I recently took the FlixBus from Savannah to Daytona While there were several high points, the bus ultimately didn't meet my needs as a mobile workspace. The Positives: Punctuality: The bus was perfectly on time, which I greatly appreciated. Professionalism: The driver was both courteous and professional throughout the journey. Cleanliness: The bus was notably clean and well-maintained. The Negatives: No Wi-Fi: This was my biggest issue. There was absolutely no Wi-Fi available, which meant I couldn't access any of my online info. I was limited only to what was already downloaded on my hard drive. Limited Space: The seating is very tight. There isn't enough room to comfortably use a laptop in a standard position. I was only able to get work done because I was lucky enough to have an empty row, allowing me to sit sideways. Part two: Summary: If you just need a clean, on-time ride from A to B, this is a great option. However, if you are choosing the bus specifically to get work or studying done, be aware of the lack of connectivity and cramped space. In the future, I'll likely opt for the train to ensure I have the amenities needed for a productive trip. read more

I've rode the Greyhound for probably 30 years and although they are never anything to write home about they are a cheap way to travel and saves wear and tear on your car. The one in Savannah Georgia absolutely sucks and is not well monitored. A homeless man was hanging around in the lobby and some passenger said that someone stole his wallet and blamed the homeless man and another passenger pulled a knife on the homeless man and they got into an altercation. The ticket attendant just yelled at them and the Security Guard who was sitting outside came in with the wallet that she had found probably outside and made the homeless man leave but allowed the passenger with a weapon to stay. The Security is supposed to stay in the Security booth and have always been there where the passengers are and not outside where no one is. I called the Savannah Bus Station on 8/14/2023 at 7:10. A lady answered the phone and never said anything. She just took the phone off the hook so that the phone would stop ringing. I can hear everything in the background. She helped two customers then she told Frank she was ready to go. I stayed on the phone for 35mins she never answered. read more

Since the UK company bought Greyhound, they have bled it dry. Equipment is in short supply, and is not being maintained. Going to Atlanta was three hours late, and broke down in Metter; even McDonald's was closed... No AC on the way up, and arrived Atlanta at 2AM (station is not in a desirable location). The bus was not clean , and the little roach freaked me out... Return today was about 30 late leaving, and an hour late arriving. NO AC again; miserably hot. Horrible. Expensive. False Advertising. Filthy conditions. Over crowded. Double charged. Rude employees. The transportation to and from visiting a friend from Atlanta to Savannah ruined my vacation! I usually choose Megabus, never had an issue with them, but there isn't a terminal for Megabus in Savannah so I booked a Greyhound ticket online. The website boasted wifi, leg room, and electrical outlets to charge devices. None of these were available on either trip. The plug outlets in the stations didn't work either so I was without communication with my pick up. Additionally, there were a few plus size ladies who told me that they paid extra for reserved seating and it was not given to them. Online I was quoted a fair, low rate. I went to pay for a round trip ticket and was immediately charged an extra $25 for using my husbands credit card instead of my own. The total for a round trip was about $100. The driver was very rude. He actually told one woman, in the middle of nowhere, that if "her kid didn't stop crying they would have to exit the bus." This child was under a year old. It was over 90 degrees, humid, and in South Georgia without an exit in sight. Thankfully the baby calmed down. He also yelled in my face like a drill sergeant telling me to "HURRY UP" as I carried my heavy suitcase. Not one employee offered assistance. I arrived in Savannah, got my bag, spent a few days with my friend at the beach, and upon returning, arriving an hour early, realized I couldn't find my ticket. I wasn't worried because I had the e-ticket saved on my phone, a password, a valid I.D., and my confirmation number. I explained to the ticket agent this situation and was forced to purchase another ticket. She claimed that the password and e-ticket were void because I had misplaced the paper ticket. In short, my price doubled as I was charged about $80 for a one way trip home, a trip that I had already pre-paid. I got home (FINALLY!) and called customer service. I spoke with a gentleman who is clearly outsourced and could not understand him. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was on hold for nearly half an hour. The gentleman came back on the line and said that his supervisor would call me back. AVOID THIS COMPANY / I am sure that shuttle buses are going to do to them what Uber did to the taxi industry, what Netflix did to Blockbuster, and they are going to be rude and get every dime possible. The employees are rude with every trip that I've made on Greyhound. I've been using greyhound for almost 3 years now to go to Savannah or Tallahassee. The stations are extremely filthy and the Atlanta location is horrendous. The staff is extremely rude there and always respond back in a angry tone whatever the question may be. The phone operators are never accommodating. The tickets are definitely overpriced and you are not getting the service you are paying for. I've had multiple occasions where my bus would be delayed or outright cancelled. There needs to be more bus operators in Georgia since greyhound is the sole operator which means there is zero competition hence higher prices. Greyhound needs to improve if they want quality service. read more

