This review is about 8 months overdue! Apologies to Griffin Buick! I was interested in purchasing a used truck from a nearby sales lot. I was extremely interested in this vehicle (a Chevy) and asked the dealer where I can take the truck to for a quick check-out. They suggested Griffin Buick. So I made an appointment later that day and dropped the truck off at Griffin Buick, while I waited in the waiting room. I worked with Richard O. at the service desk. Richard wrote up an estimate for me and I was in agreement, so they began their inspection. After about 30 minutes, Richard comes into the waiting room and asks me to follow him. He is shaking his head and tells me, "you have to see this." I follow him into the mechanics' garage where the truck is hoisted up on a rack. Him and his service crew proceed to show me that there is nothing 'sound' in this vehicle: the rack-and-pinion steering is completely shot, the shocks are worn and leaking, the springs are weak. In short, the steering and suspension systems need overhauling. He strongly advises me "do NOT buy this vehicle!!!". I take his stern warning and run with it... He feels so badly for me, in fact, that he waives the service inspection fee :O I was shocked at his kindness and took too his advice. I am EXTREMELY grateful to Griffin Buick and Richard O in particular of saving me from a $10,000 mistake!!!! I get home, and explain to my spouse the story of what just transpired. Then she tells me, "Oh, they're great! That is where I take my car all the time for service and oil changes!". Wow, I did not know that! I will tell you this: if I buy another car in the future, I would absolutely give Griffin Buick my first preference. If this is how they treat non-Buick owners, I can only imagine how they treat "one of their own." Top notch service advisors and mechanics bar none! read more

I purchased a $65,000 2018 Denali from  Griffin Buick GMC in Monroe, NC in Aug 2021. I was promised at time of purchase that I would be contacted when the missing parts that were ordered came in for it, the few minor scratches would be taken care of, the non operating seat warmers fixed, the loose panel by drivers seat, and the automatic seat collapse fixed would also be taken care of. The salesman said it should only take 2 hours but if it took longer they could give us a rental since the dealership was over an hour away. I asked to have this promise in writing, that I was hesitant to take the vehicle without a written promise that the issues would be taken care of. I was told "not to worry" and to sign the paperwork under the verbal promise the vehicle would be fixed, my Husband is a witness to this conversation.    After a few days I noticed one of the headlights was also not operating. So, I contacted the salesman who sold it to us. I was told that he just needed to get with the service department & would call me back. No call. I messaged him again, also inquiring about when parts would be in,, same answer. I gave him my husband's number to set up the appointment. After another week my husband reached out, he was given the same answer. 2 months later, 8 messages & numerous calls we were told we could "bring it up if we want" but they would have to keep it overnight & not be able to give us a rental after a rental was promised.   After leaving a negative Google review my husband was suddenly contacted in Sept telling him a Griffin rep was bringing us a rental & takes our vehicle to the dealership to get fixed. I walked him through the issues which included: seat warmers are non operational,  center charging station is non operational, lighter cover broken by driver, 2 row seats had exposed screws missing cover, 1 of the 2 electric fold down seats are non operational, one headlight randomly turns off & other stays on, interior cover hanging lose by windshield (a distraction while driving), scratch on passenger back door, screw exposed missing cover in trunk, interior scratches & damage touched up (we asked for a couple not all) 4 days later a rep returns our vehicle without anyone contacting us about what was fixed & the ONLY 2 thing that was fixed was the lighter cover & fold down seat. I told the rep he needs to take the vehicle back & he agreed, said hold on while he calls his supervisor (he was a nice very young gentleman who works in the parts department). My husband, who was at work, calls me while I'm waiting, says he spoke with the sales manager who interrupted the conversation he was having with the salesman (who was trying to work with us), completely cut him off & said "IF THAT COMPANY VEHICLE ISN'T IN ROUTE IN 5 MINUTES I'M CALLING THE COPS & REPORTING IT STOLEN!!  5 MINUTES!!!!" So I had no choice but to keep my damaged vehicle that I paid full price for under false pretenses & send the associateon his way or I would have the police called on me. On top of ALL THAT....they returned my vehicle with 2 miles left of gas completely empty. Since then my husband has contacted the salesman & dealership still attempting to get the vehicle fixed. We are told it would have to be there overnight & they would not give us a rental knowing the dealership is over an hour away & we have 3 children youngest being 3 yrs old. read more

