I think Griffin is a rip off. I know of 3 individuals who had Griffin for bed bugs and it took them multiple, 5 - 6 treatments, to get rid of the problem. They're method is not effective they're also very expensive. read more

I used this company last year to prevent bugs from getting into my house and never had a problem. This year when they came out, I watched the young man spray and I knew he wasn't doing a good job because of the way he was spraying. I was right because I still have bugs coming into my house. I called the company to complain, and all he offered was to spray again with a charge. The man I spoke with did nothing but defend the worker and offer me nothing. My wife called this company and others on Friday 8/3 to get pricing and details. The representative asked her if she would like to schedule for a Tuesday (8/7) appointment. She said yes, but they told her that a complete payment of $300 is required via credit card over the phone prior having the service performed. She told the person she did not have her credit card and she would call back on Monday 8/6 to pay and confirm if she was interested. My wife did neither, as she was still had not settled on a specific company to take care of the issue. On Tuesday 8/7 at around 8:30 AM I was surprised to see a tech from Griffin was at our door. My wife never told me that they were coming out, because she didn't even know they were coming out. My wife later told me that this was not supposed to happen. They showed up on their own accord. Less than 30 minutes after the Griffin tech left, I called the local Wyoming branch and spoke with a manager by the name of Jon Barrows regarding a miscommunication with the tech being sent out to my home. Jon said that it must have been some error in where my paperwork was placed. "If we wanted to continue with the applications, we were set. If not, contact him back and he would take care of the situation. On Wednesday 8/8, I left a voicemail telling Jon that we were going another route and that we would not be using Griffin. He returned the phone call and told me they record the phone calls and he heard my wife say yes to the appointment. During my phone conversation with Jon, he asked if I wanted to hear the phone call and I said no I trust him and that I would speak with my wife. I never heard "the recorded phone call". My wife agreed that she did initially say yes to schedule the appointment. However, later in that same phone call the gentleman she spoke to said, "In order for us to send a technician out to the property, we need the full payment up front either by credit or debit card." My wife told me that she never called back to give them the requested credit card payment. At this point the appointment should have never happened. They took it upon themselves to show up and perform the services without following their own set procedures. My wife recounted the phone conversation more than a half dozen times. It was the same message each time. If she wanted to schedule the appointment, she would call back on Monday 8/6 with the credit card she wanted to use in order to have the tech come out. Griffin stated the stipulations as so. "In order for us to send a technician out to the property, we need the full payment up front either by credit or debit card." My wife never called back because she was not sure she was going to use them. She was calling several companies for pricing and details. At this point Griffin should have never sent a technician out. Griffin gave my wife their stipulations. My wife was under the belief that, if she wanted to set up the appointment with Griffin, she would have needed to call back with the credit card payment. No company should just show up at someone's doorstep to perform any work without everything being confirmed and stipulations followed as laid out by the company. Griffin just went around their own guidelines to try to get business by any means, including using deceptive and unethical methods. read more

We hired Griffin to keep our lake house under wraps with pests throughout the year. They did a terrific job dealing with our spider situations. I had tried buying our own treatments from Lowes with no avail. Huge improvement of interior insects as well! I have been very happy so far.. with the rodents thats another story. We have had mice coming inside repeatedly with nothing they have done seeming to slow them down! I don't know if this is the same mouse or his whole family. I have had better luck with D-con so far than they have had with everything they are doing! The D-con is WAY less expensive btw... read more

Griffin Pest Control is based in Grand Rapids but does the Ann Arbor local area. We have used them for 12 years. When we bought our house the previous owner had them come quarterly and said we should do the same. We have huge trees on our lot and a lot of them. Large trees breed bugs and rodents. Griffin workers come quarterly and spray and set traps and are in and out unnoticed most times. I am not lying when I say that I have only seen a dozen insects, including spiders, in my house over the past 12 years. We have called them to spray for mosquitos before summer parties and that works very well. But, I have only done it for special occasions, it is pricey. I suggest Griffin to all of my clients looking for bug service. read more

They are based out of Kalamazoo but have field service people all over. I called Griffin's Fremont number and was connected to a call center. I called at 5:30pm Monday and they scheduled us for 11:45am to 1:30pm Tuesday. The exterminator arrived at 1:00pm and stayed about a half hour. He dusted for yellow jackets under my front outdoor light fixture and around my water meter. He also checked in the basement for any other entry holes. Overall very quick and professional. Our bill is $185 and comes with a 30 day guarantee. They do paper billing so we didn't have to pay the same day. read more

Would NOT recommend! I hate writing a review like this but I'm at a loss. We've been using Griffin for over a year now and are still having pest issues, mainly ants. They told us to give it time, we have... Initially we only had ant issues by our front door but just to be safe we had our entire yard and home treated multiple times. We've called Griffin so many times to report/complain that we're still getting ants in the house, they send a tech out whose here for literally 5 minutes, they say to give it 2-3 weeks and charge us for the additional visits!! 3 weeks later we're still finding ants but not just by our front door anymore! Now we're finding them throughout our entire house!! I'm borderline OCD so our house is extremely clean and SHOULD be super easy to service but somehow Griffin's not equips to even solve what should be simple issues. read more

Not impressed. Initially we had our first appointment scheduled after 5:30. I got home at 5:25 and waited until 8:00-no show. Turns out the tech game at 5:00, but didn't treat anything because I wasn't home and didn't leave a note. Second attempt, I got home early and the tech came early. He wasn't there long and did not solve the bug problems-especially the carpenter ants. We have had four treatments over the course of the last 9 months. They had to be called back twice and never got rid of the the bugs completely. Our previous exterminator always got rid of the pests. I called a month ago and asked if I was at the end of my contract. She said yes, I have had 4 treatments, so I cancelled and called Eradico. Today I get a call and she says oh, the contract is for the initial and 4 more, so you have to pay a cancellation fee of $63 or you can get one more treatment for $105. I told her that was never mentioned when I cancelled and I already have someone else. because they never got rid of the bugs! She said, oh yes, you did mention that before. I re-read the contract and it does say that if you cancel before the end, you have to pay 60% cancellation fee. It does not say when the contract expires. Buyer beware! read more

Griffin Pest Control has resorted to scams. Six months after my annual contract expired they showed up in my driveway unannounced. The technician placed one rodent bait station by the foundation of my house and drove away. No spraying, no checking the other four bait stations, and no service report. The technician was on my property less than three minutes. I received a bill for $85 the following week for a "Gold Package" quarterly visit. I filed a fraud complaint with the Calhoun County Sherriff's office and had the police contact Griffin to let them know they were not welcome on my property. Griffin then sent my account to a debt collector who resent me the $85 bill with an additional $12 processing fee. read more

I wanted to share my recent experience with Griffin Pest Control and my bed bug infestation. I woke one morning with bites all over and after hours researching on the Internet was convinced I had bed bugs. I read about various ways to treat them and knew that unless I went through the heat treatment I would not be comfortable. I called Griffin Pest control and worked with Sue to get this scheduled. She was very understanding and wanted to make sure i knew my options while all I wanted to do was get it over with. However, after a day I decided it might be worth having the dogs come in since I still could not find any evidence of the bugs, just my ever increasing bites. Frankly I assumed that even if they could not find anything, they would advise proceeding "to be certain". Instead, the gentleman who came with the dogs advised that there was no evidence of bugs. I called Sue and was able to cancel my treatment and went to a dermatologist. I know it sounds stupid but I had poison ivy which looked like bites to me. So much for self diagnosis. Yes it was a good ending but I very much appreciated working with someone who was understanding and non judgmental and in the end, wanted to make sure I received the services I needed. read more
