Ginn Field - how you've changed…read more This is a big soccer/softball field in Winchester, near the Wedgemere T station. The soccer and softball areas haven't changed in 20 years. The playground has. When I was a kid, it was all rusty swingsets and one of those deadly spinner-things - remember them? Almost broke my neck on that. It was replaced years ago by a giant wooden 2-story playground structure. Kids LOVE it. Got a number of slides, sandbox, seperate small "fort" for the small ones, swings. It's in OK shape. I am always surprised that the kids don't get splinters here. It's WOOD. But it's been so worn down over the years that it's all smooth. Private parking lot - not terribly big but at least they got it - assuming you can find the entrance (hint: go to the post office). The playground structure was all the rage when it was built - but it's dated now. Wood? All the new ones have plastic and steel. Ice cream truck will stop by, though. Side note: remember the flood of '96? Ginn Field filled up like a bowl of cereal. I'm not kidding. It's sort of a bowl-shape in and of itself, and it's right next to the Aberjona River, which itself used to flow straight through where the current field is now. Just remember, that where you're standing, was once 10 feet under in water and sewage..... yum.

Both are completely fenced in by new black chain-link fence with closable doors. Both have that rubbery-surface thing going on which is awesome. Both have great jungle-gym sets made of all that new steel and plastic. They are both open for public use all the time and are plain awesome. They are different in that one is smaller and made for the younger kids, but the big kids will love it too. The main one along Washington Street is huge - has a giant slide, 2 tubes to climb through, and awesome climbing things. Kids love it. It's great cause once kids get bored of one playground, just walk around the corner to the next one. Awesome place to kill time with your nephews.

You didn't grow up in Winchester unless you played soccer. There is a teeny-tiny parking lot for this field. There is also street parking avaiable - but be careful - Washington St is wicked busy. After walking down a small hill, you'll find the field in front of you - mostly people play soccer here. There is a basketball court too, which is in decent shape. There's also a playground tucked in the back - and it's all right. My nephews like it enough so that we go there from time to time. It has a little rock-wall climbing thing and your typical jungle gym too. Kinda sunny here - no shade nearby. Sort of a long walk back to the car across the fields, but - well at least it's never very crowded at this "hidden" playground...

My friend and I came here on a Saturday morning. I didn't realize there were so many parking lots…read morearound, but we parked where the GPS took us. We walked a bit to the right and there were so many dogs - it must be an unofficial dog park, or happy hour for the dogs. They were all so cute. My friend had come before so he recommend we walk to Wright's Tower since it gives a vast view of the neighboring houses and landscape but also Boston in the far distance. It was a perfect hike of about 45 minutes there, and about an hour back since we did trailblaze a bit. We were following a GPS, but there are colors and signs periodically on the trees to guide you through the trails. I wouldn't say its too scenic, but it is relaxing and the terrain is perfect, with some spots being intermediate level but mostly all of it being beginner or easy. We did see some people on bikes, and others jogging. When we got to the tower, we went inside and climbed the stairs to the top. From there, you can look out in all directions to get some really nice views. It is worth the climb. We plan on eventually going back and trying longer or more challenging trails. But overall I think it's a gem that isn't too far from the city.

My two-year-old daughter absolutely loves it here--every visit brings unforgettable memories, nonstop fun, and endless smiles. The space is clean, safe, and packed with activities that keep little ones entertained for hours. The owners, Douglas and Steven, are extremely welcoming and make you feel at home the moment you walk in. Their kindness and dedication really set this place apart. Big shout-out to Douglas--he goes above and beyond by dressing up as Elmo and even Santa Claus during the holidays, which makes the experience extra magical for the kids. Ok the Birthday Party is FINALLY over, its such a relief... It went off without any major…read morecomplications except for Hurricane Irene!!! But No wind can keep us down... So Jump on In was a GREAT TIME... All the adults had more fun than the kids... All the kids had a great time... My son (he turned 2) was completely running all up & down all the rides (Bounce house things - whatever you call them)... I was apprehensive that he wouldnt know what to do, but he ran right up them & down the slides... He was loving it... The refs we had for the party were great, at no point did we feel that they were naggy or even picking... They actually never had to speak to anyone, maybe had to save someone once or twice that was stuck but other than that they were great... They had the Party room set up wonderfully, they served the Pizza & cut the cake like professionals... I honestly have never in my life seen a cake cut soo perfect & soo fast... We did have the 2 Hour party & it was cramped for time in the Party room... We had 45 mins to Eat Pizza, Cake & Do presents & sing... It was tight... But we made it happen & then like any party we all began to congregate in the lobby & I think the place was sick of us & wanted us out (we were a big party)... Other than just wishing I had more time, there is nothing I can complain about... Just a note, if you bring drinks there - bring a method to keep them cold on your own, Ice in a bucket, Pre-Frozen, whatever... Just putting the drinks in the fridge didnt get our drinks cold in time... Dad & I actually spoke about it & said we might just have Next Years party there also... It was really a good time & I even climbed my big ass Up & down the rides & it was Fun!!! Just remember to bring socks & tuck your arms in like they tell you - all the kids have burns on their arms from the slides... It was also a little pricey - but totally worth it because they do everything, clean up, serving the food, providing the utensils... We just showed up with Cake & Drinks... We are going to go back and book a day when its Open Gym to just play & see how it is one day, Ill update review when we do...

I have hosted many of my daughter's birthdays at Jump on in Boston and figured we would give Woburn a try. Lets start with the music never once came on, may not be a big deal to some but after coming home and realizing that we had no music was pretty annoying specially because they advertise it. Our "referees" were OK, like most of their staff very young. Like I mentioned before, I been to JOI in Boston and the staff has always been extra energetic and involved. These girls only really came around to tell us time was up, one of the girls did try to get a group picture but it was impossible (party was for a 2 y/o). But for the most part they kept to themselves. Overall it was pleasant but definitely consider spending a little more for the extra time, when you have a bunch of toddlers /small kids it's needed.
