However no one told us about the 9 hole course was under massive repair on holes 7 and 8 . #7 not even worth playing in it's condition or lack of a green! with no signs explaining what is going on! #8 cut short by 60-80 yards with out a tee box not as bad as #7 .. Paying full price for this is unacceptable $$ Other than that the course is in good shape. But not giving customers an option to know what's happening is bad practice!! read more

overcharged for rental clubs and slowest pace I've played in years. rentals are advertised as 15$ a bag and we were charged 23$. not to mention the course is under construction and they don't mark distances for temporary greens (fairway greens...). Hyland golf has recently started using a new online only system for doing golf related business. Myself and several others that have tried to book online tee times have found that their new system doesn't work for us. The customer service personnel at the pro shop can answer the phone but they are no longer allowed to provide golf tee time services using the phone. They have offered phone tech support by one of their young tech savy employees if youd like to stop by. Ive been around this course since the 60s, its a sad day to see that systems and new policy's have become their focus rather than customers. read more

Great course that isn't too difficult and usually able to get a tee time the week before. The bar is convenient in the morning when you need a bloody or mimosa to go for your cart. The course is well enough maintained, not amazing but also not dingy either. Reading the other reviews, apparently it seems you either have the worst experience or the best. We've had middle of the row every time and like coming here for a casual round of golf. read more

The course is fantastic and great fun to play, if you have 5 and a half hours to play 18. This is by far the worst paced golf course in Denver I have played at, and that includes the city courses like Kennedy and Evegreen. They seemingly don't care about keeping players to a reasonable pace of play - I haven't played the blue course (9 holes) in under 2.5 hours ever, and just finished the gold course (18 holes) in 5 hours 15 minutes. read more

Finished 16 holes in just under 4 hours before we called it for rain and lightning. Great carts with color screens. We did come across a 5-some ahead of us - did not help the speed of play. Not a great golfer, but have been playing the South Par 3 for 20+ years a couple of times a summer and have always had a great time. Got a rare "date" with our teenagers and decided to go do an evening golf outing. Reserved a tee time for 4 WITH CARTS through THEIR website for 5:40. Drove the 30 min to get there and went to check in. The girl in the pro shop tells me it's just walking on the south course today. I explained that my reservation said with carts (that's part of the fun for the kids) and that there were at least 20 carts parked out front. She said sorry, but they "can't see the website reservations" so there's no way for you to know if you'll actually have carts even if that's what you reservation says. It's too bad. It's the first course either of my kids ever golfed on and we really loved the laid back feel of the par 3 but I don't know if we'll go back. read more

Some pretty cool views, really good layout from the tips, greens were rolling about a 9, course was in good shape, and no slow play. The bros in the golf shop were annoyed by customers existence. Can't say I've seen course like this that allows backwards hats, untucked shirts, and just crap attitudes. But if you don't mind that experience, the course is pretty good. My son got a concussion during golf lessons at Hyland Hills. The instructors crammed a bunch of kids onto the driving range , failed to give them adequate spacing, care, or safety instruction, and he was smacked. After it happened, they didn't even bother to call us to let us know what happened. We had to run around searching for him after he was missing during pick up time. We arrived to pick him up right on time. The instructors just let all the kids go a minute early. We assumed our son was still on the driving range with the instructors, but he wasn't. We asked two instructors where he was and they were like, "I don't know, all the kids just kinda decided to go." The one who said this was a young man, and the older man with him snickered and nudged the young man not to say stuff like that. My husband ran toward the lodge to look for our son and found him sitting at the table with two guys, an ice pack, a bandaid on the bridge of his nose, and blood spattered all over him. They thought he didn't have a concussion, but when it was time to stand up and go, my son couldn't stand. We put him in the car and he started falling asleep. We took him straight to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion. Two days later, no call from the Hyland Hills Golf, no follow up asking how he is doing. No mention of the full incident report they told us they would give us a copy of. I was pissed at this point, at the total lack of human decency or follow through, especially considering it involved A YOUNG BOY'S MAJOR INJURY ON THEIR TIME! I called the Executive Director of Hyland Hills, Yvonne Fischbach, and left a message. I figured she needed to know the abysmal experience we have had in one of her facilities, and that those employees were essentially ignoring the fact it happened. She didn't bother herself to call back. BTW, here's a quote from Yvonne from an article about her golf club, "The Last Word with... Yvonne Fischbach, November 1, 2016 by Deborah Vence. As the executive director of Hyland Hills, Fischbach's primary goal is to continue the legacy of providing first-class recreational facilities and opportunities to the community. "We will ensure that our facilities are kept up to the highest standards for our guests..." "We will also continue to reach out to our community and guests to make sure we are providing them with the services that are important to them and continue to give them the best possible recreational experience," she added. Haha. Good one. My husband went to Hyland Hills Golf Course the following week to follow up with them and get the full incident report. He had a meeting with their total prick of a GM, Val Heim, who proceeded to insinuate our child is mentally ill because he was hit with a club and that's on him. Our son is 7 BTW. So there ya go. IMO, this place has irresponsible, negligent employees with bad attitudes and no decency. Believe the bad reviews and don't send your kids here. read more

