AC installation with NO filter. AC died after first day. Coil froze. Failed inspection for several reasons. One literally being a mess with wires wrapped around the pan and an open hole in ceiling. I didn't know there wasn't a filter until maintenance 9mos later! Matt the manager told tech to to get 2 filters. Tech came back with wrong filter. Matt said he would contact me with a time and day to replace filter. Week later never heard back. ***I picked this company bc they were a small family business. I feel they were NOT transparent in letting me know they were in the process of selling and merging w a large company. I should've been given that info to make a more informed decision as who I would go with for a new AC. If I knew they were considering a merge I DEFINITELY would have gone with a different company for a new AC!! read more

Griffith Cooling And Heating has been servicing this house since 2016. Also, I have 2 more properties that were served by your company. Up until the hurricane happened, I was satisfied with all of your work. After I got power in my house, I discovered that a mini split was not blowing the cold air where my 83-year-old mother was staying. The room was very muggy and hot. Some type of object ran into the unit and damaged the coil in the outside unit, so all freon licked out from the outside unit. I called your company and I got Dorothy. She set up a technician to come out. A technician came to my house the next day and told me I needed some type of coil and there was no ETA that could be obtained by your company. After a while, your phones started working in your office but there was no Internet yet, I was told by Whitney. So, almost 3 weeks after the hurricane, we still did not have air in that part of the house. I called your company again and Whitney told me it's a discontinued item and she has no idea when it can be found or found at all at this point. Then I asked for a new outside unit to buy, but I never got a definite answer from Whitney on the new unit to install. She was talking very fast and nervously constantly, interpreting my every word, and telling me the phones were ringing off the hook and she is very busy, and I had a hard time understanding what she was talking about. I just asked her to speak a little slower so I could understand her with a little joke (I can not think that fast, LOL ) I think Whitney did not take my remark that well. She hangs up the phone. It left me in the dark. Next day, I called another air conditioning company, and the technician came the same day. Within one hour of work, he welded the pipe that had a leak, it was ugly but it was fixed. I was so upset that the company I used for all my 3 houses' services and repairs, in addition to all the referrals to my friends. The next day, I called your office and Whitney answered the phone. I just asked her why your technician could not weld the pipe 2 weeks ago as the other technician did. She told me that your company does not do repairs, only change parts for safety reasons. I was not rude or upsetting her of any kind, but for some reason, she was not nice at all and told me she could not help me at this point and hung up the phone. ( The reason for my last call was that I was going to ask if you guys could get me a new outside unit). A few days later Dorothy called me to tell me that I should take my business somewhere else. Matt, I don't have to work with your company. There are many others, but you should know what happens when we all really depend on your service at the time when we need you the most. read more

Had Griffith out for an annual check up. Nick was my technician and did a very thorough pre inspection asking questions about my ac and how it seemed to me. I would like to say thank you to our friend and trusted HVAC resource, Grittith Cooling & Heating. We had an issue a week or so ago that the compressor was not kicking on. Brandon came out on short notice and fitted us with a new capacitor on the spot and we were up and running. He advised us that our surge protection was very old and had likely gone bad causing (not preventing) the issue he had just fixed. He was able to install a new surge protector on the spot for a reasonable price. He then tested the system to assure it was all working properly. Thanks Brandon! Today Brandon came out again on short notice because it seemed our AC would not stop running and we didn't feel it was cooling as well as it had been. He checked everything and assured us the system was working as expected. We thought that maybe the thermostat might have gone bad so he did what he could to diagnose it. After checking everything about the system itself Brandon went into the attic to check the venting. He found where a return had become disconnected, and our system was pulling in attic air (which totally explains why the system could hardly keep up). He repaired the duct and waited until he was sure everything was working great. Thanks again Brandon! Austin came by today to service our air conditioning and heating system. He flushed the drains, added tablets, checked everything and sprayed the top of c/u fan motors with zinc. He was extremely professional, thorough, and polite... (he even dealt with my crazy dogs very well!!!) I highly recommend him as a service man! He was a joy to have do the job!!! I think he deserves a steak dinner!!! read more

They have came out to repair my AC twice now, they have been honest both times and did not try and scam me like other AC companies in the area. They were at my house within 10 min after calling today at 5:30pm. Technician was very nice and knowledgeable. Quick fix and they were on their way. read more

I just had my entire system replace by them and they are worthless. It is so hard to find good providers of service and I am glad to say I have had nothing but an amazing experience with your company. I have to pay an extra compliment to Nick though. I can't say enough good things about Griffith Cooling and Heating. We were introduced a few years ago after experiencing 3 other companies trying to replace our home system and stating we had mold throughout the whole duct system. Griffith came out and the and a wire was disconnected to the outside unit. Total cost was approx. $70. The next day the system shut off. (Sat) Griffith immediately sent a tech and a breaker box in the attic was tripping. They fixed it. On Monday, Delores called and was and was upset that the tech missed it on the first call. She wanted to return our money. What? No way, we were so happy to have such an honest professional company. We have since then used them for investment properties, new systems, maintenance & our personal residence. They are superior to any Heating and Cooling company that I have used in the past 20+ years in Real Estate. So, Thank you Matt & family for being excellent, honest and professional. read more

Called on a Saturday for service of a possible wiring issue. Tech called back and tried to encourage me to wait until Monday. Seemed they didn't want to come out on a weekend. I said I was willing to pay the extra fee for a weekend call-out since we had renters arriving Monday and didn't want to inconvenience them during their stay. The tech came out and said he couldn't address the issue until Monday and it required two techs to repair. Monday we received a call saying they didn't have any availability, maybe Tuesday and they would be sending out a service manager. Tuesday they said service manager was off sick. Wednesday passed without a call back. Thursday evening received a call back saying they would not be able to help at all with repair since it was installed by a different company. They had been out to service the system previously without an issue, but now won't touch it. What troubled me the most was that they waited 5 days to tell me they wouldn't help. We manage numerous rentals and have used and referred this company many times before. Extremely disappointed. read more

I have dealt with them for more than 15 years they also service a couple of my rentals. Very honest and not out to screw anybody which apparently happens a lot in this town. Unfortunately, I signed up with a home warranty that Griffith is not a part of. The people that come up with the warranty people more often than not our professional crooks who are perpetually trying to sell me cleanings and other work... Strategically word it so that the warranty doesn't cover... So that I would have to buy it from them for cash. I will deal with them in another post. All I can tell you is, Griffith has never tried to rip me off or Selmi services I don't need. And Dorothy is amazing at explaining things to you in a way in which you could understand. I am not sure if they are the cheapest, and quite honestly I don't care. If somebody offers to come out to your house for free or half the price... You will get what you pay for. And I guarantee you more often than not they are going to try to sell you a pool and clean or some other crap to manufacture business for themselves. I sleep very well at night knowing that if they told me I needed ex... That I needed ex. There are no lingering questions. The first time I hired them was back in 2000 on my old house. And after many times that I have hired them since then... I never have to call them back again and again and again for the same issue. read more
