I had the pure pleasure of attending the Nutcracker Holiday Tea with my daughter and granddaughter on Sunday. It was so lovely. The decorations were pretty and the snacks very tasty. There was a reinactment of the Nutcracker by dancers. Caroling, ornament making and assisting with making a Gingerbread house. My 8 year old grand daughter loved every moment of this event and so did I. There was also a story time and the read Nutcracket book was read. And they gave parting gifts of gingerbread cookies and jewelry to everyone. Lastly, they had a raffle that I did not win lol but, it was still fun to be a part of it. We will be definitely be back next year!!

If you've never experienced afternoon tea at the O'Henry, you should add it to your bucket list. The ambiance is grand, yet cozy, and the staff is very accommodating. Tea arrives with quaint vintage individual tea pots, and you'll see a variety of charming patterns at your table. I highly recommend the Paris tea, lightly spiced with hints of caramel and vanilla. I ordered the O'Henry tea and added the champagne split to enjoy the full breadth of the experience. The finger sandwiches, scones, and sweets are the perfect pairing (but of course) and I particularly relished the smoked salmon crumpet and chicken salad filo tart. We've made it an annual spring tradition for our group of girlfriends!

I came here for their Cocktail and Jazz night. It's awesome that the hotel offers these shows for free every Thursday. The place is pretty packed for the event. If you want a good seat you either have to get lucky (like I did), come early, or wait until the 2nd set around 8 o'clock when people start to leave. The music was great! It's rare when I get to hear live Jazz in Greensboro so it's awesome that they have these events weekly. The food and drinks were good too. They only have small plates for the performance. I could probably eat 3 plates for myself if I was hungry (FYI the food in the pics are half eaten). The prices weren't too bad either considering how good the food is and the location. I definitey recommend the short rib sliders and the Muhammara with extra pita (they give you soooo much dip you'll need the extra).

We took the young ladies to Tea at the O'Henry. You have to make reservations in advance as they seem to stay booked up. They have a tea menu with different snack levels. Very elegant in the main O'Henry lobby. A fun event at a wonderful hotel.

The afternoon tea at the O.Henry has been a staple in our household. My grandmother used to take me to afternoon tea when I was a kid so it has always had a special place in my heart. And it honestly hasn't changed a bit over all these years, in the best way! The tea treats are so yummy and cute. Its such a nice change of pace for a celebration instead of standard restaurants or bars. It makes you feel like you are in London, instead of Greensboro.

This is by far one of my favorite places to visit. It doesn't matter if it's a weekday or a weekend I just love the ambience of the lobby of the O'Henry Hotel. Love the finger foods and treats provided as part of the full tea. Enjoy the great selection of always on the menu tease as well as the seasonal selections. The service is awesome, the ambience is fantastic And you have the option of dressing up or dressing down, but it always provides an elevated sophisticated experience. I would enjoy tea at the O Henry every week if I can convince others to join me, but until then, I'll have to deal with at least a monthly visit to enjoy this wonderful addition to the Greensboro community.

Taking Afternoon Tea at the O' Henry is simply divine. The Lobby of the O.Henry Hotel is always a perfect place to experience tea time. It has become a wonderful tradition in our family. We are always delighted to taste the treats created by their amazing team of pastry chefs. Excellent service. At this price level, there is no other afternoon tea that outshines the O'Henry.

The afternoon tea here is delightful. I've tried a few different teas here and they've all been delicious. The service is always stellar, and really all of the food is delicious. My favorite are the scones.

This hotel is a classic spot with a lot of character. From the moment you enter you feel right at home. I was able to take part in their tea time and had it brought to my room. Nothing says hospitality like afternoon tea. The restaurant in the hotel is also very lovely with a lot of great options as well as a full bar. Highly recommend.

Wow!!!! Such an amazing hotel. The staff were exceptional!!!!! We stayed here as our Daughters wedding was at a venue in Stokesdale. Cannot say enough about the level of service we received staying here. One of the best stays I have ever had and I stay at quite a few hotels. This is the place to stay when in the area. Even if you just do it once it's worth it! Thank you to the staff for making it the best stay!!

We made one of our regular sojourns to the O. Henry for their wonderful tea, which has become a holiday tradition, including family photos in front of their beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The teas were delicious, including the seasonal holiday tea, the scones continue to be the best I have ever had, the seasonal quiche (won't give it away) worth ordering extra, and staples like the chicken salad filo tart never disappoint -- and leave one wanting more. But even better was the warm and attentive service; afterwards we wished we had asked our server her name, she was so good. Thanks to GM Michael too, for the treat!

