We've been coming to Greensboro Pediatricians for over 11 years and overall, it's exactly what I expect from a U.S. doctor's office these days (for good or for bad). This office is solid in person, not great outside of that. The in-office experience is consistently good; staff are friendly, and every doctor we've seen (including our two primary doctors over the years) has been great about taking their time and answering all our questions. That said, if you're hoping to get much help over the phone or without going in, don't count on it. They can tell you if you should come in or not, but beyond that, you're better off using a telehealth service. read more

In my professional interactions with the pediatricians of this group, I have had nothing but good experiences. I've had to call them for consults occasionally - they've been helpful, informative, and extremely nice. I could not speak to the delay in getting an appointment noted in the prior review or the delay in receiving a return phone call as I've not had this issue when I've called them. To provide some professional perspective, I will say, however, that with scheduled 2 medications (ADHD medications), physicians are required to see patients at regular intervals and most practices require 1 weeks' notice for providing prescription refills. read more

After reading a few of these reviews I had to write about my own experiences. My children have been patients at this practice for years. Yes there have been changes in staff, doctors have retired, replaced by new ones, but there has never been a gap in the level of service provided by the doctors in this practice. I realize that not all people have good experiences, but to bad mouth the entire practice over the answering service is a bit extreme. As long as my children's medical needs are met with top notch care, that to me, is the most important element of making a judgment of the practice as a whole. The staff has always been professional and courteous, and willing to accommodate my requests, whenever possible. Thankfully, we have had few actual emergencies over the years, but if a visit was necessary, they always found a way to squeeze us in, even if it meant the doctor staying long after closing time. What a shame that some people only report the negative and forget about what's truly important about a medical practice--and that's the quality of care they receive. Who hasn't had a problem or two with phone systems anywhere you've called? My children have gone to Greensboro Pediatricians since my son was born 8 years ago. Since then, we have been through 4 main doctors. Our first doctor was truly superb (but we got her after refusing to see the initial one they assigned us, as he seemed borderline incompetent when dealing with a preemie) and our second doctor was also excellent. Those are the only two good things I can say about this practice, however. We dealt with switchboard issues that caused the entire office to be shut off to the outside world on several occasions. We were unable to get appointments when the children were sick until two days later. The latest fiasco that has caused me to switch practices is this: my son has diagnosed ADHD and takes medication for it. Without it, he simply cannot perform well in school. We called for a refill, as with that type of medication it's the only way to do it, and we were told that his doctor needed for him to come in for a checkup before getting more pills. However, the doctor could not see him for a week. 7 days without his meds...we explained the desperate situation to the front desk staff and a nurse and were told that the doctor would be able to write a temporary small prescription and that we'd be called back shortly. However, despite our calling two more times and relaying the importance of this medicine for our son, we never received another phone call until two full days later. At this point, considering our son had to take a very important test for entry into the gifted program at his school OFF his medication, we went to see another doctor and will be switching practices. I would highly caution anyone looking to go to this practice, as they have shown tremendous professional irresponsibility. read more

The doctors are competent. One or two have good bedside manner with parents or kids. Some seem downright annoyed by both. The answering service in a citywide joke. I know Pediatric Therapists who crack jokes about the switchboard. If Saturday Night Live ever hears it they will be sure to make a parody of it. I'm shocked a local radio station hasn't jumped on it for their morning drive. It is a black hole of "If.....blah blah blah.......click this." After 5 or so menus of the same routine you get the opportunity to leave a message. Don't get excited if you hear a real voice at the end of all this. Clearly you've called during their 2 hour break and this is just the phone service, even though they proceed to ask you questions about your child, leading you to believe they are in the medical profession. That is until you ask a medical question and they tell you they are just the phone service. I've been at this practice since my kids were babies and the only reason I haven't left is because of the medical history and the trouble. Luckily my visits to the office are so few and far between now that I can handle the rise in blood pressure each time I have to deal with them. However, if you are a new mom and dad, I encourage you to look elsewhere where you have a chance of being less than a number. read more

My son has been going to Greensboro Peds for 18 years before having to find his own doctor because he had a son, who then became a patient. I have sent many families to Dr. Miller. We will continue to see Dr. Miller or any of the physicians in this practice as long as they are in Greensboro. read more

I am giving them a one star because the doctor and nurse was nice but that's where the positive ends. Not only could they not spell my daughters name right and therefore try and tell us we didn't have valid insurance (was corrected and insurance was covered) but then their referral called to make a specialist appointment for my son (um, it's a DAUGHTER) for physical therapy (it was for a hearing test) and then charged us for a hearing test they did not do. Makes me wonder if her immunizations were administered correctly if they can't get the basic details right. Not impressed and switched her to Northwest Pediatricians and very happy there! read more

