After visiting Grillen a handful of times it is my number one choice when I crave a burger. They have around 8 options of burgers, 3 options of fries (twisted, chilly fries, home cut) and 4 options of sauces for the fries. Combine all that for the price of 89DKK and for 69DKK during lunch (Monday to Friday). Great place and a total recommend. They make their milk shakes with Ben & Jerry's ice cream! I love getting a bacon cheeseburger and curly fries every time I come to Denmark! Burger is massive! Be wary the pickles are sweet - not dill. Drinks do not come with free refills, which is pretty standard for Denmark, but could take American travelers by surprise. Very nice atmosphere! Skuffet - Enttäuscht - Disappointed I had so much been looking forward to eat at Grillen. It had got great reviews, and it looks like a busy place. I thought Grillen could be the go to place, when I had to go in burger heaven. The burgers were very bad. They did not taste of any thing but dry bread. The big American burgers chains have burgers more tasty. How can it be possible to make onion rings, bacon and cheddar taste like nothing? I had a Triple Treat with onion rings, bacon, and cheddar, and my girlfriend had a John Doe; bacon and cheese. They tasted the same way, and they were very boring. The curly fries were just okay. They were not a crisp, as I like them. The dips were okay. We tried the aoli and the tarragon ones. The only good thing was our milk shakes, but how can you mesh up ice cream from Ben & Jerry's? I might visit Grillen again, but I will only order milk shakes. The staff was fast and polite. They and the milk shakes make it a 2 stars not a 1 star place. read more

Solid burger joint with OK fries and apparently very good Ben & Jerry's milkshakes. There was a line of people waiting for their food or to order, which is always a good sign. The cashiers were working quickly and after I paid I was told that it would be ready in 15 minutes. We waited outside for a little less than that until we were called back. The burger is packaged carefully in paper and a box so it stays pretty, but it seems like overkill to keep fries in a box. The burger was almost as good as the one I tried at their location in Christianshavn but the bacon was not fried as perfectly. The curly fries are the frozen ones that you get at the supermarket but they taste fine. We didn't get dip because we don't like mayo with our fries and Grillen doesn't have ketchup. The real selling point is the milkshake! I am lactose intolerant so I can't handle much, but the few slurps that I tried of my boyfriend's double chocolate brownie milkshake were so good. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that I am annoyed that they haven't taken down the I Dare You challenge sign. I really wanted to try the super spicy burger with some friends but luckily I contacted Grillen in advance and was informed that they don't make that burger any more. It sometimes feels like all I'm eating is burgers, but who can blame me when there are so many great options in Copenhagen?! Grillen Nørrebro has long been on my list to try, and I finally got around to it. Got there for an early dinner and grabbed a seat downstairs, just before it began filling up very quickly. The atmosphere is nice, but nothing special - just what you'd expect from a burger place. The menu has similar options to other burger places, although it does lack the variety that e.g. Halifax has (with two different veggie patty options etc.). But staff are very flexible and will let you substitute chicken for beef or choose a different sauce. All burgers can be ordered "nude" (no bun) or "half nude" (only bottom bun). The burgers are very good, the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned very nicely. The add-ons were great as well. They have chili fries and curly fries, which is a major plus in my book. There are two points that really make Grillen Nørrebro great. The first one is the price. For 89kr, you'll get the burger, fries, and a dip. Compare that to the 120-140kr you pay at other places, and you've got yourself a real bargain! And while, in my opinion, the burgers at e.g. Halifax, Haché or Cocks & Cows maybe have a bit of an edge over these ones, they are by no means THAT MUCH better! The second point are their milkshakes. They are absolute winners! Made with Ben & Jerry's ice cream and topped off with a heap of whipped cream, they are simply heaven in a glass. They are heavy, thick, and sweet, just as they should be. I like their curly fries. Mostly because I've never met a curly fry I didn't like. It's great that in their concept of "design your own burger" they've included options for chosing the type of fries you want. As for the burger itself, I'm not a huge fan, but only because I like my burgers more in the greasy-spoon or Shake Shack style: tiny, moist chewy bun, slightly undercooked patty. Whereas Grillen Nørrebro does it in the same style as many other major Copenhagen chains (like Halifax): large, well-done patty, stiff/crumbly bun. Just not to my taste. Still, I think this place is pretty good for the price. It's certainly one of the more affordable sit-down burger places in town. The service is quick and friendly. Love the bench seating. The setting feels a bit too dark for a burger place (dark wood, dim lighting), but altogether gives a cool vibe. read more

Finally a place that looks neat, is modern has good food for good prices and fast service! I think the person who opened this burger place has been to the USA. It has a very American style I would say. The burgers are very good and the portions are huge. No extra charge for the fries (finally) and no extra for the dip either! Super fast service and really good milkshakes! Would definitely recommend it with your meal! The location is also great as it quite central. There is also a challenge burger which is supposed to be very hot. If you can eat the whole thing you don't need to pay for it and you become one of the people that made it to the wall. Rustic fries are thick, but crispy and curly fries were a hit with kids. Try the aioli and tarragon mayo dipping sauces - really tasty. Kids loved Ben & Jerry's shakes topped with whip. Cold Øl on draft for the big kids. We were very pleased with food - better burgers here than Halifax we all thought. Service was slow, but friendly. Plenty of food fair price by Copenhagen standards. So, I like my burgers (what I'm American, dont judge me). Locating the best burger place in CPH hasnt been easy. I've been to Tommis, Sliders, Bronx Burger, Halifax, CocksnCows and countless cafestyle joints. Ive had some respectable burgers. But this place. This place is mad good. Like really good. Here's why: 1) Curly fries and estragon dip- heaven, probably the best fries/dip combo I've tried in Copenhagen at a lower end place. 2) Burgers have flavour. We shared the fully loaded and the triple treat (and preferred the fully loaded). Maybe a SLIGHT imbalance in bun:filling ratio, but still good. 3) The price doesnt get better than this. 80-something kroner for it all. You'll be walking out still rich n' shit. Going to a place where both the burger and the fries work is important. Yea, the interior may be a little uninspiring and the music takes you back to that time in high school where everyone was wearing Friis og Company, but who cares because burger. read more

My girlfriend ordered curly fries and I ordered the rusty fries we both got the spicy fries. After telling the new waitress we got the right fries within 30 seconds. Burgers were tasty and the fries too. I got the nutty goat which is with cheese, almonds and apples. Only tasted one piece of almonds. We really enjoyed eating dinner here. The prices are very decent, and we thought that the food was really good. I asked the waiter to substitute one of the beef burgers with chicken and that was no problem at all. We didn't have to wait very long for our food, even though there was a full house of guests. The staff was super friendly as well. My only two complaints are 1. we were three people and we were seated at a table for two- so there was hardly enough space for our plates/drinks on the table.