This place is a I bet a fairly new bit deeming the transit which is set with the county & the major players (Greyhound & Southeastern Stages) is set there no issues. If there's a bit of a gripe I sort of wish is there's only microwavable food/vending plus no coffee machines so loss of stars (that trip/station observance was in Feb. during a trip I did & I had to do a bus transfer) But least the ease of the station & folks announcing the stations/bus runs to locations was good & available & staff was friendly at the least made up for these bits but guys do take this bit as some you know constructive criticism. read more

All the buses on my latest trip were nice, new, clean, and with (slow) wifi when I first boarded. 1 star for that. Boston to NY is reasonably safe, but outside the northeast all bets are OFF. I've logged 5000+ miles on Greyhound in my lifetime so I know that my latest experiences aren't that exceptional. The fact is, the clientel this low cost carrier attracts will probably lead to a lot of... colorful experiences. Don't even think about ridin' the hound long-distance if you aren't a SURVIVOR. You will definitely meet homeless people, ex-cons, drug users, the mentally ill, welfare recipients, screaming kids (with the welfare recipients), illegal aliens, black people with racial hostility, fat/stinky people, passive aggressive greyhound employees, and those who cannot control their bowels. But I also met some cool people along the way. PROTIP: If you are a clean-cut person lacking the funds for a more expedient mode of travel, consider hitch-hiking. Even in this day and age, people WILL pick you up if you don't look stinky/homeless/deranged. Seriously. You can turn down rides from anybody who gives you a bad vibe and you'll probably get there sooner than taking Greyhound long-distance. Oh, and it's free. HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY RECENT 1800 MILE GREYHOUND JOURNEY: --I was nearly smothered by the morbidly obese man spilling into half of my seat from Boston to NYC. He snored for the entire 4 hours, but at least he didn't stink. --A crazy man with three visible teeth threatened to stab me in the NYC terminal just for being a "white nigger" who didn't drop any money in his cup when I passed by. I'm pretty sure he was homeless and not a traveler, though, as he had no visible baggage. --The soured-milk smell of the person who was my New York-to-Virginia seatmate made me want to vomit, but at least she was quiet (unlike the drug and alcohol party happening in the back of the bus from 12-4AM.) --Had to sit on the side of the road in North Carolina for 2 hours without AC after the driver used up his legally allotted driving time sitting in New York City traffic. --Nearly had my laptop stolen; caught a mexican man poking through my bag when I returned from a quick pee. --A screaming baby for 600 miles. --4 just-released convicts were put on the bus by penitentiary officers. They looked tough, but ended up being relatively normal compared to other people on the bus. --The poor old gentleman who had a shitsplosion in his pants somewhere around Savannah GA. There was brown liquid leaking from his pant leg as he walked to the back of the bus for a 45-minute sit in the rear coach bathroom. The powerful sewage smell lingered for the next 300 miles. --The Florida to Orlando driver literally LEFT 8 people behind when they didn't return to the bus in the allotted 10 minutes. One guy was running after us as we pulled away, but the driver wouldn't stop because we were already behind schedule. Its unclear to me how they would ever retrieve their unlabeled carry-on bags that kept travelling without them. --I rolled into my final destination exactly 18 hours late, and I didn't even have any problems with overbooking. LESSONS FOR THOSE WHO, DUE TO FINANCES, HAVE NO OTHER TRAVEL OPTIONS: --Always label everything. --Bring as much FOOD as you can carry because you won't have much time or choice along the way. 15 minutes might be long enough to get through the line at KFC, but if it's not the driver might leave your ass behind. --Bring lots of small bills for vending machines. -- Bring a pillow or sleeping bag/puffy jacket. Your back will thank you. --Always keep your valuables with you, no matter how short you will be away. ESPECIALLY your ticket. Greyhound will not reissue your lost tickets under any circumstances. --Try to find somebody you like and choose to sit together rather than hoping for a row to yourself. If you take your chances to try to get a row to yourself there's a very good chance you'll end up sitting with somebody smelly, fat, scary, or offensive. Or all of these. read more

