Really?? To where I responded that it clearly isn't about the true care of the patient and their wellbeing, and sat down. She is a terrible free my desk coordinator. She seems better fit for the DMV with her attitude. Then I saw Dr. Jeffries who was super late. The first 5 minutes of my visit was her on her cell phone trying to find a photo of my previous obgyn because she was curious to see if she knew her since she's a part of political group. Ummmm... hello??? She then basically didn't have her information straight about my ultrasound report and was completely wrong about the results. She never listened to me nor was compassionate about my symptoms. She basically undermined my previous healthcare team as she said "well I went to Duke and this is how things are done." Pretty much every other doctor is wrong despite my significant history. She chalked my symptoms up to stress. I even mentioned that we're getting married tomorrow, and she literally LAUGHED OUT LOUD!! She turned around and she goes "I know that's inappropriate, but that's just funny," and judged my fiancé and I for getting married on a Wednesday. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO FEEL LIKE YOU MATTER AND PEOPLE ARE CONCERNED WITH YOUR CONCERNS. THIS WAS THE WORST PHYSICIAN EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD!!! They neither are compassionate nor listen.

I came here originally because I was drawn to the fact that this was an all female practice. While…read moresome of the treatment i received was decent, I had an IUD placed here that has had my head spinning for months. I have had 2 IUDs placed before, both which were definitely not comfortable but bearable at least. However, not only was the Paragard IUD that I had placed at biltmore so painful I almost tapped out, but so shocking that i almost passed out on my way out of the building. The doctor who placed my device did so alone, and took around 5 minutes to successfully place the IUD, all of which I was telling her that it hurt much more than my last placements, and that I didn't know if i could continue. My doctor completely brushed off my pain and had me sitting in the chair idle and in immense pain with a cervical clamp in place for at least 60 seconds or more at one point as she fumbled with the equipment on the counter. As I said before, I have had these devices placed before, and the whole procedure must have taken under 90 seconds and was simply a few gnarly cramps. Nothing like this. On top of that, I was rushed out of the room shortly after the placement, and I was about a hair away from hitting the deck on my way out of the office. Shortly after leaving, I recieved a passive aggressive phone call from one of the office staff, who almost seemed to be insinuating a drug problem as the reason for my stumble. Yuck! Not only was the application of my IUD absolutely horrible, but the aftermath was as well. Almost immediately after placement, I began suffering with the worst case of BV i have ever had in my life. For months i tried just about everything I could to get rid of this infection to no avail. Finally, I made an appointment with a different Gyno in the area of my college who removed the device effortlessly, and informed me that because the BV was so treatment resistant, it's possible that my IUD was placed in such an unsanitary manner that I had bacteria trapped inside of my cervix. wow! Granted, the Paragard IUD also has an increased risk of BV, but this is something I had to find out on my own regardless. I cannot speak for the OB side of things at this establishment, but what I can tell you is if you want an IUD placed GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I have been a client of the Mills River Pro Physical Therapy location for about two years now. I…read morehave mild, hypertonic cerebral palsy and up until 2022, had not received PT for over a decade. But when I was diagnosed with vestibular-ocular dysfunction, my neurologist prescribed PT as part of the treatment plan. I was pretty nervous to start PT again. I had kind of "cloudy" memories of PT as a kid--people who focused only on what was "wrong" with my body, did not want to relate to me as a person, and used negative reinforcement (do this or you will lose the ability to walk/end up in chronic pain/have to have scary medical procedures). I was afraid the staff at Pro would see me as a "patient" who was just a lot of trouble, a whiner, a disabled person who was "less." I am so pleased to say, I was proven wrong from day one! Everyone at Pro, from the therapists to the office staff, is wonderful. I was treated as a partner in care, an intelligent participant, and someone everyone looked forward to talking with and being around. My questions were always answered thoroughly and my input was valued. I built unique rapport with everyone and learned useful, easy techniques I can do independently at home and keep up with. Additionally, I'm pleased and surprised at how much physical therapy has changed since the '90s. That is, I kind of absorbed a "no pain, no gain" philosophy, so I needed to relearn some things. Namely, just because I was not in pain, didn't mean I wasn't reaping some sort of benefit. Actually, I have always been encouraged to go at my own pace, give myself a lot of grace, and not expect perfection. Not that I'm very good at those last two, you understand, but well, it's a work in progress. I want to give a particular shout-out to Jenny Alderson, Tyler Arring, and Ashley Gibbs as the therapists I worked with the most. They all have wonderful personalities and bring something unique to the table, whether that's humor, empathy, an amazing knowledge of neurology, and often a combination of those and more. Also, a shout-out to Jill and Annie for their patience and gifts with juggling all those schedules! If I didn't mention or work with you, please know I did not mean to leave you out. You were all a huge help and I appreciate that you are just a phone call away. I won't necessarily miss the therapy itself, as it is difficult, but I did love working with everyone. I was so fearful of making my arthritic knees worst in my quest to gain strength before surgery. Celeste has kept me out of pain and has moved me into greater mobility. The space is clean, there is plenty of equipment, and my primary physical therapist Taylor Leiby really listens to me and asks questions when I tell him about what's going on with my body. I want to be challenged with my exercises, and he sure delivers! I have also worked with a couple of other therapists when it wasn't possible to book with Taylor, and they were equally as good and made a point of reading through the notes on my situation prior to meeting with me. Tip: Schedule as many appointments ahead of time as possible to ensure you see your preferred PT at the days/times that work best for you, the slots fill up quickly. They're open until 7pm which is a huge plus for me. The front office people are very friendly and helpful too! I highly recommend this practice A++
