to take me as a client rather than ignore me. When we arrived we were told, after buying a couples massage from Groupon, that the Groupon did not cover taxes and that the tip had to be paid IN ADVANCE. We were then told we had to wait bc they were running behind, which was fine. When we were receiving our couples massage in the room my wife was massaged by a gentlemen and I was massaged by a woman. The woman consistently stopped massaging to be on her phone. She attempted to speed through the massage, using her elbow in my back repeatedly after being asked to stop. Another couple arrived midway through our massage demanding the room we were in. Another staff worker came in with a note and 40 mins into the massage they told us they were done.
