Good general ENT for hearing test, unfortunately, he didn't recognize vertigo as a symptom of BPPV and vestibular migraines in a patient with hearing condition, and only prescribed Prednisone. I set an appt for an ear wax cleaning. That's all I wanted. I have never gotten one before and I was sure I needed it. Dr. Kaiserman did not even offer to do this. He checked my ear for one second and said "It's clean." Then he had me take a hearing test and tried to get me to go home with a sleep study. So disappointed because I have been looking forward to this cleaning for a week. Also, I hate going to a doctor and feeling like I'm at a car repair shop fearing that they are going to try to upsell me somehow. So now...the hunt for an ear cleaning continues. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews and in this case, I hate it even more. During my visit, I actually thought my experience was average to fairly positive. Yes, I waited awhile, but that's to be expected. Still, I felt I had my issue taken care of and the receptionist was really nice to me on my way out. Score. Cut to, I get my bill. I was blown away. When I came in, it turned out I had a sinus infection. The doctor also removed some ear wax from my ears. Fine. But for a specialist that was in my network, I ended up with a bill that was nearly $600! For a sinus infection! It's incredible. When I looked over my bill, it was true that each "procedure" I was charged for had been done, but I felt duped because certain things that cost me an extraordinary amount of money were not explained to me as such - for example, what was sold to me as a pretty basic "let's take a look" ended up being a surgery!! It is true that I signed a piece of paper before I went in that seemed to suggest what was to come...but I still would have liked some verbal warning.... At the end of the day, I get it, it's a business, but it didn't make me feel any less victimized. I think you should be able to trust doctors, rather than having to second guess every move they make. I guess I learned my lesson. And I am super sad that an experience I thought was good ended up as such a horrible one.... read more

Dr. Kaiserman was funny and warm, and I appreciated my experience with him - however, I didn't realize I couldn't use my card for a copay as it's cash or check only, and the service he uses is annoying and unprofessional. It literally took me a week to pay a copay after many calls, and when I finally did, they kept calling me back for no reason, with "oh you paid already," and promptly hung up while I was in mid sentence. It's like an SNL skit. Seriously Dr. Kieserman, update your system and pay the small fee it takes to have a credit card machine. Your office manager would also really appreciate it. read more

Kieserman and his practice suck. You should go here if you want an extremely rushed, rude, and over-priced experience. First, you will be given the absolute minimal attention possible from his staff. After waiting a half hour to see him, he will then work as fast as humanly possible to get you out of his office, interrupt you when you try to speak, and make absolutely zero effort to get your opinion on what your issues are. You will then be quickly escorted back to the waiting area where you will be told that someone 'will be with you in 10 minutes' to schedule a follow-up appointment. After 30 minutes of radio silence from his staff, you will try to ask them what is taking so long, and they will quickly dismiss you back to the waiting area. Another 15 minutes will go by before you give up and walk out without scheduling the follow-up, kicking yourself for ever making the appointment in the first place and annoyed at all the positive reviews this guy gets on Yelp and Zocdoc. A month or two later, you (not your insurance, but you) will be charged $200 for an appointment that lasted that lasted 180 seconds. And that photo of him has to be about 30-40 years out-dated. read more

I was looking for help with clogged, inflamed inner ears and searched online for a highly-rated doctor. I had never had a problem before but was suddenly deaf and uncomfortable. I looked online and found Dr. Kieserman. I got an appointment right away and realized the flip side of that convenience when I arrived at the office: the waiting room was full and the doctor was double-booked. When he did see me, he fixed my ears, but he didn't wear gloves (did sanitize his hands with a spray) and used instruments that he didn't sterilize. After he cleaned my ears, he asked if I had ever considered a nose job. Again, I was here for my ears... He said it looked like it had been broken and twisted to the right. He told me to consider cosmetic surgery. Then he felt my throat and told me my thyroid felt enlarged and I should have an ultrasound by one of three preferred radiologists. I kind of felt like I was being scammed. Today my ears are sore and lymph nodes swollen... I can hear, but remains to be seen what happens with these new symptoms. And I'll never go back there again. read more

Great doctor. Has a heart and cares about people. Receptionist is busy but very accommodating and kind. I highly recommend Dr Kieserman because in this day and age it's good to find a doctor who still sees patients as human beings rather than a revenue source. I really like him. Horribly rude receptionists, totally understand being busy and overwhelmed, we've all been there, but the rudeness definitely was uncalled for when asking simple questions. No excuse for that! Was misdiagnosed TWICE by the doctor. Doctor is friendly and quirky but will not listen to symptoms or take them seriously. Doesn't really look deep into what the issue could be, instead just prescribes antibiotics and steroids for everything without figuring out the issue. Only went back because he was the only one who would take me on the same day in an emergency. Never going back! Don't go here! read more

