This was my first time visiting, and I thought it was a really cool coffee shop. Glen provided amazing customer service and was warm, inviting, and genuinely welcoming. He was also very helpful, taking the time to answer questions and make sure everything was just right. The ambiance was unique and created a great overall vibe. I don't believe they serve food, but I could be mistaken. Either way, I'll definitely be adding this spot to my coffee shop rotation. I plan to return and would highly recommend it. read more

Gremlin Growlers is a small coffee and beer house owned by a husband-wife team. The husband was there when we visited. He explained that his wife is passionate about coffee roasting and he is the "beer nerd". All the beers were on tap with an emphasis on local breweries. I advised that I like flavorful, but not hoppy beer, such as Shiner Boch, and at the owners recommendation, I enjoyed a malty, rich, dark beer that had a sweet finish. My next beer was a lighter beer that compared favorably to a pale ale. Overall, the beer selection, friendliness of the owner, and the quaintness of the establishment won me over. My wife and I stopped here on her birthday this Tuesday and the gentleman behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable about his coffees. He was even kind enough to give my wife a free cold brewed coffee that has nitrogen added to it and it is processed like beer. It was very good, but very strong. This is not your typical coffee café like Starbucks. It is refreshing to visit a café that knows their art and can explain to you about the process of making certain types of coffees. My wife ordered us both a latte and he does not offer pumps of this and pumps of that. The latte was extremely good, though it was very rich and incredibly strong. I love this spot. I've been a customer for years and have always found the service to be warm, prompt and thoughtful. Excellent vibes, varied seating (arm chairs, couches, picnic table and window barstools) for your choice of board games, a good read, or conversation. I have taken business meetings here, catch-ups with friends, and enjoyed study days to work on projects. If you don't want to pay the price of a co-working space, I would highly recommend Gremlin Growlers. I have been drooling over this place since they opened. Thet have street parking and a parking lot a block down.(Thats where i parked) Walking in it smelled like roasted coffee.. Yummm. They sell coffee as well. Alyssa (not sure of spelling) knows her stuff. For Beer you can get Growler, single Pours or Flights. I did a flight for $15 i chose 2 and I let Alyssa choose the other 2. Selections are numbered.. What i list here will be the number My choices were 22Hi wire 10w40 salted maple(which i took a 4 pack to go) 19 PA BA Atlas Stones 7Hi Wire Man Eater DIPA 2 SB Wailin IPA My least fave of the 4 was thr Wailin it was very light. My Fave was the 19 PA BA Atlas..datk There were tables chairs.. Some comfy chairs. People on laptops. Patrons may bring in your own food. I love a laid back spot. There was plenty of selections that you can purchase and carry. Wednesday they had $5 pint pours. I will be back. I enjoyed it.. But cut it short because i was about to melt. I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. I've waited to go in, because I saw a review a while back (which has disappeared) that some of the staff were not wearing masks. Well, now that I'm fully vaccinated I thought I'd stop in. There is barely any parking next to the shop, but I knew that going in. The public parking in the surrounding area is fine, but it's just a busy location (traffic wise) and not the most convenient to just pop in. It was very warm in the shop, and it wasn't even a particularly hot day. It smelled like old beer mixed with coffee, which I guess I should have expected, but its not the best smell ever. Unfortunately, absolutely no one (excluding myself) was wearing a mask, not the customers, not the employee behind the counter. I was planning on staying to enjoy my drink, but the temperature and the complete disregard for safety urged me get it to go. Order process was easy enough and it didn't take too long to receive my drink. Small and large were the only two sizes for iced drinks, the large was $4.50 for 16oz. Which, isn't terrible, but did seem a little high for the area. It was pretty good cold brew, quite smooth. I don't see myself going back, but I suppose I can understand the appeal of a multi-use space, if the things I counted as negatives are okay with you. read more

