I've seen all the negative reviews. I disagree...The vet here Mrs. Amram is an actual caring, fur-baby loving person. She has helped me nurture wild CH kittens back to health when everywhere else rejected them when they showed signs of CH. They were in bad shape, one even had a botfly! She was the only Vet that actually helped these little guys I was trying to save and she barely charged anything for all the work she did on multiple visits, knowing I was just helping to get them ready for adoption. I would not judge her on her staff. As for a rabies shot, it's a law regardless of indoor or outdoor in order to register your animal. I personally have 3 snowshoes and 1 Siamese, I trust this vet over every other in the area. She isn't about the money she is about what's best for the animal. I have also waited longer- why because she has to take the K9 cop first, they are on the job and need what they need immediately. I have no issue waiting when it's someone in service! read more

Dr. Amran is a wonderful vet. She is knowledgeable, gentle and caring. She puts your pets need before $$. I recently had an emergency - The EVCC emergency vet clinic in Highland was NO help and spent hours misdiagnosing my dog. Which delayed his treatment. Dr Amran got him transferred to her, worked with us most of the day to save his life. I am deeply grateful. I have saved two cats from this place. Both cats are great and living their best lives. I came in one week ago and happened to come across this beautiful cat they had for adoption. I filled out an application and they told me the lady who decides would be in the following day to review my application. I called the next day and they said they needed proof that my other cat was neutered and up to date on rabies shots because they couldn't find my records at the hospital I told them I went. So I called that hospital myself and resolved the issue and called back to let them know that I had what they needed. She gave me an email address and I sent it right away and waited. I called a few times throughout the week to see if there was an update and they would just tell me they didn't know and were very vague. So flash forward to today I called again hoping that I'd have an answer. The lady who is in charge of deciding who gets to adopt cats comes onto the phone and says "I never received your paperwork through email." (Which is true because it did not send) So I sent the paperwork to her through their website because there's an option for you to do that, and I wanted to provide documentation for my current cat make sure I was able to adopt the cat there at the shelter. She says to me "I don't go on the website to check that stuff so if you want this cat you're going to have to bring your other cat in and prove to us he's neutered and pay $65 for a rabies shot for your indoor cat that never goes outside and then we'll consider you adopting this cat." Earlier in the week I had quickly agreed to bring my cat in to show her he was neutered (but that was before I had the paperwork myself to prove willow was neutered) and she wouldn't give me a chance to actually make an appointment to bring my cat in. Before she hung up the phone with me she said "I'm sure I'll be able to find a home for this cat who can actually afford and take care of it." I think that's absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. I have purchased two cats from this place. Why would I have such a problem even after agreeing to provide the documentation they needed? I just thought I'd make everyone aware of the type of people who run this business. read more

I tried this place. Despite the negative reviews. My mistake. . I called for an appointment for a dental cleaning for my dog. And was clear I need to get her shots updated. The only thing they mentioned was you won't be able to do the them on the same day. Obviously I know that. I showed up early since I am a new client. Dr is not doing any procedures/ surgeries and she is not medically cleared. Understandable. Should have been told that as to not waste my time. I waited for 40 min for my appt and then just left. They took someone in who arrived after me. ?!? Why did I make an appointment? Not once did anyone say a word to me about "so sorry about the wait" or anything. Reception staff very busy complaining. Most businesses consider the receptionist an important part of the team. Griffith Animal Hospital hired a subpar receptionist. I was told my dog wasn't there and to go to another animal hospital down the street when I picked up my dog after several days of boarding. Anyone can relate to the shock and horror I felt!! Undependable, unprofessional, and over priced. Even when you make an appointment you can still wait 20-30min. But the worst is my baby was supposed to be put down yesterday and after an emotionally draining week of I and my family preparing to say goodbye...an hour before the appointment they call and CANCEL saying they don't have the drug and don't know when they'll have it. WTF!? That's like calling an hour before a planned surgery and saying whoops we don't have the tools we'll have to cancel. read more

Everyone from the front desk staff, to the techs, to the vet are extraordinarily kind to the pets and the owners. Prices are very reasonable and they don't price gouge. This animal hospital is HORRIBLE. I've taken my dog once to see if they could treat her, she was in pain & was having discomfort they refused to admit her because we did not have appointment. Second time, I took my guinea pig & I get that not all vets treat guinea pigs but a dog? This so call animal hospital is filled with none other that people there for a paycheck not for animals. Terribly disappointed!!! Had to put my 11 year old German Shepard to sleep and was told I could come in and wait as they were very busy. Couldn't believe it! Ended up going somewhere else to put him to sleep as they moved their schedule around to accommodate us. My new vet, Ridge Animal Clinic said they could not believe that Griffith animal did not make an effort to accommodate us with this very devastating event! read more

Just took my cat Rosco to this vet for a check up after I adopted him from Munster Humane Society. They were able to see him on my day off from work in the morning. There location is great for mesince I live at the Mansards and they are literally right in front of the complex! They did a full check up on him and they were gentle and kind toward him. They did not rush through my appointment and answered all of my questions about some of his recent activities (meowing at the walls) and how to keep him healthy and happy. He is my first cat and I want to make sure he is as happy as he can be with me too. The price for his visit was much more affordable than I remember with my parent's animal vet checks. read more

I am so disappointed on the last visit of my pet. Although she was very sick close to death. I did not get the indication that she would DIE that night. What's worse is that I never got a call nor a card from the animal hospital. Only call was from the vet who previously was there. So, so, so, SO disappointed with this group. read more

This place is responsible for my little Dachshund, Bella, passing away at 1:30 today. I took her there on Tuesday because she wouldn't eat. She's diabetic and must eat. They examined her and gave me meds. Wednesday she was worse so I took her back and they kept her all day doing blood and x-rays. When I picked her up she couldn't hold her head up or stand on her legs. They gave her subcutaneous fluids which were useless because her body could not absorb them. I called back and they said she needed to eat. The whole problem was that she wasn't eating so how did they expect her to start eating two days sicker than when she started? I took her straight to North Central Hospital where they immediately started her on IV fluids. That should have been done at Griffith because now she was so dehydrated she could not recover and she just kept losing control of major functions and we could not save her. That baby was so precious to me and everyone needs to know that if your pet is seriously ill, chances are it will not recover from Griffith's treatment. She spent her 5th birthday being poorly treated by Griffith and 3 days after her birthday, she passed away. She should be home and recovering, not being laid to rest. Don't let these people touch your loved ones. read more
