I saw Dr TSAI after seeing my PCP and a Dr at a walk-in clinic. I completed three Rounds of antibiotics- and I was left with horrible hearing loss. Dr TSAI conducted a thorough interview, and proceeded to perform a thorough and comprehensive examination. He sent me to the audiologist and we saw each other immediately after. He reviewed the results and proposed a course of treatment, with a follow-up in two weeks. My entire experience was fantastic. I found Dr TSAI to be a careful listener. Dr. Tsai is probably the single best doctor I've had the pleasure of working with. The rest of this review is just details (minus private medical info). I've had certain ENT problems for a while, and I decided to finally get them checked out. I found Dr. Tsai on ZocDoc, with very positive reviews, and scheduled a consultation. That consultation was very educational and helpful: he patiently and thoroughly listened to my descriptions and stories, did some tests, and gave me his very clear opinion with supporting facts. He even patiently drew diagrams and took notes for me as he was explaining the science! Right from the start, he talked to me about two options for fixing my issue: medicine and surgery. I'd never had surgery before, so I was obviously nervous/anxious about that route, but also eager to fix my issue. He patiently explained the trade-offs of the two routes and gave his opinion that, in my case, he was very confident that surgery would fix my particular issue (because my symptoms were on the extreme side). But he agreed that it was worth trying medicine first, so that's what we did. The medicine didn't prove effective, so we again discussed surgery. And even though we had discussed some of it already, he still took the time to walk me through everything again to make sure I was comfortable. I asked a number of questions, and he was always patient in listening and answering. I ultimately decided to move forward with surgery, and he performed it. Right from the first day of recovery, he was then *extremely* responsive with any questions or concerns I had as I recovered. He gave me and my wife both his 24-hour phone number and his email address. I emailed him probably 10 times over the course of my first week of recovery, and he often responded to each email within *minutes*. And when we needed to call him once, late at night, we had to wait only a few minutes for him to get to the phone. (My wife has experienced much longer wait times with other doctors.) Dr. Tsai's biggest strengths are his patience and bedside manner. He makes me feel entirely safe and assured in his care. If you want a doctor that'll truly give you a personal touch, and not a doctor that just walks in for 2 minutes to give the formal diagnosis and walks out again, I can't recommend Dr. Tsai highly enough. If I ever have any ENT issue again, he will definitely be the first doctor I see. read more

HIS OFFICE STAFF are extremely unprofessional and rude. While experiencing severe ear pain I called to make an appointment. Immediately, I was put on hold for over 5mins and when SUSAN returned to the call she only picked up to put me on hold, to then hang up. THE SAME THING HAPPENED 3MORE TIMES!! On my 5TH call I expressed my concern, she then stated that there was nothing that she could do about what happened the FOUR other times AND harshly said, "do you want to make an appointment OR NOT?!" --WTF?!-- I explained that I was in SEVERE PAIN and of course NEEDED to make an appointment but was extremely surprised at her tone and unprofessionalism. She then asked, "ARE YOU DONE? There are other people on the line. It's either I make an appointment for you or I can HANG UP." --OMG, were my ears deceiving me?! Did I not just call a professional establishment to give them MY money?! I was shocked, confused and frustrated. -- Thanks Dr. Tsai for your great work previously, but the unprofessionalism at your office is worth me taking my business somewhere else. :( read more

My visit was extremely unhelpful, he did some tests and then basically told me nothing was wrong. The biggest problem though was that my insurance didn't entirely cover the bill, and rather than contacting me directly by phone, email, mail, etc., his office sent the bill, which was a small amount, directly to a collection agency. I would've gladly paid it had I been contacted and told about it. read more

I saw Dr. Tsai when I was pregnant, and today, with my 2.5 year old son. Both times he was on time, explained in detail what he would do, and solved the problem as painlessly as possible. He was especially gentle with my toddler, who allowed him to put a camera up his nose - there were no tears or whimpers as he was quick and efficient. I recently went to see Dr. Tsai to get my tonsils looked at and my ears cleaned. I was so impressed! I have always had one tonsil that was larger than the other, and it has caused me problems. Dr. Tsai was so knowledgable about the tonsil composition and how it worked. He even drew me a full picture with every nook and cranny. He gave me detailed answers about what was going on in my throat, and not some vague fluff that you hear from other doctors. I was so impressed by him that I sent my father there to have his ears cleaned. He also had a great experience. For anyone who needs an Ears, Nose & Throat doctor, I strongly recommend Dr. Gregroy Tsai. He knows what he's doing!!. read more

I'm not sure what people are complaining about, but I've seen Dr. Tsai for tonsillitis a few times and I have been impressed (compared to other doctors). He spent a lot of time with me listening to all my concerns and I never felt rushed. He answered follow up questions via email with great detail! Highly recommended. I went to Tsai back a couple years ago for a consultation and decided that he was not a doctor i wanted to see. I provided him my insurance information during my visit and paid my copay during visit. I have not been contacted since so i assumed all was covered by insurance company. Today i go to check my credit score and see that he has sent my account to some collection agency. I was not contacted once about owing any money. This has to be illegal, looking at some of the other reviews it seems he has done this before. I can not get in touch with the collection agency or his office. read more