Yesterday we purchased a pre-owned Chevy Silverado from Griffin Motors and we are less than satisfied. When Richard test drove it, all was fine and he did not notice any unusual smells (unlike in other used trucks he had test driven recently). But, when all the paperwork was done and he went out to drive it home, the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming!!!! It appears they somehow masked the smell during the test drive. Had it been like that when he test drove, that would have been a deal breaker! Now we are stuck trying to figure out how to get that awful smell out of a truck. Richard contacted the salesman and his response was, "we do not allow our employees to smoke in our vehicles." Next time he reached out to the salesman, no response. I'm going to include the detailed letter I wrote to Peter Fridrich more than a month ago. Of yet, I have heard NOTHING from him. Not an apology. Not a kiss my arse. On 23 Aug. 2023, I brought my Buick Lacrosse in for an ABS issue, as the sensor light on the panel was coming on. This was the 2nd time I have experienced this issue. In April 2022, according to technician, Joe Russo a right front wheel speed sensor wiring N-harness was needed. $301.53 In October 2022, Joe Russo found the power steering gear and pump faulty. $1336.22 After that repair, I discovered power steering fluid on my garage floor. As this is a brand new house, it was not the result of years of parking my car inside. I took a picture of the fluid on my floor. It's still on my phone. As NO one called me for an opinion of my most recent service, Therefore, I will be adding a Google review and post it in multiple places. Now, to the last problem. On Monday, Aug. 21, I called for an appointment for the ABS light was back on. In addition, I could hear a "sloshing" noise when starting off, occasionally when accelerating, and when stopping. I was given an appointment for Wednesday morning at 8. Joe Russo diagnosed excessive play in left front hub. He replaced the left front hub, added more coolant (for it was low, I wonder if such is connected to the stain on my garage floor), an N-filter, and N-hub. As to the sloshing, Nicholas Silvernail, installed 2 seals, 3 gaskets, and sealant. $2,014.67. The sloshing sound remains. If anyone had driven the car for just a few minutes he/she would hear it. There is, however, an unusual message on my receipt. It says, "Interior Trim/Seat/Upholstery Concern." What the heck? The car is 16 years old, but only has 75678 original miles, and as I keep spending money at the dealership where I purchased it, I cannot afford a downpayment on another. Now, to other issues. I brought the car in on Wednesday. Scott Jones took care of the analysis and then came to tell me Albert Thomas would drive me home. I specifically asked Scott how long it would be for the repair. He stated by "late tomorrow afternoon." I asked him 2 more times about when the car would be ready. Each time he said the same thing, but the last time he said, "unless we have trouble getting a part in." So what was I to believe? If I had known it would take 3 days, I would have brought it in the following week. As Mrs. Thomas (in your check out department) and I discussed, without a car, we older folks lose our "freedom." It is very humbling & a bit scary. Yet, I get it. My car is old, and sometimes parts are hard to find. What I do not get is no communication from Scott on Wednesday or Thursday. When I called Thursday afternoon, he said it would be late on Friday. I do medical treatments on Friday mornings. There is no one local to chauffeur me around for such medical treatments. Because I was told 3 times it would be Thursday afternoon, I thought I was clear. By the time I learned otherwise, I couldn't cancel the medical appointment and not pay for it. When I finally talked to Scott again on Friday, he said I could have the car, but the service department had ordered another part which would be an additional $783.00. He said they wouldn't charge me for the additional labor, just the part. I told him I had missed one treatment on Friday, and I couldn't afford to miss another. He said I could bring the car back when I could and he would hold the part. I called him on Monday to confirm he had the part and brought the car in Tuesday morning. Again, one of your drivers took me home. Late afternoon on Tuesday, Albert Thomas came back after me. Nicholas Silvernail replaced the front cover and gaskets. When the bill was presented to me it was $964.77 - nearly $200 more than what I was promised. Eventually, $50 was removed. I hope such is enough to sustain Griffin Motors. I'll NEVER do business here again. I purchased the car here & have always trusted your service department. NO MORE. I am out $3000 & this one is still making the sloshing noise. I felt the whole time Scott Jones dealt with me he wished to refer to me as "Little Lady," rather than a more respectful tone. He lied to me repeatedly. I'm certain he knew I wasn't happy, for he said, "You look like a nice lady." I'm a nice lady when people deal honestly with me. Not so much when I am being bamboozled. There was NO communication. If I didn't call him, I heard NOTHING. Even the extra part was ordered BEFORE releasing the car to me the 1st. time. It was as if the maneuver was made to make more on the repair. Do your service techs work on commission? Was that the problem? I just cannot believe such is what Griffin Motors has become. I suppose when this car drops the transmission