heads up, this review is for the afternoon tea. i've never stayed at the hotel as i used to live in greensboro briefly. my parents still live here so when i visit gso i stay with them. :p i actually have been here for tea more than once -- one time before i liked tea and this time since i've become a huge tea enjoyer. the first time, i still very much loved it. i liked trying all of the savories, sweets, and the scone from the light afternoon tea. i didn't try a lot of the actual tea as, for some odd reason, i thought all tea tasted like grass (rolling my eyes at my former self now). it was also cool that they brought everything out on a three-tier plate; i mean who wouldn't think that was cool?! the inside of the place, being a hotel, feels like a regal one that you would see in the likes of the movie home alone. the service is always lovely, too. this time around, about two years later, we decided to come back. in the last year, i've gotten very "into" tea. i drink it a lot and i love trying new ones... so i was happy to hear when the o.henry had seasonal teas to go with the o.henry tea, which is their largest afternoon tea of the three total that they offer. i got their holiday spiced black tea which included cinnamon and orange peel. of all the teas i tried, this one was my favorite. the other people i attended with got the chocolate chai and the other holiday tea, which tasted like a redhot candy. onto the actual noshes. each sweet and savory are about a bite or two big. usually, when i have afternoon tea, i eat in the order of 1) savories, 2) scone, and 3) sweets. so let's start with the savories: the o.henry tea includes an open-face cucumber finger sandwich, a mini ham, brie, & fig croissant, smoked salmon on a mini crumpet, a tea quiche, and a chicken salad tart made with filo dough. these were all delicious, my favorite ended up being the chicken salad tart. onto the scone, which was vanilla. it was soft with a wonderful outside crust, not too hard or crunchy. the scones come with real clotted cream which is a plus (a lot of places do not use legit clotted cream nowadays) and lemon curd. they are perfect on this scone and enhance the vanilla perfectly. lastly, the sweets. the menu doesn't specify what they are, it just says "assorted sweets." there is a mini cheesecake, a macaron, a slice of cake covered in strawberry jam and coconut, and a molasses cookie. i believe the sweets left more to be desired, to be honest. since the menu was not descriptive of the sweets, i got worried when i saw the cheesecake. i couldn't tell if it contained raspberries or blackberries. i am very, very allergic to blackberries. i flagged down the waitress and she informed me that the cheesecake had raspberry filling, thankfully, but if the menu had just told me what sweets were available it would've saved me the anxiety. i think of the sweets, i liked the macaron and the cheesecake most. the molasses cookie had way too much molasses. the jammy cake was only okay, partially because i just don't like coconut shavings. overall, i had a wonderful experience. the service was good, we had a very nice waitress who was very accommodating with all of the different kinds of teas we ordered. the savory food was fantastic and the sweets were still good even though they were not my favorites. the tea itself was top tier in my opinion, i would come here just for a pot of it. i do recommend afternoon tea at the o.henry!

Drury Inn & Suites, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, is incredible, to say the least! "Travel work" is what has brought me to this area ( just in case you're wondering, lol). Using my #1 go-to *Yelp*, I searched for lodging accommodations for 2 nights. After reading reviews of different establishments for about 20-25 mins, my mind was set on Drury Inn & Suites. I have lodged with Drury before (for the most part, I knew what I was getting into, lol), but this was different. Check-in didn't take 10 mins. The receptionist was friendly & super informative (always a plus), with what was offered "free" in addition to my stay. Happy hour specials (2 complimentary drinks), hot breakfast, afternoon snacks/meal (called *kickback*) 5:30pm-7:00pm, was the icing on the cake. Super affordable, luxurious & spacious rooms, adequate parking, superb customer service, & indoor pool, what more could you want? It's a travelers dream! So, if you're ever in the area or in need of a getaway, this could satisfy your craving. With restaurants and shopping within walking or a short drive, paradise - minus being rich, lol. The dinner experience wasn't great at all and again going off of what we were told last year, that was just really disappointing. The set up for plates and the extras were in weird spots didn't have a nice flow and the dining area was very hot. I had high expectations from a Drury rewards member and this is not the stay they told me we should have had. I booked two rooms for 6 days so a lot of money was spent for a poor stay. The parking structure entrance is on Federal Place between West McGee Street and Exchange Place; it's hard to miss because of the signage that reads "Hampton Inn & Suites Entrance." The entrance to the hotel on the first floor of the parking structure is considered the main entrance and is usually unlocked during the day. The side, first-floor entrance on West McGee Street is often locked; you'll need your room key for access. If you park on the second or third levels of the garage, you'll be able to access rooms on those floors directly. Parking is $12 per day. A parking tag is required. Most guests seem to opt for the garage. Street parking immediately adjacent to the hotel is available for free without time restrictions. Weekends are the most competitive parking time. Look for the spots without signage detailing parking limitations. Hampton Inn & Suites Greensboro Downtown gets the job done. They offer a decent complementary hot and continental breakfast as well as areas to do business, etc. All hotel staff was very professional and friendly. There was one issue that I had with this hotel. On Friday, October 28th, the fire alarm went off throughout the hotel. It lasted for probably around 30 minutes or so. There was no communication or any staff members on the floors instructing guests on what to do. We were all very confused and didn't know if this was a test alarm or if we needed to evacuate the building. There were never any instructions for us to evacuate our rooms. I decided to leave the room and go out of the building because the alarm kept going off and no one was saying anything. As I took the stairs from the fourth floor down to the first floor, there was a strong smell of what seemed like rubber burning. It was only when I got to the first floor that I went and asked one of the staff what was going on and she said that someone put something in the microwave that wasn't supposed to be in the microwave and triggered the fire alarm. At that time, two firemen entered the building to go and evaluate the situation. This was handled poorly. Guests should have received communication on the expectations regarding that fire alarm. Had this been a different situation with a real fire, this lack of communication could've had a detrimental effect on the guests. Other than that situation with the fire alarm, I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is a really good hotel. I rated it as a three solely because of the issue with the fire alarm.

Let's start with the good: The hotel team are friendly and thoughtful. The Manager, Brian, even allocated a dining room to me to take a long meeting, which was just awesome. Rooms are clean, and the hotel is charming. They are clearly leaning in on the old school vibe, and we were digging it. Considerations: The old elevator is super cool and vintage, but we took it only when required with luggage. Neat experience but made me nervous every time I used it. YMMV on this one! The hotel could use some upgrades and modernization which would mix old with new: Many switches with no connected lights, upgrade of in room phones and rework of electrical outlet options. The back steps are a bit steep, but it was not at all a problem for me and my husband on the 2nd floor. Finally, the location is terrific. Greensboro is not large, and staying downtown gives you access to all the areas. Biltmore is in an awesome spot. Try Natty Greeen's and Cheesecakes by Alex! They're literally around the corner.