I had an absolutely TERRIBLE experience with Dr. Tsai's office and am only posting because of the level of incompetence exhibited. I'm sure he's a very knowledgeable doctor and he was a nice guy in person but his office is the least professionally run operation I've ever seen. I went for a sleep study and after checking me out, they directed me to take a home test from a lab. Upon completing the test and submitting the results to the lab, I called up Dr. Tsai's office a week later for the results. The receptionist told me that she couldn't help and that both the doctor and his assistant were unavailable but that she'd take down my name/number and someone--the assistant or Dr. Tsai--would call me back with my results. No one called back. I then called up LITERALLY 3 more times over the following month to get some answers and EACH AND EVERY TIME was told that no one was there to answer my questions and instead someone would call me back. Again, no one ever did. FINALLY over a month later, I was told by the receptionist that his (phantom) assistant told her that they never received the results from the lab. First, if that was the case, why didn't they A) tell me that in the first place and B) call the lab to find out what the delay was?!?! I was then told to call the lab myself as it wasn't their responsibility to make sure results were sent. NICE! More importantly, upon calling the lab directly, they were able to immediately tell me that they had indeed sent the results to Dr. Tsai's office nearly a month earlier and had a fax confirmation to prove successful transmission (which they then sent me). Upon calling Dr. Tsai's office to inform them of this, that news was greeted with a "well, we didn't receive it" (odd since the confirmation said it was successfully transmitted) and "tell them to send it to us again." Again, nice! The lab then sent the results for a second time. Finally a few days later while I was away, I received a voicemail/email from Dr. Tsai with a brief apology for the miscommunication (telling me to email him directly in the future to "bypass the inefficiencies of the secretaries"), offering a vague 2-sentence summary of the lab results and then telling me that if I am interested in discussing further to contact him. This came literally A MONTH AND 5 DAYS after the test was completed. I received no follow up. Bottom line, a horrible experience requiring me to badger his unhelpful and unprofessional office time and again. You've been warned. read more

Dr. Tsai is wonderful-- he's been my ENT Doctor for a few years now and I have never had a problem. He takes the time to actually listen to you and does not rush. He also gives very thorough explanations and also gave me plenty of information to take home for reference. His assistant Carol is also very helpful. Dr. Tsai performed a very successful tonsillectomy for me recently and I cannot thank him enough for the great work and bedside manner shown by Dr. Tsai and his wonderful team. Dr. Tsai is a kind hearted Dr. who is very professional and deeply cares about his patients. He was able to fit me in on short notice because I was having a very painful sinus infection. He was very compassionate and thorough with his care for me. In addition to the sinus infection, I enquired about my deviated septum and he took time even after my appointment to exam this. The receptionist's telephone manner is the worst I have ever experienced. She made a mistake when I confirmed the date of the appointment, but never admit her mistake. And, her telephone manner is very very rude and when the response is not what she likes, she just yells in a very rude manner. It is too bad that the office gives a very bad impression to a potential patient because of the staff the doctor's office has. read more

I had the worst experience ever with Dr. Tsai. He performed a tonsillectomy on me which caused many complications, therefore, huge medical bills. Two days after surgery, I experienced bleeding, went to the Dr. Tsai's office immediately and had them cauterized then he shooed me on my way despite my concerns. I woke up 6 days after surgery chocking on my own blood, ran to the ER as it was the weekend, and had to be cauterized again. Dr. Tsai was unable to help as he was away at a business conference - (which I'm sure is code for him being at his Hamptons house as it was a beautiful summer weekend). I went home after my visit to the ER, slept until 11pm, woke up, showered, and as I sat down on my couch blood began pouring out of my mouth like a waterfall. Once again, Dr. Tsai was unable to come and re-do the surgery he originally botched because he was away. I do not recommend Dr. Tsai for any treatment, ever. read more

I have seen many ENT doctors in the area but have never come upon one as thorough, experienced, and honest as Dr. Greg Tsai. I visited Dr. Tsai a couple of times for extreme tonsil pain and inflammation / other times for strep throat or cold symptoms, and each time, he has offered me detailed explanations and advice on how to treat these symptoms. I also called in after my appointment several times and had my follow-up questions answered promptly and in detail through email. In the past, I have personally experienced ENT doctors who go straight to recommending the most lucrative solutions like surgery and complicated procedures which are absolutely unnecessary, and that can be very frustrating. Dr. Tsai, on the other hand, knows what is best for his patients, and I can always trust him to give me an honest opinion. His knowledge, patience, and kindness have helped me through times of intense pain and luckily, I was able to recover quickly each time. Would highly recommend Dr. Tsai. read more
