I'm another in need of 0 stars. I honestly have a tough time finding a place to start. This man…read moreis a swindler, but more than that, he's dangerous. He charged me an arm and a leg for what he did, but hey, that's on me for not shopping around. Yes, over and over he promised to have his guys out and they didn't show. Eventually he got the job done. Honestly, it looked ok, even better than I would have expected. The boat was very bad off prior and much better after. The real problem came with his final promise. I had a broken deck hatch that he said he was going to fix for $100. He acted like it would be easy up front but I'm positive he knew it wasn't fixable. Because of this fix, the job seemed worth more. In the end, he replaced my boat door without the latch or piston. All I wanted was the piston replaced so I knew what to replace it with, it was all rusty and such. On Friday he said he'd drop it off Monday. I texted him Monday to ask him when he'd be swinging by, even started the text with a nice "Hi Eddie!". He sent back a NASTY text filled with expletives calling me lazy and acting like he never said he'd return it saying he threw that piece of "expletive" away and acting like I was the stupidest most unreasonable person he'd ever met for asking for it in the first place. I thought it may go better if I called him and just asked nicely if he could just tell me what kind of piston I needed to replace it with but he would let me talk. He threw F bombs at me for 10 minutes before I could even speak, and even then, he would listen to anything I had to say. This is all after I'd already paid him in full. Also noteworthy, when he came to collect payment, he brought a big tall muscular man like he expected trouble from me. This is the behavior of a man used to swindling people. My advise to anyone who happens by this review, DON'T do business with Eduardo Rodriguez of Eddie's Island Boats. With these reviews all being in a month's time, I'm guessing he changes the name of his business often to avoid not getting business.