I absolutely love Greensboro Pediatricians! My daughter went there when she was younger and I have had nothing but positive experiences! My daughter has an immune deficiency and required more visits than other children. As a new young mom, Dr. Puzio always put me at ease. He is calm, informative, and supportive. She is now 20 and has aged out. However, I now have a 2 year old son and he loves Dr. Puzio! I have never had a problem getting an appointment, even on a Saturday. On some occasion, I have called the on-call nurse and they have also been helpful and friendly. Take from this mom, who has been going to Greensboro Peds for 20 years, they are the best! read more

I am a physician and we started taking our two children to Greensboro Pediatricians at the suggestion of another physician family when we moved to this area. We are always able to schedule appointments with their primary care doctor for well child checks since we plan in advance. On the rare occasion that they get sick, we have always been offered a same day appointment with an available physician. They have been accommodating with my request that my children not see midlevels (personal preference). My phone calls have always been returned promptly and medications have been sent in quickly and to the correct pharmacy. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the billing department could stand to get their act together a bit more. For months they kept checking a box on the forms they submit to the insurance company for "double coverage", but our boys are only single covered. Since this box was checked, our insurance company kept denying payment as they were waiting for the other (nonexistent) insurance. It took a long time for us to figure out what was going on since the forms submitted are not ones patient families typically see. They kept sending us bills saying we had to pay everything out of pocket since our insurance was denying the claims. It was frustrating and took a lot of time on the phone with multiple people but it seems that this has been worked out now. I hope so. My suggestion - have no concerns about taking your kids here regarding their care. Medically, they are excellent. Keep on top of your bills and paperwork though to make sure it is correct :) read more

This is my first review but after reading the negative review I felt that I as an experienced parent with this practice I needed to respond. Dr. O'Kelley was my child's pediatrician since birth. He was wonderful in the hospital and attentive during the years that followed. I missed this when I moved out of state due to job relocation. I have yet to find a pediatrician I like as much as Dr O'Kelley. During my child's first year we went through many illnesses and the office and doctors were great. After hours there are on call nurses (that I used many times and sometimes multiple times a night) that are supportive and helpful. I've even had an on-call nurse recommend that my child be seen first thing in the morning and I would call for the appointment and get in. Dr. O'Kelley and staff always took time to thoroughly answer questions we had and I felt really considered the well-being of my child as a priority. I initially found this practice while pregnant researching a Triad Mom site. Do your research and I think you will discover many reviews that this is a solid pediatric practice. I gave four stars because sometimes the office staff can be overwhelmed but I have yet to find a practice where everything is perfect. I would give no stars but you have to have one to give a review. this office is a disgrace to babies and children. they are unprofessional and not compassionate and should be very ashamed to call themselves Pediatricians. the office staff is very unprofessional and rude and the receptionist violated hippa policy with me. you can never get appointments. they are kids come on Drs they get sick a lot!! you have to work. and when the receptionist violated my rights and privacy and was rude I tried to file a complaint and they kicked my 4 month old baby out of the practice. obviously they look out for their own not the children who should be the most important part. they didn't warn me talk to me call me just sent a letter and it's the middle of flu season!!! really people.. such a shameful thing and don't ever tell the office manager if you have a problem she will say to your face we will work together to deal with this then 2 weeks later bam!! you will get a letter saying your precious baby no longer has a doctor and isn't allowed to see anyone at their practice. no mother should have to go through this and I was never picky or anything I tried to work with them because they would never work with me and my son was born sepsis and had to be in the nicu so this is a terrible inconvenience I just have to take him to the er if he gets sick. oh and they tried to tell me they would forward his records to his next doctor well I am going to pick them up I was told by an attorney that as a patient I have the right to get his records in my own hands to give to the next doctor. I've been taking my children to this practice for years. They are now 17 and 20 yrs. old. Both have ADHD. We have seen Dr.s/PA's at Gso. Peds. for routine appointments and for illnesses. In contrast to Julie J.s report and interpretation, We have NEVER had a problem with "professional irresponsibility", rudeness, neglect, failure to call us back or incompetence on anyone's part. Gso. Peds. staff have been consistently responsive. Yes, we've had a couple of Dr. changes as the practice grew and Dr.s left for other opportunities. This is to be expected in any practice this size (and still growing!). Everyone we've seen has been Very Good - Excellent. Not just medically competent, but kind, attentive, intelligent and clearly interested in helping. They provide very good care, have gotten us in on the same day when illness/injury required it, and are conscientous about following medication protocols (like the ADHD check ups) to ensure proper care.
