I found Ashley on Instagram and followed her account through the pandemic. I knew I wanted her to do our family photos. Ashley responded quickly to my emails and even helped with color selection for what to wear. We scheduled the shoot a few days before Thanksgiving. She arrived promptly for the session. There were lots of people and other photographers at our location but she was able to pick a magical spot that was overlooked by the other photographers. She has a good eye for colors and lighting. She had our long list of groupings organized and she easily worked to direct us. She paid attention to making the photo session as easy as possible for my family. My brother in law broke his ankle so she put thought into finding a location he could easily get to. My kids were waking up from a nap and she got them to feel comfortable. Our family is pretty camera shy, but Ashley made us feel comfortable. When it came time to see the photos, Ashley delivered a selection of preview photos within a day or two of the session. I appreciated this because it allowed us time to order Christmas cards. She also got the full gallery to us within a week. I didn't expect her to get them to us so quickly with it being a busy time for photographers and it being a holiday week. I'm really happy with the keepsake photos of my family. I look forward to Ashley taking our photos again in the future.

So when we booked her for our newborn session, we trusted her completely. It was a disaster. The setup wasn't ready, the staging wasn't safe or appropriate for a newborn, and at one point our baby was placed in a position that felt genuinely unsafe. Backdrops looked unprofessional. Photos came back blurry. One usable family shot out of a $725 session. We told her we were unhappy. She volunteered to reshoot at our home -- then on the day, sprang a surprise $425 charge and a time limit that had never been mentioned. Telling detail: she never asked for our address. We hadn't requested a home shoot; she offered it. Years of loyalty, one of the most important shoots of our lives, and this is how it ended. We won't be back.

Not listening to our concerns. The useable pictures all have a old school vignette on them, which give a 2010 instagram editing vibe. I brought up my concerns about the vignette to Omar. Instead of listening to my concerns and offer a solution, he told me that I am "the first one ever complain about it". We did not feel comfortable moving forward with them on our special day.