I'd give it a zero, but not able to. The owner is unprofessional and rude. We walked in as a group after dinner next door hoping to try their beers, having never been there before. As soon as someone asked a question about the types of beer on tap and what may be good to try, the owner responded in a condescending tone and attitude that made everyone of us uncomfortable and it went down hill from there. After purchasing beers and sitting down, one member of our party went to the restroom and overheard the owner making snide remarks about our group upon their return. Days later we mentioned our story to others who shared similar experiences. No one we talked to had anything good to say. read more

IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE A ZERO, I WOULD... I, along with ten other people, am in Fayetteville for a month in a hotel walking distance from this business. We noticed it on the nearby corner right away, and thought we'd hit it up for coffee in the morning and beer in the evening. I stopped by to check it out and was met with a cold rude attitude by - the owner! He was sarcastic, he ignored me at one point, and then he cranked the music so loud he couldn't hear me. This was clearly on purpose, as he looked right at me, saw me speaking and turned away. I was the only customer there. Shocking... He was also arrogant when we did speak. I mentioned stopping in for morning coffee and he said, "If it's before eleven don't bother." This place advertises itself as a coffee shop! So, I asked what their hours were - I had to ask twice - and he said, "They'll be on the door as you leave," as if he was trying to coax me out of there. They happen to open at the same time every day, so he could have answered the question in a second. This man is an angry condescending person who has no business operating a business that deals with the public. I am on the board of a home brew organization not too far away. We take a lot of trips to craft beer pubs and would have been a nice connection for him, but I decided to get out of there and never return... Gremlin Growlers lost a month's worth of business from nearby hotel guests in town for a job, as well as all future business from anyone in my beer crowd. I can't think of a time I was treated so poorly at a public establishment. read more

We Love Gremlins! My husband and I go to Gremlins at least once a week for beer or coffee. We often meet family and friends up there for Vinyl Night every other Thursday. We talk and enjoy the music and order take-out from one of the restaurants on the square. We enjoy Trivia Night and love the monthly Sunday Fundays with great food trucks, beer, and lots of fun for the family. This place is a great addition to the Fayetteville square. After looking for a chai latte in Georgia that was halfway decent, not too sweet, with adequate froth and excellent mouth feel, I may have found it at Gremlin Growlers. I had almost given up hope but when the barista pointed to the fact that they brew everything in house from scratch I thought I would give it a try. Now I have my goto spot! So happy! Mom had an Americana which was also very good. No artificial syrups, or any of that sweet fabricated stuff. Real coffee, real tea, the good stuff. They don't make coffee like this in most places. I enjoy the atmosphere here, and the beer is cold. They have a decent rotating tap selection. My most recent visit here was less than pleasant though. I was with my wife who had just purchased a 16oz and I was about to do the same, but it was a selection that I hadn't tried before. Like many of us do in many places we frequent, I asked for a splash in a glass for a taste, to which I was told we have a 5 Oz size and a 16 Oz size. I opted for the 5 Oz. After which I was told that I was the seventh person in a row to ask for something for free. I've seen you waste more down the drain pouring a pint than I asked for in a taste, sorry Gremlins, you lost a customer today. read more

Extremely disappointed. This shop is incredibly over priced and let's be real, the selection isn't anything special. You can find everything at a cheaper price at beer liquor stores in Atlanta and don't have to deal with insulting bartenders. Having just moved to the area, we were excited to see a local beer/coffee shop and decided to stop in to fill our 64 oz growler a week ago. We have an insulated 64 oz growler, that is a different shape than the standard glass growlers in the store. Because of its insulated walls, it looks bigger than what it actually is. Instead of measuring the growler to verify the size, the bartender filled it, assumed it was a gallon and tried to charge twice the price. We disputed and suggested to have him pour the beer out and measure to in fact see it is only 64 ounces. He did not want to do this, as there were customers in line behind us. After a few minutes of arguing with each other, he decided to give us the price of 64 ounces and said he would be losing money on our purchase. Guess what, this shop has in fact lost money on this purchase, as we will NEVER support this business again. Customer service 101: Don't insult your customer and never assume. read more