around 100,000 miles, as is Buick's reputation, I will be forced to either have it repaired or purchase another. We've had three leases at this GMC dealership, in addition to taking our lease is in repeatedly for regular maintenance at the parts and service department. The leasing process was very streamlined, efficient, and I felt as if sales people and management were truly interested in what was best for us (financially as well as the best fit vehicle for us). The parts department is without a doubt above and beyond. All of the staff are very knowledgeable and very customer service oriented. I feel sometimes the dealerships get a bad rap, and that people feel they overcharge, but I think that the reason for a slightly higher cost is because you get higher level of customer service and better qualified individuals that perform the work. If we lived in a world of old Chevys and forwards, where people could still work on their own vehicles, then I can understand people wanting to do the work themselves or get it done cheaply. What in the world of vehicles like we drive today, people at a dealership just understand that brands vehicles best. I'd also rather someone be honest and have it hurt (cost) thann tell me it's going to be cheap, and I end up fixing a problem multiple times. Reading some of the reviews for Griffin Buick in Monroe NC i noticed several times Mr. Peter Fridrich, GM, responded to several reviewers that he said he wanted "Everyone that comes to the dealership to leave with a good experience" and to reach out to him if any problems. Our experience was not one of satisfaction. We bought our 2014 Audi on March 9,2023. The car looked very nice but it is a true lemon. The salesman said it had new tires, had never been wrecked, just a "fender bender"once, brakes were checked out as was the whole vehicle, he also said " they dont put cars on the lot until road worthy", we were told they had to raise the price of the car by $3000 because we did not have a trade in" but if we financed the car through them we could save $2000 of that. We test drove the car and i heard a little bump in the back and the salesman stated it was probably "from the new tires". Unfortunately we bought the car based on what was told to us. Twenty minutes after driving the car off the lot, as i was following in a second car, i noticed black smoke pouring out of both exhausts. I immediately called the service dept. and was told it was probably " nothing" but drive it a day and bring it back in if it co ntinues. It continues....when we took it back they said they found " no problems". After taking the car to an Audi dealer to check it out we have a video of the problems. There is a oil leak in the engine which will cause the engine to need replacement soon ,the tires are NOT NEW and there is puffing in the tires, the rotors are warped and the car is not safe to drive in its condition. A video of what was found by Audi was sent to Mr. Fridrich. It is sitting in our driveway and not being driven.... We have called Mr. Fridrich repeatedly and sent emails to him. He has not once responded to us. We have called the Used Car Manager and no response from him.. They will not respond at all. This is Shameful. So ...1. Lied to about the tires, lied to about the car being " safe and road worthy" found out from reading the VIN there was no fender bender,the car was wrecked and had to be Towed Away, so another lie. As far as them raising the price of the car it was a classic Bait and Switch. So after 14 days of owning this car, we now have a lemon sitting in our driveway , we have had O response from anyone at Griffin Buick, and Mr. Fridrich says he wants " people to leave their dealership happy and satisfied, well we are NOT happy or satisfied. Let me begin by saying working with Tom and Tyler (Sales) was a great experience. They were very helpful in working out a deal. We agreed on a price for a new 2022 Buick Envision on 6/24/2022. I told them I was taking my car to another dealership to sell it before coming to Griffin Motors. After visiting 3 dealers to appraise my car, I agreed to sell it to Carmax. While waiting for the sale to be processed and receive a check, I realized how tired I was and didn't think it would be safe to make a 3 hour drive and deal with Charlotte traffic. This was around 2:00 p.m. I called and asked if they could hold the car till the noon the next day. The salesman said it would be up to the sales manager. The sales manager told me "no". He said "I don't know you and you don't know me. I can't hold a vehicle when someone else might come in and want to buy the car." I was not happy about is lack of customer service. I called to schedule a service appointment, but he was RUDE & very uninterested in talking to me or even hearing about the issue we are having with the vehicle!!! He just kept cutting me off & saying "yeah, we'll take a look at it", but refused to listen to the problem! He only wanted the Year & model of vehicle and our name & number, then continued to talk over me & rush "to the point" (getting this customer scheduled & out of MY hair!) & he proceeded to HANG UP on me!!!!! A Customer! (Or POTENTIAL Customer) Because.. I called back & canceled our service appointment Everyone, the negative reviews are accurate here! ** Keep in mind this wasn't an issue of him wanting to speak in person