I noticed that the Bad reviews were by women, and in my experience, a lot of women rely on Emotion rather than Fact in most cases. So I discounted their bad reviews and decided to give Affordable Sprinkler Services a call. I had no pressure in Zone #2 of my lawn sprinkler system. I called Affordable Sprinkler Services yesterday and expected to get Mark, the Owner, who is mentioned in a number of the reviews. A fellow named Nate answered and said he could come right out. Nate is prompt, very knowledgeable and tracked the problem right down to a bad solenoid in the valve box. He had the correct parts on the truck and replaced the bad valve on the spot. Nate also checked the sprinkler heads and found one that did not have a filter in it and he installed one. Quality service at a fair price. When I asked for a quote for a temporary relocation of 4 sprinklers while a birdcage was being installed, AJ's would not quote without coming to the house and charging a fee; no other service required that. Run from this company. The quality of its workmanship is terrible and it takes no risk for the results. I am 87 yrs old and don't walk in the yard since I fell out there and I took his word for the work he did for me, which I asked him to do a maintenance check of the sprinkler system for the season. My lawn service keeps telling me that they are not doing the job since my lawn is full of brown in spots. In their check they found a new head was put on, however it is the wrong kind of head and is too low and not going wehre it should be going, and the other sprinklers are just hitting the sidewalk or over the sidewalk where there are sprinklers doing the job and jsut wasting water. In mid June 2024 had an underground leak on my sprinkler manifold. After digging to get access to the leak(s) he showed me the problem and we discussed the options. After 27 years it rapidly became obvious that rebuilding the manifold/valve part of the system with new materials would be the best long term solution. He replaced all of the original (6) valves with new Rainbird PGA valves and new piping. After getting the wiring to the solenoids finished it was time to test and everything is leak free and working perfectly! His pricing is very fair and he was open and honest in his assements and recommendations.
