Claudia Shafer was the attorney who handled my mom's estate. Mom specifically needed help with a…read moretrust, when one of her heirs found themselves in some financial hot water. Mom requested a SPEND THRIFT clause that would protect her assets from creditors. When my mom passed away, we discovered Ms. Shafer had not properly written the trust as was requested. Following my mom's death Ms. Shafer failed to file the necessary papers with the county recording office as she said she would do. When confronted, she blamed everyone else but herself. She was difficult to get a hold of and claimed she returned call when she did not. She charges a $600 retainer following mom's death and never spent one hour conducting business on my behalf. When I asked about billing and a summery of time spent she promptly terminated her trustee services. Better to steer clear of this Murphy's, CA Attorney, Claudia Shafer
