    Fries and spicy mayo!
    Justine S.

Grenade is such a fun bar! Very trendy and hip. I visited with my boyfriend on a friday night at 9pm and it was pretty busy. According to the bartenders it really starts to fill up at around 10:30pm, when the DJ's arrive. Unfortunately, I wasn't hungry because I went after having my anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. He wasn't hungry either but we could see what everyone else was eating and it looked so good! The presentation was excellent. We did order some fries just to snack on. They came with some really good spicy mayo and some green onions on top. Really appreciated those. My boyfriend also ordered a beer (1664) and he said the beer selection was good. If you're ever in the area, plan a visit here! Will come back in the summer to try out their terrace :)

Walked by this little bar on my way from dinner and stopped in because I saw the cool little fireplace with a few chairs around it and saw the lights hanging in the back and a little disco ball. Great atmosphere for a backyard feel. There's little blankets which is sweet reminds me of Paris at the cafes outside. Drinks were great. Service was a little slow hard to find or waitress or even to track here down to pay but she was sweet and gave us free shots :)

We arrived at 5pm, and were able to be seated at a reserved table which wouldn't be occupied until 7pm. Don't be fooled by the grunge-y exterior! Once inside you'll see a charming bar surrounded by tables, some with cushions! If you decide to go outside, there's a lovely garden terrasse with lights and plants everywhere! We ordered 3 entrees, a main dish, and a side of edamame beans. All of the dishes arrived one by one about 15 minutes after ordering, which really impressed me considering how fast the restaurant was filling up! Every dish we ordered was delicious, the chicken pad thai had a lot of chicken and egg in it which I really enjoyed, and the sauce was tangy and helped bring all the other ingredients to life! The calamari, crab cakes, and tuna tataki were all very impressive dishes, just big enough to enjoy without filling you too quickly. The edamame beans were tossed in a soy based sauce and caramelized onions, which I had not seen done before. And guess what: LOVED it! Quick and friendly service, incredible atmosphere, and worth a second trip!

This place used to be something else a lot more sketchy looking lol, but now it's a nice little spot with garden ligjts amd mini fireplace on the tables. Perfect for a 5@7 to mingle with friends or colleagues. Nicely decorated terrace and has a homely feel to it. The food was pretty good. We took the 5 tasting tapas and were happy with our choices: satay, tuna tataki, Thaï calamari and shrimp balls, mushroom rolls and chicken dumplings. My friend took a Pisco cocktail and really enjoyed it I would definitely come back here again.

as many previous reviews say don't be fooled by the exterior you walk into a warm cosy wonderfully decorated location. The lighting is mood which is perfect the Decour is absolutely gorgeous the outside terrace is huge and multi levels front and back. The Asian fusion style food is absolutely delicious. Their cocktail list is something great to be explored and you'll get great service from the bartender Julian . great time and will be back!

Great spot for 5@7 in the village ! In a quieter area though but still fun energy and great vibe ! Their terrasse is one of the best parts of coming here. It's very open, spacious and comfortable with lots of Space for groups with enough music for ambiance without being too loud. Our service was a little slow but it was pretty busy that night so that being said they still checked in on us and we didn't have to wait overly long for anything. The food was not bad -Asian fusion , mainly smaller dishes. we tried croquettes, steamed buns and grilled beef skewers all tasty and were nice as an accompaniment to drinks but I don't think I would come here just for food. Their cocktails were solid we tried their sangria and a spicy signature cocktail. I liked this place and I would definitely come back !

Great food at a decent price, lots of fun cocktails, great ambiance. Service might be a little slow when it gets busy.

Two words: Bloody Kimchi. On our first evening in Montreal, we visited Grenade, which was recommended by our host. It was a rather slow night, even though a Canadiens game was on. I had a bloody kimchi, which was surprisingly delicious and spicy. I loved it! Later, we had the poutine with pulled pork, the dumplings and the edamame. The edamame was served unexpectedly different than we know it: served in a dressing with sesame seeds. Everything was very tasty! We wanted to go back on January 1st, but unfortunately, it was closed.

