I took a certification course here. The instructor (Bill C) was very helpful and engaging. I highly recommend him. However the office/admin operation was a huge mess. They informed me that after taking this course here, I'd be able to come shoot at this range in the mean time (while we wait for our permit). So I did come back two days later to rent a gun practice by myself with no issue. Now two weeks have passed and I'm back again. This time, they're saying that I can't shoot here because "the certification course is not a qualifying course." They then suggest that I take another "qualifying course" for another $100+ in order to shoot here again. I reasoned that this is not consistent with what I've been told and with my most recent visit. After some deliberation, the lady decided to inform me that they weren't supposed to let me in the last time. She then tried to sell me another course. To me, this felt like a dirty upsell tactic. I simply didn't take the bait. Didn't want to be a sucker. I won't be coming back again and will be steering friends and family away because of Two major issues: #1 - Mixed messages and contradictory communications led to a hugely negative customer experience. I drove 45 minutes to get here. It's a huge waste of time. #2 - They have a serious safety protocol problem if they mistakenly allowed someone (me) to enter the range and shoot without proper permission. read more

I tried to sell a collection of firearms. Was told initially that they would offer fair prices. Got a call from Eddie. Eddie picked a particular weapon (from a list that I sent them) and asked me what I considered a fair price for the firearm. After getting my opinion on it's worth, Eddie told me "I was nowhere near" what they were considering. OK I saID WHAT DO YOU (EDDIE) THINK WAS A FAIR PRICE? He refused to answer me. When I asked for an estimate he refused to answer me. The conversation ended with Eddie telling me to call them back after I got other estimates. That's not going to happen. To me negotiating starts with him giving me his opinion of what Greyson's was willing to pay. We go from there. The impression he left me with was "it's our way or no way." I don't do business or have respect for anyone that is as obstinate and rude as Eddie was. I'm sure Greyson's is a fine place to buy from. But if your a seller beware! read more

Cousin raved how good this place was. Made the 40 minute drive, walked in around 3p and I'm being told they were closed. Mind you, website states open till 7p. Then the kid behind the counter says "we close when the state closes" in reference to DPS I'm guessing. I wasn't there to purchase a gun, there to shoot. I was there with 4 other people. So being turned away, I took the group to the range in Bridgeport. They were a lot more welcoming and accepted my money. read more

When I started the process to obtain my permit, I called and went to several gun stores. Greyson was the only one that made me feel welcome and walked me through step by step on the process. The permit class was enjoyable, they helped me fill out the paper work their. Decided to take some training classes on the range. I've been working with Jay, since he taught the permit class. Great team their knowledge on products is second to none.. The only issue I would have bought a 12 Ga. shot gun came with everything I asked for total just over a grand. I also ordered shells the sales person went and brought them don and was told the had sold them to someone already. I was promised a month ago they would make good and get my shells and call me. Have not heard a word. I know first hand shells where sold since then because the person that suggested I go there bought several boxes. It was very sad to hear that Greyson's has decided to place a club membership fee on freelance instructors. I always thought that the facilities were great and the team there was very open-minded and helped Gun enthusiast the most. Additionally, besides making money on the Freelance instructor and the students, the marketing was free. Many of my students would go back and buy their 1st firearm from there! This will no longer be the case, and I understand that other ranges are following this method as well. Bridgeport won't even allow new freelance instructors period. How is this good for the 2nd amendment, the NRA or business? New management? Maybe it's just part of being greedy and trying to shut others down? Just another reason to leave CT. read more

First of all, wish I could review the range and store separately. Range is convenient and well kept. But RSO not present often and wait times can get VERY long. Now to the store. Very arrogant staff, they do not wear clothing that identifies them as employees and don't seem open to speaking with you. Not a good store for the casual gun owner, great if you're their friend or very knowledgeable. An example, I asked an employee about the Glock Blue Label program. I inquired if there was a difference between a stock Glock and the Blue Label. He said "Well the label is blue" and then laughed with another customer at me. I come to find out there is a difference in price and magazine size while he's talking to a regular customer. Not going to patronize this store anymore. Only worth training with Alan and range time, other shops are much more professional. read more