Not a good golf course. In fact, some of the holes are laid out where you are not rewarded for hitting a good tee shot. Holes #3, #15, #17 & #18 are head scratchers. There are obstructions to the green even if you are good fairway shot. Sometimes I wonder if Helen Keller was hired to design the course. Plus, course is not very well maintained. I play at Legacy Ridge, and feel like it's much better maintained. Service at the bar/restaurant is slow. read more

Had an extremely disturbing experience here. Our family friends are from out of town visiting so we said let's go play the par 3. When he tried to buy something from the cafe, he was told something was "too pricey". When he inquired about a hot dog, he was told they don't serve hot dogs until lunch, despite someone else eating a hot dog nearby. It's already hard to get new people into the game, but when their treat with blatant disrespect, you can see why. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TOLD SOMETHING IS TOO PRICEY WHEN TRYING TO BUY SOMETHING AT THE COURSE. A 13 year old black kid should never ever ever be treated like this at any golf course. read more

Scheduled a tee time to play today a week ago. We haven't had snow in between the reservation and today. Apparently at 5:30 last night, they needed to cancel my reservation. No they didn't call or apologize, or give me any notice through the week, they just simply sent a text message saying it was canceled. That is the most passive form of terrible customer service I've experienced in a while. I'd say book a tee time for yourself but they probably won't honor it. read more

Sometimes when I use the bathroom in the morning it takes longer than expected. When I try and climb a flight of stairs after three hip replacements it takes longer than expected. That's life. When go out golfing, I don't think it'll take longer than expected. That's something I can count on. Often times when I go here it takes much longer than expected. Keep my $16, but I'm leaving. It would be nice if you used my $16 for a customer service primer for at least one of your employees. There are obvious changes that come with COVID. Got the chance to interact with the gentleman who yelled at me for pulling on the locked door of the pro shop. He says "what do you want." He then starts to walk away from me, so am I am following around this employee trying to get answers to my questions. I tell him I am just trying to rent a cart for my tee time, he asks what time I am up. I say 4:15. "Well, tee times are in 10 minute increments.. so..." Still walking away from me. Well I must be mistaken, it must be 4:10. "We aren't even doing carts for Par 3 courses, so you can't." Ok, can we get a hand cart? "I don't even know if there are any over there. You can't go in the clubhouse that's the rules. You have to call and pay for it." Ok, so I just call and rent a handcart? "It's like 4:05 you are supposed to be on the box right now." Keep the $16, I walked back to my truck and left. I understand things have changed over the last couple months and it's a stressful time -- but that was the worst customer service I have encountered in a long time. read more

