It's rare to get a public Dr. Michael Hurzdan designed course at reasonable prices and the layout and hole design do not disappoint! It's varied, challenging (hole #13 is epic!), and well maintained. The irrigation system upgrade was disruptive and long, but is paying off with very good conditions. The greens are quick, but true and fair. The only downside is the driving range is distant from the first tee - tough on walkers like me.

Not watering fairways currently. There are dry cracks all over Course. No grass in tee boxes and greens have large sand spots. Most gateways have more dirt vs grass. Oh yeah, price is still same. There are too many better place to spend your $75 up north. By the way, this was one of my favorite courses last few years. It's a shame.

They were accommodating with all of the requests we made, and flexible when we had some last minute unplanned foursomes arrive. Without any hesitation, Tyler and his team were in action adjusting for the additional players. His crew was fantastic at helping keep game play moving forward without adding any pressure to players or eliminating the fun from the scramble. We ended up with 32 foursomes on the course, and had great reviews from the players about the condition of the course itself. Tyler was present throughout the entire tournament, making sure we had everything we needed. You won't be disappointed if you consider Coyote Creek and Tyler and his team for your next event!

First time playing this course with my son - he's new to golf. Sunday Oct 22. The course was good and it was a beautiful day. But the way the course manages the traffic is not good. The course doesn't use martials. No one is out there managing the traffic. We are in a cart, 4 veteran, large-framed guys behind us with hand carts. They had a 1:08, We had a 1:10. They were late getting to the front nine so the starter sent us out first. They were ticked by that I guess and pushed us the whole time - they didn't putt at all. One of them had a self-driving bag cart that followed him independently. Not sure if that is a luxury item or is needed for incontinence. I'm sure these guys are regulars and if you golf here much you've probably seen them. We pushed the folks in front of us the whole time. Even without the martial, it seemed the pace went well. We only had to wait a couple times. Young kid from the pro shop met us at the back end of hole 9 derisively told us to go to the pro shop. Went in and they told us the guys behind us were complaining about the pace, and wanted us to re-do the front 9. I pushed back, they comped us so I agreed. With a new golfer it was good to get experience of re-doing the front 9. Also good to get the experience of what a poorly managed course is like. Probably won't play here again. I'm sure the old guys had a membership and are generally miserable to be on the course with. Not too worried about that. But they need to start using martials here rather than letting the unpleasant element of their membership drive their traffic flow.

My review takes into account the drought conditions we are currently having in Colorado. For the price the overall condition of the course is terrible. The fairways have a lot of dead grass spots and about a third of the greens are in similar condition. The City of Westminster should post the current poor conditions of course so golfers can decide if they want to pay that much for a round of golf given there current poor conditions.

The flags are those windsocks you would see near runways. Very cool. Great layout but most views are of the control tower or an office building. Very walkable with two long transfers (9 to 10 and 12 to 13). Greens are honestly boring. Very flat pushup greens for the most part. Fairways were soaking wet and the greens were firm. Tough combo for scoring that day. Otherwise, the architect did a great job navigating both sides of the major road that splits the course into two. The back 9 shines. 13 is a big, uphill par 5 with a split fairway after the tee shot. That third shot is straight up the hill. Then 14 is a short but tough par 3. Infinity green that was playing downwind with a front pin. Really cool hole. 15 and 16 are cool par 4s that dogleg in opposite ways. With 16, the second shot over water was nerve racking. 17 is a par 3 brute from the tips. 18 is that long par 5 with water all up the right side that plays towards the range and practice greens. Fun track and well worth the greens fee. I'll definitely try and come back and play more putts straight(er).

As a kid, I used to sell golf balls here and Mitch (the GM) would always chase me off the course in his golf cart. Mitch was relentless in his pursuit and would pocket any cash he could get off you. The front area is welcoming and the rear is devoted to golf. We're all probably pretty familiar with the technology by now, so not much new there. The lesson I had, though, was really great. I didn't feel rushed or pressured, just relaxed and accommodated. Tom and I spent some talking about my game , thoughts I had, thoughts he had, all while I was loosening up. Then we got to it. I won't get into the details of the lesson, but will I got three major takeaways and my swing and resulting shots into the screen were already producing results. Who could ask for more?! Tom obviously knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. Just what I was looking and hoping for.

Brunch at the club restaurant, 18 holes here teeing off at noon. Beers and stories apres-golf there. Then head up the mountains to play Keystone River 2xs, then The Raven at Three Peaks, then Golden Valley Ranch before the out-of-staters fly home. Fossil Trace is always the perfect way to start and adjust to the altitude a bit and enjoy the high "fun factor" of this great Jim Engh designed course. We hope to return again next summer with a Sunday tee time around 9am to beat the heat and get an earlier start up the mountains. Kudos to Fossil Trace for their super friendly, helpful staff.