about the problems we were experiencing, because he knew we would be dropping it off first thing in the morning, before work, and leaving the keys in the Dropbox. We therefore, wouldn't have had an opportunity to speak with anyone else before the diagnostic or repair. * When we TRIED to purchase the vehicle, the younger Salesman, with dark hair, treated us VERY poorly! Probably because we were driving my husband's old worktruck because he was rushing to get us there before they closed AFTER WORK!!!! &.. that's exactly what it is, a Worktruck! A little late I know but I bought a pre-owned 2013 Toyota Tacoma from Griffin earlier this year and it was a very unpleasant experience to say the least. I had problems with every department I dealt with(sales, finance, and service). Each problem was caused by negligence, incompetence, or lack of concern. Terrible overall customer service. I had a lousy salesman. He was decent during the sale but after I purchased he was never available by phone or text. Upon delivery of the vehicle it had not been detailed yet because all of the detailers had gone home for the day. I was told I could bring it back. Also the fuel tank was HALF FULL. I never even got a courtesy or follow up call from the salesman. The finance manager prepared the paperwork incorrectly not once, but TWICE. Once in office and the other I had to drive up there again to re-sign everything. The service department was a joke, over 2 hours for a scheduled oil change and tire rotation. Then they had to take my truck next door to discount tire to turn off the TPS light because they couldn't figure out how to read the recommended tire pressure. After all of this I called and talked to the GM about the problems I had and he extended a free oil change to me and wanted to talk when I came in for it. When I called to schedule that oil change the receptionist was very rude on the phone. Then the GM blew me off (he was to busy working sales deals) when I supposed to talk with him about the poor experience I had at the dealership. However the service experience was pleasant that time around. I thought my first purchase from a dealership would be much better than this one. Friendly, courteous, and professional staff, but I've come to learn that they tried to take advantage of me, and partially succeeded. Simply put, I was advised that my tires would not pass inspection. Their professional manner and detailed explanation almost had me convinced. However, my tires looked fine to me, so I took them to another inspection station. The technician there told me that the tires had at least 10,000 miles left on them. Now, I'm suspicious about my "torn" wiper blades that they replaced, which I never noticed before I brought my car into the dealership. So, maybe they got me for $50, but they'll never get me again and I advise you to never let them get you. I did receive a phone call from the service manager. I told him I would give him a chance to make it right. Instead, he tried to talk his way out of situation, implying that tire inspection is a subjective process. If he would have just apologized and offered me something like a free oil change, I would have never written this post. But trying to cover up is worse than the crime, as it only made me more angry and leads me to believe that is a common practice at the dealership. read more

If I could give no stars I would . I thought I was working with a good guy at this dealer but I guess not . My fiancé and I was speaking with Miguel about purchasing a Qx60 did the finance application spoke through email and text . I've expressed in text and email that we would be traveling from far almost 3 hrs away and lets be honest with all the qx60 I've seen I chose this one at this location for a reason so I didn't mind driving . What I did mind was the dishonesty on Saturday morning Miguel text me and ask to send him my fiancé pay stubs and I did and he asked when could he be expecting us I said we would be Leaving DURHAM in the next hour . He said fine I'll call you back to secure a down payment because people are looking at this truck ok no problem . As said I was leaving in a hour we got on the road no call back but I didn't think much of it I didn't want to waste time . WE LITERALLY GOT AN HR AWAY and me giving a courtesy call something I couldn't get from him and told him hey we are an hours away he text. He text back saying the truck was in the process of being sold .HOW!? His reason was he didn't know I was coming ! How when I told you we was leaving in an hour not to mention you called me telling me he wanted to secure the down payment and didn't keep your word . So we called to actually speak to someone and his manager claimed as soon as he came in the car was being sold . How when he told me people was looking at the car you clearly was at work already to know someone else was looking at the car YOUR SUPPOSE TO BE HELPING ME WITH . Not for nothing I'm driving with three kids one being a toddler and I told him I didn't want to waste time coming out there for that specific truck he could of at least called back to follow up since he claim he didn't know we was still coming .Also adding insult to injury he offered to still come and find something else . ABSOLUTELY NOT. I didn't drive 3 hrs to get a Buick I came for that specific QX60 so yea I'm very displeased. Im from NY where it's a car dealer on every corner he could of at least respected my time and my fiancé's time also knowing he works overnight as a ASM and was literally just walking in the door to be out an about instead of sleep . This establishment is by far the WORST place to take your car. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT BUY YOUR VEHICLE FROM HERE. I purchased a 2016 Chevy Malibu from this establish and it has been nothing but an issue since I got it. The customer service of this establishment is SHIT. The receptionist is rude and unhelpful and the service department is a group of uneducated jerks that had me pay to have 100% unnecessary work on my car. I just spent 1000 dollars on my car only to have it malfunction a week after repairs were done. They replaced my electronic control module repair and it didn't even need to be replaced. Then they proceeded to replace my fuel injectors which are now misfiring. I don't even want to bring my car back to have work done by these idiots because they're a bunch of money hungry assholes who try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge for cars and make me get unnecessary repairs. I brought my car in to get a leak in my rear tire evaluated and they proceeded to tell me the hole was on the side wall and they couldn't repair it and that o had to get a new tire. I took it to blacks right down the road and they were able to patch it for 25 dollars. I was livid. Then I had to take my car back to griffin to get an oil change that was covered by my warranty otherwise I wouldn't have gone there. I emphasized that I had to be somewhere by noon after dropping my car off at 9am .... I waited HOURS, no phone call, by now it's 4pm and I call the front desk who seemed like she could care less to be on the phone, she transferred me to the service department. I angry asking what took so long and why they didn't call me when my car is ready and they just said oh yeah I don't know what happened I can talk to who ever was working and see why they didn't call. At that point I just walked out. I've been trying to get in contact with the service manager... or any manager to try to come to a resolution for all these issues and have been given the run around between getting sent to voicemails and having to leave direct messages for a call back. Terrible customer service experience. They sold me a car with a bad battery. The car was only 3 years old yet the battery died within in 2 weeks of owning it. At the direction of the sales associate, I brought my car into the service department. I was greeted by a service associate who was not wearing a mask (as mandated by the state of NC). He then shared his political views and reluctantly put one on. Not the greeting I expected. It was difficult to charge the battery & after 45 minutes of driving, it died again in the service lane. Instead of apologizing or offering any remorse for the bad situation, the service associate said "who's paying for this?" I shared that I needed to leave for work in an hour and a half and was instructed to wait in the lobby, they will update me with next steps. The next update I received was that the service associate was taking his lunch. I had 10 minutes until I needed to leave for work at this time and no update. I leave the lobby to notice my car is facing a different direction as if ready to exit the service lane (it had already been serviced without my permission). After asking for an update, I am told to wait again in the lobby. The used car manager appears then to tell me they will only cover my battery if I purchase an extended warranty. I ask if he is certain that it's the battery as I had received no such information. I decline the extended warranty and need to leave for work but am told again to wait in the lobby. The new service associate appears & says "you are good to go" and directs me to the cashier who hands me a bill for $195. Never was I asked if I wanted them to replace my battery. The price was never shared with me. The only update was to ask me to purchase an extended warranty. Conveniently done at the time I openly communicated that I had to leave. I believe Griffin Buick GMC took advantage of me as a woman and used my time against me. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

The salesman was good at the beginning and nice but my main problem is he told me at the end when we couldn't make a deal that the wrong discount tag was hanging in the car and they couldn't discount any more. he said I saw the but I never said I saw it in the window. This was on Thursday and without the salesman knowing I went back Sunday and looked at the car and the tag was still in the window. Why was the tag still in the window if it was put in the truck by mistake? He lied to me and I didn't appreciate it. I told him I came and saw the truck Sunday with the same sale tag in the window and he had a stunned look on his face because I caught him in a lie. read more

Very good, watched tv had a clod drink and it didn't take very long for the repair plus I got my truck washed.

Jane always take care of me. You guys try to provide a loaner when you need to keep my car for a while. I trade at least every two years and Griffin has been the best dealership I've ever purchased from! I don't mind promoting a company to family and friends when I know they will be taken care of.