If you enjoy 5+ hour rounds, at the same price, if not more expensive than other public courses in the area... hyland hills is for you. Their actual lay out is fun, and can be challenging (when their greens are actually in good shape). I understand courses need to make money, but hyland hills takes over booking to an entirely different level. Don't bother unless it's a week day, or you tee off before 630am. read more

So much fun! A beautiful course (including a great Par-3!!), and gorgeous new clubhouse surrounded by well kept gardens. Also a big putt-putt place on the other side of the parking lot but have not checked out. We stayed for dinner on clubhouse patio one night and had a very nice time! I hope to go back when they have the large fire-pit burning. I think they were understaffed -on perhaps an unexpectedly busy night- so service was pretty slow, but friendly. At least we weren't in a hurry... (which I never get at a golf course anyway.) There was a pretty good selection of food on the menu, although the salad was very basic and not very crispy lettuce. I hope they are just working through some opening kinks or something and that it will get better... still a beautiful spot for a beer! read more

I've played here 5 times now, and I actually love the Gold course! HOWEVER, the customer service here is the ABSOLUTE WORST!!! They should take notes from the other courses in the area that have a MUCH better customer experience! They are short staffed and they are just plain rude. My wife and I have been playing here for over 20 years and it is a great course for the average golfer. They have and 18 hole course and a 9 hole plus a par 3. The dress code does need to be improved you get some real mutts on the course. The new club house is fantastic. We had lunch here on Sunday and the food was good and the service was outstanding. I'm sorry some people had a bad experence. I think they need to give it one more try. read more

WORST GOLF EXPERIENCE EVER: I was taking out my two sales reps, who hit their goals this past month. Sadly when we showed up to the driving range to celebrate their achievements, I paid $10 for a large bucket to realize THERE WHERE NO BALLS IN THE MACHINE. How is there no golf balls at a golf course?! You had one job. It's honestly beyond me. The employee in the shack told us that he needed to contact the pro shop to get someone out here to pick up the balls on the range and to WAIT 30 MINUTES?! Outraged, I decided this was not worth the 30 minute wait and left. Now I'm down $10, had to break a promise I held for both my sales reps for hitting their goals and most importantly will never go back to Hyland Hills Golf Course ever again. read more

This is coming from a very reliable source who has played the course over 20 times in the last month. In terms of the course itself, it's great. Greens read fair and fast and the course is kept in good condition for being public. Customer service has improved from reading past reviews and setting up a tee time is managable. Cost is cheap and thought it matched the course and it's conditions. However, I would only play this course if you have 4-6 hours on hand. This is one of the slowest golf courses i have ever played and the golf etiquette is pretty bad in terms of who plays there. It is always packed, and there has been times i have waited on consecutive tee boxes for 10-15 minutes. I would recommend this course but not to those who like to play fast and find it hard to deal with crappy golfers. 3.5 is my overall rating, but I can bump it to 4 read more

A go-to place for locals who want cheap golf. For an inexpensive tune-up, this is a good place to come and concentrate on your iron play or short game. Be prepared for slow play, inexperienced players, and plain old hackers. But that's what you get at these types of places that really cater to kids and the par-3-course type of crowd. THIS is THE place to play for beginners. I brought my wife here to play the Par 3s as she was learning the game (she subsequently gave up, but who knows maybe someday right?) Serious golfers will likely look elsewhere, but this is a fun family golf place or laid-back day off. It is best to come during the week, as weekends can be crowded and slow. You don't have to worry about dress codes or any snobbery, it just isn't that kind of place. read more

Played this course for a company tournament. It's a great course with lots of trees, a bit of water and some sand. Not too many hazards but enough to keep me challenged. It had been raining the day before we played, so we had to play cart path golf. Not being able to drive on the fairways made for a really long day of golf. The club house and the rest of the facilities are really nice. The only thing I really didn't like is how far away the driving range is. read more
