I called and left a message about hoping to get in quickly for a consult and an adjustment due to some back strain from moving/biking/life. However, being in meetings on a Monday and Tuesday meant little time to actually try to schedule something - can't be stepping out to make calls constantly. Dr. Steven was able to work with my schedule over text, and within a matter of minutes, I had an appointment that fit my schedule, and he gave me some (very reasonable) cost for services. I wasn't in the quaint waiting room before Dr. Steven came in to get me. On time. His demeanor was very casual and welcoming, which I love. I had a chiropractor once whose mannerisms were so erratic, I would always get nervous he was going to snap something or trip over his own feet (he was good, though, but man, just made me nervous). We went to his office, and he sat down and listened to me. Just sitting down and conversing with me meant a lot - no jittery movements, no multitasking, no BS. He took a great history and did some test movements to make sure he wouldn't injure anything before doing an adjustment. His adjustments lasted a fair bit longer than I have had in the past, as I usually get a quick crack or two then shoved onto a traction machine or some other contraption. Not Dr. Steven. Using only his handiwork and one handheld tool, he manipulated, massaged, stretched, moved, and then adjusted me. He educated me on some of my body's natural mobility, and the rationales for why I might be feeling some of my pains. After our appointment, he gave me some GREAT tips on how to improve my pain and spine health at home, and offered me to just message him and set up another appointment. In today's hectic world, finding someone who is accommodating, flexible, and skillful is a daunting task. Add on Dr. Steven's excellent demeanor, knowledge, and fair pricing - and you've got yourself a fantastic doctor. Thanks again, Dr. Steven - I will be back!

His thorough explanations and reassurance gave me peace of mind while I was monitored for 3 hours as recommended by Poison Control. Dr Baird checked on me several times throughout my stay and made sure I had the opportunity to ask any questions. When I told him I was cold, he took the time to bring me a warm blanket. I wished I could remember everyone's names. There was a paramedic who drew my blood that was kind and professional. Later, another staff member brought me a second blanket because I still felt cold. A curly haired, kind, polite, young man came in a couple times to ask how I was doing and was the one who checked me out. I have lived with chronic back pain for just over 30 years, with 20 years being in the military. Including ONLY locations where I have resided for a year or more (not deployments) and have used chiropractor services, I have lived in 9 different places, with different chiropractors each time. It's befitting, that where we chose to retire and live out the remainder of our lives, that we are here in Black Mountain. The Greenspan Wellness Center offers a holistic approach to pain management, healing, pain relief, and even weight loss (I lost 25 lbs) this past summer. Most important to me is the pain relief I can get from muscle spasms, nerve pain, upper and lower back pain, neck stiffness, IT band spasms, what you could call relentless leg syndrome (RLS) and immobility. Of course, part of the responsibility is on you, to not exceed your abilities or lift heavy weight, to stretch and relax your muscles, and maintenance with frequent visits. There may not be a cure with 100% pain relief for you and your condition.....but, pain mitigation will greatly increase your quality of life, your mobility, and most of all for me, your tolerance to enable me to travel long distance and overseas to make my living: Planes, trains, and automobiles, for days and weeks at a time. Pain mitigation is key, for those like me who have lots of scar tissue, chronic pain and muscle spasms, for years. I can make my keep in a very stressful job both stateside and overseas, and sustain to the point where the pain is not controlling me to the point of ineffectiveness and/or Incapacity. I get to the point of a lot of pain, inflammation, and spasms after every trip. I was diagnosed with peripheral neuroathy a year ago. The neurologist said it could be managed but it isn't curable, and to return in six months for a reassessment. I did not go back. My feet, my hands, and my sense of balance got a lot worse over the year. About a month ago my sister told me that a friend of hers had started a program at the Greenspan Welllness Center after she developed neuropathy from chemotherapy. She said the program wasn't about taking drugs to treat the symptoms, and is a no-drug, wholistic treatment method that regenerates nerves and improves your overall health. So I spoke with the friend in depth and looked at the information on the website and it made sense to me. I made a consultation appointment and then began the treatment. To my surprise I felt better after only a couple of days. I started feeling sensation along the the bottom of my feet again. Then I started feeling arthritis in my hands again, and it was a good thing, LOL. I am sleeping more soundly now and every day I feel better than I did the day before. I no longer feel like I am losing my balance when I step off a sidewalk. I am also losing weight. At 11:20 I went to the front desk and one of the ladies made a face concerned that I haven't been seen yet. She said she will look into it. At 11:30 I walked up to the front desk and said I'm leaving. This is the second time it happened. If it was the first time I would've written it off. I did not write a review after the first time the physical therapist was not told I was there for a treatment. One of the staff went into James's office and said I was waiting to see him. Yes they gave me a last-minute appointment that morning. I don't know if his schedule was updated or what happened, but he had no idea that I was there and had an appointment with him that morning. This isn't a large office. Luckily the first time, one of the staff noticed me sitting there and alerted James. He said he would look into this and it wouldn't happen again. Well today, I waited 30 minutes. I watched people who came in after me get treated by the chiropractors. At 11:30 when I left someone at the front desk was said: 'she's next.' I should have been next at 11:15 or even 11:20.... and again, I'm gonna say this it is a small office. The front desk could've seen me sitting there. The front desk could've seen that my paperwork hadn't moved forward. The Chiropractor's could easily see me. There are three chiropractors on site. I really don't understand why I was ignored for 30 minutes. So if you have an appointment and you feel like you're waiting too long and you see other people who came in after you being treated before you, you've been forgotten just like I have been. Twice.

Not just me, but friends of mine went to him as well, and told me that he called them as well to check in. Who does that? (Other than maybe the receptionist who is also trying to get another appointment~) I came to his office to have a session of functional neurology. I was skeptical when I was in the consultation. He did some testing on me to see the strength in my body....my hands, my arms and my legs. Even though I came in to treat an injury, I still had the feeling that my body was strong. Until he tested me...and, in that moment, no words had to be said. I had no ability to resist and show my strength! Then he treated me. Afterwards, he retested my hands, arms and legs, and incredibly....I was STRONG again!!!! That was enough to show me that this is where I needed to be to get better.. I've been coming to the practice now for about three months now. During this time I had an another health problem where my dentist had apparently hit a nerve or dug too deeply in my mouth, and the pain was incredible! I couldn't open my mouth! My Dentist was going to send me to a specialist....which of course would be costly I decided to tell this to Dr Walicki. In the same session he was treating me for my injury, he added an adjustment to my mouth. There was a noticeable improvement afterwards. Within the next 3 visits, I was completely healed of that! I could go on and on, but what I wanted to say in this review is Thank You, Dr. Walicki You are an incredible resource for ANYONE who's dealing with pain, or a health challenge where they have not yet found success in resolving. Knowing what I know about now after having my experience with Advanced Chiropractic, how incredibly brilliant and caring Dr Walicki is, I would say to EVERYONE AND ANYONE who has a health condition, or who wants to stay ahead of the game, make an appointment! You will be happy you did. He's one of a kind