After perusing the glass cases and most likely looking lost I came upon Gary one of the owners who gave me pretty much a tour of what was available as well as his recommendations for a first time buyer and what I was looking for. Pros: Overall good selection of pistols. If you are a Glock guy, you'll love this place. Cons: If you aren't a Glock guy, you'll have to ask around to see if they have what you need. Awful experience here today and they have been on the decline the last six months! I've purchased over 5 to 7 guns from this place in the last two years (H&K, Sig Sauer, Kimber, and Colt)! Today I went in to shoot a little with my step father (who has never been and is a member of Bpt. Range) and to use my Free Hour of Range Time from my last big purchase there. We were told about an hour wait, unless a member. Then was pitched membership blah blah blah. Looked around, sat around, waited. Noticed after a half hour or so lanes were open but people weren't being called. Asked the rude older gentlemen at the range desk wait order etc. "I don't have any lanes so I don't know what to tell you". I then explained there were open lanes. Another gent said "don't worry I will get you all in, sorry we're short staffed and it's embarrassing". I then heard him tell the rude gentleman at the range check in to take care of his neighbor (who then got right in). A few minutes later a gent who was a NRA Instructor came in, said hi to staff, buddy up and then got right in even though he never said he was a member. Now an hour and 20 minutes later of waiting I am ready to go and they say "don't worry your next". People are leaving, trying to check out, lanes again open, my next name not called. A few other gents who were sleeping they were waiting so long, get up and check the non moving list. Then a young gent walks in, tells another sales man who was helping with the range that he just purchased a gun from there and wanted to try it out. The sales person then said "just go up to the range guy, tell him your a member, and I sent you and you will be next"! I've shot at Bpt. Range, Hiller Sports, Hoffman's, Chris's Indoor, and several places out of state and have never seen such bullshit, un organization, and favoritism in my life. No I'm not a member. Sure I'll wait in line. But don't make all your friends, family, members, and customers who just purchased weapons cut me all day long. I've spent thousands of dollars here, was bringing a rival range member to show them the nice facility. But neither of us want to join or spend another dollar here after horrible customer service, shitty attitudes, and poor organization to a range on a Sunday. I expect it from Hoffman's. But not the young guys who learned the wrong way to treat people after working for K5! read more

I like this range and find it better than most ranges in CT. First, it is air conditioned which is a must in the summer (I never knew that not all ranges have a/c until I move to CT). Also, the staff is friendly, they offer classes and also one-on-one training. You pay on the way out after running a "tab" - this is helpful because if you need to buy extra ammo or try out a different gun, then you do not have to keep paying multiple times. Just the once. It also has a store with a very good selection of guns and ammo. I also liked that I was not treated differently because I was a woman alone at a gun range. Neither did anyone act like I did not know what I was doing. Again, this is not something I see at all ranges. I would note that the range is not large so I could see it becoming busy quite easily. Parking is good because it is located in a strip mall with a parking lot. read more

Very, very, nice facility and staff. I hadn't been there in a couple of years but called this AM to enquire about availability of .44 Special ammo. The person that answered the phone was very polite, asked me to hold for a moment, and then came back on with the various brands and loadings of .44 special they had in stock. I headed over and bought a box then went into the indoor range, it was fairly busy but they had at least one member of the staff in there keeping an eye on things and answering peoples questions. I went to pay after I was done and the man at the register only charged me for 1/2 hour. He also was very friendly and we chatted a bit about the industry in general. even though I belong to a private club I will be returning to shoot as it is much closer to my home. read more

Not my type of place, but went there to buy pepper spray, which seems to be very unavailable at local stores. Weird. One of the guys had to be asked to assist, which is also odd since it was empty except for one person being helped by someone else. Turns out they had only one pepper spray in a holder for almost $13. Nothing basic. Got it, took it home and realized there was a price sticker under that one that was under $10. What do they do? Buy it online and then mark it up 30%? Just went online and realized I should have gone to nearby Dick's. Seems like they have lots of them, and at under $10 read more

