UPDATE: she called at 9 pm to tell us to leave in 20 mins because of the review I left. Have her on recording saying that was the reason we needed to leave. The absolute worst KOA Ive ever seen and we have been full time for 9 years soooo Ive seen a few.The pool has no water. Dog crap on our site when we got here. We rented 2 spots side by side. The power hookup is at the front of the site, smart huh!The people that is in the spot at our front door have their sewer hose ran through our picnic table and no doughnut of any kind. Its just a raw dog hose hanging off in the hole. So lovely at your door. If we didnt just travel 12 hours I would have kept moving because this place is terrible. You dont wanna stop here!! Surely there has to be nicer places in the area, I thought Koa would be the nicest. We're only here for one night but so far the campground has been fine. The staff was welcoming and friendly, the grounds and bath house is clean. It's not huge but it's fine. If you're looking for quiet time, this isn't the place as it's sits on the highway. But we have AC and we hear nothing when inside. I wouldn't rule it out. read more

It's a shame because this could be a very good place to be if they weren't overpriced and very rude to the extent that you fear they may be in jeopardy of bankruptcy due to their poor management staff. Don't come here unless you have absolutely no other option. My husband & I travel a lot for his job so we were planning on staying here long term but after just the first month, we were so ready to leave. We had only been here for 1 month & a half, it's was raining the night before & 20° which made me see a trail of frozen 'water' in the morning.. come to find out that it was the sewage. It was completely full & smelled pretty bad. That same day, the power in my Camper went out multiple times, it was the meter outside failing & my husband went to tell the lady about both issues.. Her response was "too much is going on here." As if it was our fault. A neighbor who had been there longer than us, let us know that the people who were in that space before had to get the sewage emptied twice in only 3 months.. & when my husband told her that, she quickly shut her mouth. for the rest of the 3-4 months that we stayed there, we had to use the neighbors drainage because they didn't want to empty ours out & we had constant electrical issues which she insisted was our camper's electrical system failing but it wasn't. I was 6-8 months pregnant, sleeping in 15-45° weather, without heat because she insisted it was our issue & not theirs. We've moved camp grounds & not surprisingly, everything works great. They didn't want to fix their meter but were happy charging us almost $200 for electrical that never worked. The WiFi isn't that great. Their prices go up around March, I believe it's around $1300 for rent plus the electrical. It's ridiculously expensive for no reason. It's not worth it & the lady is super rude. The smallest inconvenience here is the loud highway right in-front and the constant ambulance noises. The lady at the front is rude & snarky for no reason but the next day she will try being nice. Oh but if you need her to do her job than she doesn't know how to communicate without an attitude. Her smart little comments really triggered me during my pregnancy & after. If you would like a peaceful time than this isn't the correct staff. I don't recommend staying here unless it's only a couple nights. read more

Uneven Gravel pit with no fire pit. Pool out of order and playground smaller than my kids have at home. not worth the price with no amenities. Just find free parking if you need to sleep for the night. Disappointed kids! read more

My wife is a travel nurse and we stayed here during her contract for 3 months. The people here are very nice and helpful, they even helped my wife twice to change out propane while she was there. We have a 5 slide 5th wheel and the spaces are plenty big, we even had space to make our dogs a play yard. We would definitely stay here again if she gets another contract here or even if we just come back to visit. read more

Got there and was escorted to our site I couldn't believe it. The site was grave uneven, no shade and no fire pit When I told the woman this wouldn't do because we reserved a shaded site four months ago. There were plenty of sites in the shade, she told us that my trailer and RV wouldn't fit. I told her we could drop the trailer. But that wasn't good effort. I told her she could give my site to someone else. But that couldn't be don't only by the owner could and the owner had change our site earlier . Right. Finally she told us we should leave because we were not happy. After getting our refund she said to my wife bye and don't come back. Don't worry we won't. Happily we found a camp ground in High Point next to a lake shaded and paved sites so much friendly and we were able to choose of site. read more

This campground is right off the highway and close to downtown events. Easy access sites with full connections. Staff informed us it is under new ownership and they have been making quite a few improvements with more planned for the coming years. it meets all of our need when we are passing through. read more

My wife and I were visiting from Alaska, My Son and Daughter in-law thought they would take us some where close to where they live for a nice evening of camping which they had reservations at. When we arrived we noticed the campground was only 1/4 full at best so we took a drive through to see what spot maybe we could ask for. After making the loop back to the office a little man ( Andy Slain ) on a golf cart approached my son in a most unprofessional/confrontational manner chewing his ass for driving through and checking out the facilities, We asked for a refund and the little guy still would not let up. He is bad business for KOA! I do not recommend this ( campground? ) by any means! It is not pretty, it is close to a noisy freeway and the runt in the golf cart has no people experience. I am looking for the owner to voice a complaint personally. Stay away! read more

