We…read morehad been with a broker for the past 15 years, and somehow my insurance was dropped because the auto pay did not go through. So we found ourselves without insurance. Our broker was asking us to apply for a new policy, and to fill out a ton of paperwork, and drive it across town. It seemed like a lot of effort on my part, and I really didn't know if I was getting a fair price or good coverage. So I called Alicia to see what she could tell me, only as a comparison. Alicia asked if I had 15 minutes to answer a few questions, and she input all of my information on the spot. She had specific recommendations about my coverage, and she clearly knew what she was doing. She even asked me random questions about our home and property, because when we bundled several things together, we got a lower rate- insuring more for less money. At the end of it, with Farmers Insurance and the policy that Alicia had put together, we would be saving a good amount of money. The day after I called her, I was signing papers in her office for our coverage- and it was anything but difficult on my end. She offered me a cappuccino, and had a place for my kids to preoccupy themselves (art, stuffed animals, a doll house!) while I was there. I didn't wait at all, and Alicia and her team made it a seamless and fun experience. I could tell her employees enjoyed working for her, which confirmed what I had thought about her character. She took my mess of a situation and took care of everything we needed. She made my life so much easier, simply because she is thorough, and excellent at what she does. And she is super friendly and fun to be around, which is huge. She also told me that I could text her and reach her anytime, that was the benefit of having a personal agent. Well, we put that to the test last weekend when our car was broken into after a Giants game. I texted her at 10pm, and she got back to me right away, even helped walk me through setting up an appointment online with a repair service. She told me if I couldn't get an appt soon, to let her know because there was a local place she'd worked with that may be able to get me in. She checked in with me about it, and when I told her I couldnt get an appointment, she called the local glass repair shop, gave them all my information, and all I had to do was call them to confirm the date and time I preferred. I told my husband she is a boss- she multitasks, and gets the job done thoroughly and efficiently. And I tell Alicia that she is in the business of making my life easier! I would absolutely recommend Alicia to anyone who wants a smart, thorough, caring, genuine person as their insurance agent, to make that aspect of your life much easier and pleasant. Alicia literally save our butts from making a terrible decision choosing not only a bad company but also the complete wrong policy for what we needed. Since that day Alicia saved us we decided changed our business and personal policies over to her. She goes out of her way on a regular basis to make sure that we are doing well and to see if we need any help. We love and her and are so happy we made the change when we did. She is more than our agent, she has become like family to us! Thank you Alicia for everything you do to ensure we are on the right track :)

    I don't recommend AARP New York Life for insurance at all. They send out "offers" to AARP…read moresubscribers, but then provide horrible customer service. First they want money from seniors up-front with the application, but then ghost you afterward. The agent I had, Nelson Costa, didn't call me back when he said he would on two occasions. The first non-response was when he said he would call me. The second non-response was when I called and tried to track down answers. Again, he said he would call me. Even now, I don't any place I can complain to except here on Yelp. The worst part was getting the long letter explaining why they won't insure me. I read it today and thought about this past year with Covid-19 Pandemic, community shut-downs, and the very recent loss of my mother. I looked again at what they said in their denial letter and I thought, what a horrible way they do business! I don't need anything they have to offer and I bet most people don't either. Rating - Pretty poor. Never doing business with this company.

    Communication. When you are working in insurance, communication is key. If a client is stuck on the…read moreroadway in rush hour traffic in Stockton and not only does the agent not answer their phone but leaves no instructions for the roadside service, well you get it. This is just one example of the lack of service I along with my 18 year old daughter experienced with Mrs. Sordi. Shoot forward a few months and suddenly the new insurance takes 3 times the monthly charge in one swipe. If you tell a client " I'll call you in a few days" when they reach out to you and it turns into 6 days and $$ still not returned? The rates were great! No doubt. BUT when your clients rely on you for help and service and your communication is about as effective as making smoke signs using fire, ya you get it. Lastly, when the client ( ya me) tells you I no longer need your services, cancel my insurance and all you do is say okay and not even offer to try and fix the problem, well you feel like one the misfit toys. Oh ya, because I was forced to call my bank and report fraud charges and stop the payment, I found even better insurance through Costco. Ameriprise not only beat Mrs. Sordi , they actually communicate with you and call you back in the same hour!