Absolutely lovely and smart doctor. He listened which is big, he had very informed comments. The medication he prescribed helped. He didn't rush at all. Took the lab tests for pathology that I was hoping he would. Fine exam. The wait was less than ten minutes, if even that. I couldn't recommend him more highly. Office staff called back as soon as they had results, efficient. This is from a very legit patient's comment. You'll see what I mean if you go to him. I went to Dr. Kieserman because I was dealing with a cold/fluid in my right ear which was plugged up. I have to say my initial impression of the office wasn't the greatest and it went downhill as the appointment progressed with true dissatisfaction the result of doctors actions or should I say lack of action. As I mentioned, the initial impression wasn't good. The bench that substituted as a coffee table in the center of waiting room was VERY dusty. Really not cool for a doctor's office with patients who suffer from allergies (or really any doctors office for that matter.) And it wasn't one or two days of dust. It was definitely in the crevices of the wood furniture for some time. Next before I was brought into see the doctor I was given a piece of paper that spelled out what constituted as a medical procedure above and beyond the office visit. If the doctor looked up my nose or down my throat with a special scope it would be deemed a surgical procedure by the health insurance company. Code for not covered by your insurance and this is going to cost you money so be prepared. When I got into the exam room with the doctor he didn't even look into my ear or up my nose before he said he'd have to do a earring test and some other test. Excuse me why are you jumping to the need to do an ear test before you have even done a general exam of the patient. It CLEARLY became evident that the doctor was looking to do things that added cost. Finally I was like 'aren't you even going to look into my ear?' which I think temporarily guilt'd him into it. He wouldn't give me any indication what was wrong with me other than I had an infection in my ear and that it could be something other than a common cold causing it but he couldn't tell without doing these additional test. He positioned it as I really needed these test to know what is going on. Good grief I had a cold with fluid in my ear and I needed an antibiotic not a bunch of test that garnered this man more money. The best way I can describe this guy is SHYSTER. His letterhead has, Steve Kieserman, MD, LLP. I don't know if I have ever seen a doctors office with LLP on their letterhead. Please do yourself a favor and find another doctor. read more

Dr Stefan Kieserman treated me for over a year for chronic throat infections (tonsillitis & strep throat). He performed somnoplasty on me in 2008, which is less invasive than a tonsillectomy and half the healing time. It's now 2010 and I never got another infection again. He is truly amazing, very kind with an excellent staff. I highly recommend going to him for all of your ear, nose and throat issues. read more

I treated with Dr. Kieserman at the recommendation of my PCP at Mt. Sinai as a result of bad sinus and ear infection in the winter. I felt the doctor's examination was thorough, pleasant bedside manner and welcoming of questions. I did not feel rushed and did not wait very long when I arrived for my appointment. Office staff was great and all insurance/payment info was handled quickly. Only downside, do not accept credit card for payment - only cash or check so be prepared. I went to him for a hearing exam when I had slight tinnitus, which went away on its own. There is no cure for tinnitus as I now know. He did a general exam on me...felt my neck and such. He said he thought he felt something on my neck/larynx, and wanted me to follow up with another physician. I always believe doctors but for some reason thought he was completely full of it. He said it under his breath too that he thought he "felt something". When I checked out with the receptionist, she made mention of a follow up visit with another doctor. I told her if a doctor said to her he thought he felt something on her neck for no real reason, would she believe him? She shook her head to me...definitely no. My feeling was, is he makes money sending people to doctors for additional visits. I don't know what goes on exactly and have no desire to know. Maybe they are his friends. I don't know. Maybe they will send patients back his way. It's now a few years later and I haven't been to an ENT since. My larynx was fine as I diagnosed myself! I just don't trust this doctor; think he's trying to scam when he can. Look at his photo above even. It's taken 30 years ago probably....40 maybe. I have been a patient of Dr Keisserman for over 10 yrs I have chronic wax buildup that need to be removed twice a yr Dr K makes it painless and always has a good bedside manner occasionally even telling a joke Recently I have fluid buildup in my R Ear Dr K had to anesthetize the eardrum, cut a small hole use a vacuum to suction out water. Don't waste your time. I went in to see Dr. Kieserman as I have developed tinnitus since moving to NYC...big surprise. But I was hoping to get some sort of helpful advice or maybe even something telling whether my concerns were justified. Instead, he came in to do his initial screening and proceeded to go through his checklist of questions. He asked me the same questions multiple times, and it was clear to me that he either did not care or was absorbed in something else. Not exactly what you want when you're seeing a doctor. Without telling me anything about tinnitus, he informed me a nurse would perform a couple tests and walked out. I then went through a series of tests in different office locations. The office seemed very unprofessional as papers were strewn everywhere and old devices were used to run tests. After finishing the tests, they told me to go see Dr. Kieserman in his office, but when I walked in, he just gave me a blank stare. Eventually he figured out he needed to discuss my results but basically just dismissed me, saying that my tests came back fine, tinnitus isn't really something that can be treated unless it's really severe, and I shouldn't worry since ringing in the ears is natural. Well, great. I thought this was fine until a few weeks later I got a bill that would have been over $600, had insurance not covered part of it. Never once did he inform me what tests would be performed or how much they would cost. I'm very upset that basically the only useful information I came away with was that I don't need to use Q-tips as often. He could have started off by telling me there wasn't much he could do for me or that tinnitus is "normal". But no, just another doctor who wants to reel in some free money by leaving the patient uninformed. Don't waste your time or money. I made a cold appointment using ZocDoc for ear pain and he was able to see me that day when the ENT that my primary referred me to had wanted me to wait at least one day. On the road to recover faster and very grateful. Staff was easy to deal with. One caveat: Bring cash for you co-pay.