Very nice place, gonna come back for sure. Reasonable price of alcohol and plenty choice of food, also the taste is outstanding in bars. Strongly recommend the fries!

We all agreed on 4 stars.....dont go here for prompt service, go for the drinks, food and vibe. Very cool place to go and some original concepts we enjoyed: steamed buns were yummy and was intrigued by all the different cool drinks to try. The gummy drink was fun and colorful!

They were so kind and the drinks were poppin'! i ended up staying out with the locals and having a great night. I ended up in the Village at karaoke! all i can say is the prices were not issue. the staff were lively and fun! this was all out of the blue on a Monday night and i was treated like royalty! **It didn't hurt i was like to the only person there was alive in 2004* lol! thank you for an amazing kick off! pro tips: you have to pay as you go there are no tabs. they take a card and will convert the dollars tips are tips! park across the block it's a short walk take a ride service... the drinks are strong AF! ultra pro tip: bring an umbrella #iykyk

We got seated in the lounge area and I ordered a dirty martini to start. Our server, Christine was so nice and I enjoyed chatting with her. I also ordered a negroni which was very good. Would definitely return and think it's a solid spot to go out for cocktails that is a little more festive than a chill bar.

And it's unclaimed here on Yelp. We found it by searching for cocktail bars on Google. Place was busy both nights we were there though! This became our after dinner drink spot for the weekend. Bartenders were very friendly and helpful, and actually looked like they enjoyed their jobs as they helped contribute to the fun relaxed atmosphere. Drinks were creative and delicious. Music they play is the typical chill/lounge/downtempo/electronic where after a while it all sounds the same, but it's perfect for the ambiance and it's not too loud. Drink menu is only available through the web site, which is annoying (to me), but easy enough to overlook.

THIS WAS AMAZING…read more food here was flawless, every dish was absolutely perfect and creative. the ingredients are top shelf quality and put together with tons of care. I had the most amazing meal here. Genuinely the BEST beef tartare i've ever had in my life, it was chopped perfectly and flavor wise just absolute perfection. Rich, cheesy but still fresh and the beef flavor was present and well seasoned. Focaccia was great as well, the grill flavor really stuck with me and was a perfect touch of crunch and flavor. I enjoyed my leeks as well, i've never had them prepared this way so it was a unique touch. Their cocktails were good with some nice twists on classics, I got the oolong old fashion which was a pretty classic old fashion with a slight tea after taste. the highlight of the meal though was the desert . it was brûlée bananas with a chocolate cheesecake and omg that was the best touch to the meal ever. we got the wine pairing with it as well and they went together like bread and butter. the wine was sweet but had a fruitier taste to counteract the richness of the banana and chocolate. it was the most delightful experience and wasn't a bank breaker either. service here was attentive and amazing, extremely friendly and informative. the ambiance was on the fancier side, with darker lighting. during my time in montreal, this restaurant easily took home my favorite.

The service was friendly but they seemed short staffed that night. We were trying to refill our water glasses but it took a while since I couldn't find any waiter or waitress around. Now let's start with the food: Focaccia: 5/5 bread was warm, toasty and tasty but the dip was the highlight Leeks with smoked mackerel, mustard, tobikko: (2.5/5) too creamy with a hint of mackerel and leeks Calamari chou-fleur, asian pear, chili beurre blanc: (2/5) very soupy and too much cream and not flavorful Black cod miso sauce, daikon, kale: (2.5/5) cod was tender but my bite had too much miso on it. It was extremely salty and not well balanced Beef tartare with mushrooms, Asiago: (1/5) mushy texture and way too much Asiago cheese. Flank steak with burnt chili salsa, szechuan pepper sauce, pickled peppers: (2/5) steak was not tender at all and the sauce was overwhelming Fried sea bass with bok choy, soya, nuoc mam (3/5): presentation was great but too many bones with too little meat. Flavor was good and I enjoyed the warm crispy fish with the Vietnamese style salad Overall, my special dinner was disappointing. I felt like the main ingredient never shined and their cheese or cream or sauce were just too overpowering. I really wanted to like Cadet but it fell short of my expectations.