Moved here in November with the intentions of staying long term. Which we told to 2 different employees. One when we made the reservation and another one just days before our arrival when she called to ask us how long we would be staying. The manager didn't ask my husband how long we would be staying at check-in. In January we were told the rate for our cramped site was going up to $850 a month. And in 2 months we would have to pay the daily rate which comes to $1350. We would not moved here if we had been given the correct information. But I am pretty sure that we weren't told that it wasn't a long term campground because they had a lot of empty spots in November. I think they neglected to tell us so they could fill a spot and make money. Or else all of the staff is incompetent. If you plan on staying be aware that they charge 17 cents kwh for site 29. According to the helpful woman at Duke Energy, the site next to us was paying just over 9 cents a kwh. Our site and some of the others weren't showing up on their list. Internet was mostly good. Water pressure was horrible in the mornings when there were a lot of people there. The noise from the interstate is constant and loud. The dryers are kind of ineffective. The manager is snippy and rude sometimes when you go to get the mail. One day you can come in and get it and then next day you are reprimanded for opening the door. Which has a sign that says to come on in. Best to find somewhere else to stay. Unless tight quarters, rudeness and noise are your thing. read more

Do NOT go to this campground if you are the typical camper thinking everything camping consists of really nice people. It's a KOA so we didn't call ahead to dump our tanks. Got there and they said no dump station. Many times before we have stopped at campgrounds we no dump station and have been sent to a campsite to dump. Small charge or no charge. Not here. No station and no consideration for you driving out of the way to get there. Wendy said $60.00 and you can go to a site to dump. I don't think so. read more

Great overnight stay! Friendly staff and nice facilities. Clean bath house, very convenient location- perfect for a quick stop!

This campground is older and the amenities are pretty basic. It is very conveniently located to town and I 40. The folks in the office are very friendly and accommodating. We liked it here and will return. read more

Let me start off by saying the women at the front desk is very friendly and welcoming. That being said the bath houses are horribly NASTY. Use them at your own risk. All sites are gravel and can hear some interstate noise. The pool is below average but the campground is visually well kept and shaded for the most part. There is no cable Tv but the internet wifi is free. read more

We had stayed here when it was Greensboro campground before the KOA took over so we were looking for it to be the same when we pulled in this time unfortunately when we got there we were put into a campsite where our trailer sat sideways and when we went to hook up power on of the legs didn't work so we only had half power in the trailer when we asked to be moved even though there were 20 empty spaces he took us to one in the back that was mountainous that our trailer wouldn't fit in and told us if we didn't like that we could leave. If you can't accommodate a trailer our length then you shouldn't accept a reservation. read more

First of all, when you reserve months ahead, request a shaded site, and a pull thru, make a deposit and receive confirmation of such, only to drive 1200 miles and find your reserved site is a dry dusty site with no shade whatsoever, and told "if you don't like it, leave." We asked if she could look for another site, for we find every site around us with shade is empty, and told those are for weekenders, and that all decisions are made by the owner. When my husband asked for the owners name and number, she said "he accepts NO phone calls." Second, the other site we found we couldn't open the slides for it would touch the neighbors. Well by then this woman is beside herself with us and says she wants us to leave, she will refund our monies, and would like us to leave. By that point, I did open mouth, and asked if this is how she treated people here? and that we paid for a site, that KOA Greensboro had my monies all this time.... she threatened to call the sheriff to have us removed. And upon leaving, she handed me the refund and said "bye" and as I walked out the door, I heard her say, "and don't come back." I popped back in and asked her why is she such a bitch? her response was to say "you're the bitch." We left with no problem I am relieved to be out of the nasty KOA and her nastiness; J. Slaine!.... like I said... "karma's a bitch!" BTW Oak Hollow Family campground, High Point, is fantastic they we so welcoming. read more

Hosts were awesome, couldn't have been more friendly. Downsides: campground is located literally several hundred feet from I40, it's like trying to sleep on the shoulder of the busiest highway in the state. My teeth rattled every time an 18 wheeler drove by. The pool was dirty and cold/unheated, the building's paint was old and faded and the soffit was so rotted it was on the brink of collapse. read more

I give this a 4 star, however I only stayed overnight twice, but from what I see it is a good place to camp. It is close to hwy. so it has easy access, but also you have hwy. noise as well. This didn't bother me and the staff is friendly and helpful. read more