The price to get out of town is pretty comparable to Amtrak except for Amtrak is where? Oh, the fields 20 minutes that way..by car. Bathrooms, a charging station for phones, tv, and people sleeping on top of all their personal belongings. Thankfully this is pretty much downtown and easy to walk to at just about any hour. a family member left a suitcase in the lobby there recently by accident. I have been trying for several days to call this bus station and find out if the suitcase is there. I was placed on hold for 20 minutes the one time that I did get ahold of a human to talk to, otherwise have left several messages on voicemail and these have not been returned. Hello my name is Dijon Conerly I am taking a bus from Savanna Ga- Atlanta GA on November 21, 2018. On November 15 I called to purchase a ticket that at the time was 45-65 bucks (I also took screen shot of ticket price) I was told by the operator that I would not be able to use my military discount over the phone And only reason I called is because I was in Houston at the time. He stated that I would have to be in person to do so. I got off my plane and came straight to the Savanna Ga terminal to see that even with my discount I would have to pay 129.82. This is extremely unacceptable and just another way to get money from people you should be able to use your discount over the phone with ur DOD number or the price should be the same when u get to the terminal. Lastly the Savanna Ga terminal is disgusting and very unprofessional there was no one in line and I waited 15 mins because there was no one at the desk after I sat and contemplated buying the 129.82 over priced ticket I had to wait another 20 mins for some one to come to the desk and tell me I better hope they still have seats as she talked on her personal phone. This is not the worst station, but definitely far from the best. It's positioned in a dicey part of town. I'd recommend getting an Uber from here instead of walking. And don't take trips in or out extremely early or late. The crime from the neighborhood behind ends up here a lot. read more

Used this station once. They forgot to put my bag on the bus. Would never use this station again. Couldn't even give a reason for what happened when I called them. Spent about 6 hours and 30 calls trying to reach them. Overall terrible service. It's a shame because Savannah is a nice town, but I would NEVER EVER consider traveling to and from it again using Greyhound. And for anyone who does, DO NOT BRING VERY MANY ITEMS WITH YOU. READ ‼‼‼‼‼I highly recommend anyone considering traveling with Greyhound NOT TO DO SO ‼‼‼‼‼‼ I experienced the worst customer service EVER at the Greyhound station in Savannah Georgia on December 23, 2018. The workers including the "security guards " were extremely rude ,disrespectful and lacked any empathy regarding my trip. After allowing my bus to pull off right in front of me (earlier than stated on my ticket)and refusing to let me board my bus that was scheduled to depart at 5:10pm ( time stated on my e-ticket). I went inside to speak with someone in charge regarding my concerns. Once inside they then began to ridicule me with insults and threats of physical harm. One of the workers in particular was EXTREMELY irate and made multiple attempts to lung at me. Instead of trying to defuse the situation the security guards there were actively participating in the utter embarrassment in which I was subjected to.At that point I feared for my life and dialed 9-1-1. Once the police arrived they notified me that the employee wanted me banned from the location and had did so. I have NEVERRRRRR EXPERIENCED THE LEVEL OF DISRESPECT & EMBARRASSMENT I WAS SUBJECTED DUE TO GREYHOUNDS LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. I ended up missing Christmas with my family and having to spend my holidays alone in Savannah. This company clearly doesn't care about the safety of its customers! And after talking with other customers this seems to be a recurring event. read more

Everything with greyhound is poor. Poor maintenance, poor customer service. Employees show no compassion. I expect more from a successful franchise. I spent $320 on two tickets for me & my cousin. & the rude ass, heartless associate & bus driver would not let my cousin board because he was late but according to my ticket it says departure time was 6:05. The employees at the Greyhound/CAT station in Savannah, including the Security Guard, have been extremely kind and helpful to people in difficult situations due to the evacuation and reentry from Hurricane Matthew! I cannot say enough good things! Also, the center is very clean. read more
