I swan every week in the winter! The apartments are mostly upscale and have stone counters and nice finishing. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, all your appliances, and a nice porch. Recently, my dog jumped off the second-floor balcony at my apartment and requires surgery on both front legs. The staff heard about what happened and went out of their way to get him a bunch of treats and toys. It truly meant so much to me that they would go above and beyond like that for both me and my dog. Our bills came out to $2500+ every month for a one bedroom apartment that was mediocre at best, and where you could hear the sound of the highway outside. They seem to pool electric bills, and even after we moved out, I got charged a $75 bill when I forgot to cancel electric although we turned the cooling off and hadn't been there for a month! It has a very corporate feel to the management and we were anxious to get out. Definitely one of the more bland and humorless rental experiences we've had. Residents also leave doggie bags out or don't pick up after their pups. The front office is only open a few hours a few days a week, so good luck getting help if you actually live here. Probably because no one wants to deal with the property manager's behavior for more than a few hours at a time. Now, let's talk about the scam. $500+ in hidden fees nowhere listed on the website. Mandatory fees for valet trash service--even if you don't use it. You have to pay them to pick up your trash from your door. And they actually try to sell this like it's a luxury feature. Same with their key fob system, which they pitch like a benefit. But the truth? If that fob battery dies or the tech glitches, you're locked out. No backup key. No emergency solution. Just hope your leasing office is open--which it probably won't be. The apartment we toured was trash. Water damage under every sink. Bugs literally painted over on the walls. The balcony gate was broken and left wide open to the sidewalk. No deadbolt or interior lock--just that easily compromised electronic fob. They're charging over $2,000 for this. I wouldn't pay $600. It's one thing to offer a run-down unit, it's another to treat people like they should feel lucky to overpay for it. The 3-star rating? Fake or filtered. There's no way this place earns that kind of reputation honestly. When I moved in last month, the interaction with the leasing consultants reminded me of the term "love-bombing" or the honeymoon phase. Now that the honeymoon is over, the agents acting on behalf of Traditions in Lafayette have shown their TRUE COLORS. (no pun intended). FIRST, last Friday (9-5-25) I was the victim of verbal harassment in the common area by one of the residents and when I informed the leasing office in writing (email), I was not provided the opportunity to discuss the incident in person with the senior leasing agent (Torrie Sanders), whereas she had TWO OCCASIONS in the last 48 hours to follow up with me about the incident and give me assurances that my safety was TRADITIONS primary concern AND SHE DID NOT. I notified Lafayette Police Dept. and Officer Mayr telephoned me in response to my online report of the harassing incident to make sure that I felt safe and to inform me to contact the police department if there is any repeated harassing incidents by this un-named resident. On Wed. 9-10-25, my right to privacy was invaded by the maintenance team that was conducting their ANNUAL maintenance repair check. I have only been living at Traditions for 6 weeks, how much repair could possibly be needed after only 6 weeks of reasonable wear & tear.
