The shallow end of the pool has a curtain of water that falls from the ceiling and various fountains/massage jets. For two guys on a multiweek construction project out of town, the aquatic center at Hampton Inn Wheeling was the best surprise either of us can remember lately. HIW had more to offer though. There was a shuttle service that took us to supper, brought us back when we called (and they showed up in about 7 minutes) later, we took the shuttle to the casino We both somehow beat the house for some decent loot. And we taken back to the hotel by the shuttle at two am Both drivers were exceptionally gracious and polite. This unassuming looking hotel hides spectacular accommodations and flawless hospitality. Beds were comfortable. TV was smaller than I have expected recently and I don't recall them having the option of connecting Netflix or any other streaming services which is nice, relying on what is on cable at that particular moment is a drag and I don't know how we did it for so long. Towels were plentiful. Shower was nice. Multiple mirrors arranged in just a way that your partner can watch you on the toilet from the bed if you leave the door open, as we discovered. Prime Location and Great Staff !…read more This Best Western Hotel is located right off highways and close to shops, restaurants, and Schools. This is an older property, but well-maintained and clean. You can find many amenities at this hotel, such as conference rooms, guest laundry, buffet-style breakfast, a pool and a fitness room. The rooms are large and clean; however, my room lacked modern tools to connect my devices, but it had several electrical outlets for plugging in chargers. The refrigerator worked very well, the wifi was easy to connect to and had a good signal. The bathroom was clean and had an actual fan for smells and steam. Overall, I had a good stay, and since it rained all day, I just walked across the parking lot to eat. The only issues I had were with the Peloton in the fitness room, which had somehow disconnected from the wifi, rendering the bike pretty much useless. The front desk staff member worked tirelessly calling, texting and WhatsApping every manager she could to find out how to reconnect the bike. It took some time, but they figured out how to reconnect the bike to Wi-Fi, and at the least, I was able to use it as a workout finisher. Anyway, there was only me and I locked myself out, and the Hampton Inn staff was really nice about letting me back in (with an unfolded hanger-type device one of their people had to carefully slip through the crack between the door and the wall, in order to un-flip the switch I'd flipped; god, this was so stupid, and I felt ridiculous the whole time this was being worked on). They were friendly about it and acted as though I wasn't a huge fool for locking myself out in such a weird manner. The breakfast buffet is pretty comprehensive for a relatively small hotel. They offer a solid selection of cold cereals, plus waffles, eggs, bagels, etc. There's also a pool and a fitness room. I never see these getting much use, so they're in great condition and there's a decent chance you'll have the rooms to yourself if you decide to use them. When I drive out to visit family in Ohio, there's never a question about where I'll stop half-way; Hampton Inn, Washington PA, is always the way to go.