Greyson Guns is awesome. I'm a new shooter, and Greyson is the only range/gun store I've been to where I have not caught an ounce of patronization from the staff. They were super eager to answer any and all questions. You can tell these guys are passionate. Their range is top notch. I also picked up some 22 ammo for a better price than anywhere else I had looked. They're far from my home but I stopped by since I was in the area- I wish they were closer to my home because I'd spend my money at Greyson over any of the other local ranges in southern CT. read more

I have only good things to say about this store. The partners are friendly, focused, willing to work hard to offer a pleasant experience. Recently expanded, they have opened a new range which already brings a good crowd for they by-monthly steel plate matches. The range is well ventilated, and classes are offered for beginners and more expert shooters. The store is not as well stocked as I'd like it to be, but they are a new operation and are expanding. What matters is that they stay away from the many unpleasantness which are a common experience in several CT stores. If you are looking for rude and pretentious attitude don't go to Greyson's you have other establishments to support. Glock gunsmith is on the premises, and they offer cleaning services. Great new business, I supported it happily until my last day in CT. read more

My fiancé and I came to test shoot some handguns as we just got our license and didn't know what we liked. Since I want to carry, I tested a bunch of smaller guns and Kaz was very knowledgeable and allowed me to handle every gun I asked for, so I could make an informed decision. I was ready to buy a gun, but didn't know I needed my greencard so I had to come back the next day. I asked for Kaz again and I noticed another two guns that I didn't handle/compare the day before and Kaz once again was very patient, friendly and knowledgeable. To make my decision easier he actually allowed me to test the gun I was leaning towards the most at the range, since they had a loaner for it. He didn't charge me for the range, just the ammo, which was very nice of him! That really helped me make the decision and I left shortly after, satisfied and with my first gun. It's nice knowing that there is a shop close by that treats you well and I will certainly stop by more often! read more

Stopped in to their new location on a whim. Nice clean shop. Not much inventory and the prices are on the high side. However, the shooting range here is top notch. Probably the nicest in lower Connecticut. One caveat however, their range prices are by the hour. If you use less than an hour, the time is not prorated. You pay for the full hour. read more

My favorite arms dealer in the state. Mike, Dan, Carlos and the rest of the guys have always done a great job taking care of me. It's always nice when i walk in the store and they know me by name. I can't say enough good things about the people who work there. They have a very good selection and amount of inventory, no, not as good as some other places, but they'll always order something and always give me a fair price. These are my go to guys. I use Greyson for their range a few times every month but after being there on Sunday, I will never use their range again. We were next to a group that were racking their slides with loaded weapons 5 feet behind the red line, with the muzzle pointed every which way. There were two instructors in the lane next to them but neither of them said anything. I packed up my stuff and left right then and there. They really need to step their safety protocols up and have people actually tend the range. read more

I went with a friend to shoot at Greyson's when the range was pretty much empty. At checkout, we were charged $25 for the hour we spent there plus an additional $10 "guest fee". When I explained that the guest fee was not listed on their website and other CT ranges such as Bridgeport, Delta Arsenal, and Hoffman's don't charge a guest fee, the man I spoke with rudely replied "Bridgeport range is sh*t" and "Of course there's a guest fee." Overcharging customers, deceitful pricing, and trash talking other shops is bad business. Consequentially, my friend and I will not be returning to Greyson's. read more

I just waited 2 hours for a shooting lane. I understand it is the weekend and I'm not a paying member. After standing around for 2 hours and looking thru the very sparse showroom, with nothing to do while we waited. They finally called us for our lane. We ordered some targets and then we ordered ammo. They did not have mine at the range counter. I was told that I had to go to the front to buy them if they had them. I waited 10 minutes for someone to wait on me in the front only to learn that they do not have .32 cal rounds in the store. After a brutal 2 hr wait and no ammo I decided that is enough and I left. The customer service was poor and whatever their system is at the range is lame. Good luck you guys, you won't ever see my money! read more
