I needed work on my sprinkler system, so I checked for local service companies in my area. I came across Affordable Sprinkler Services. They had many good reviews, and a couple bad ones. I noticed that the Bad reviews were by women, and in my experience, a lot of women rely on Emotion rather than Fact in most cases. So I discounted their bad reviews and decided to give Affordable Sprinkler Services a call. I had no pressure in Zone #2 of my lawn sprinkler system. I called Affordable Sprinkler Services yesterday and expected to get Mark, the Owner, who is mentioned in a number of the reviews. A fellow named Nate answered and said he could come right out. Nate is prompt, very knowledgeable and tracked the problem right down to a bad solenoid in the valve box. He had the correct parts on the truck and replaced the bad valve on the spot. Nate also checked the sprinkler heads and found one that did not have a filter in it and he installed one. Quality service at a fair price. We told Mark what we wanted...no sprinklers on our lawn!!!!! We only wanted our flower beds to be watered...period!!!!! 5 visits later with a charge each time I have lawn sprinklers that go off 2 times a day....at 8 am an 930 am even though the timer is set for 1 time per day from 5am to 520 am. I told Mark he needs to come and fix this at no charge to me. He became rude and told me if I didn't like his work go someplace else.....after I've paid him all this money!!!!! And do not have the system he was paid for!!!!! I asked if he was the owner..because I would contact them directly, and his response was he didn't have to tell me that!!!! I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A LONG REVIEW! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE TO RISE! FOLLOWING THE TEXTS! I have been dealing with a company called Affordable Sprinklers. I hired him on July 14th, a gave a check in full, because he told me that is the way he has done business for 13 years. He cashed the check and then went to the supply company. They didn't have the pump or parts for the install. I requested the money back, he told me they will have it tomorrow and it will be installed tomorrow. The next day, he said, he would be here between, 11 - 1, then it rained, he didn't text me back two days later. He texted me back he would be at my home at 2 PM. Now it's Friday, he texted his truck ran over nails on three tires and needs new ones! He then texts me; he will be out tomorrow no matter what the first thing tomorrow! Then he actually told me that the automobile repair place couldn't fix all three tires and would take the morning to fix them. He had told me earlier that he needed new tires, now he is telling me that they are mending them. Now it is Saturday the 18th, still waiting for the tires and tells me he is going to discount the installation. Then he texts me the pump was $600, and his labor was $195! I am now getting upset with him and asking him when will the installation get done! He tells me I am the number one priority. Tuesday, July 21st texts me he is in Palm Harbor and then is coming to me. Why he didn't first come to me and do the install I do not know. He said he would be at my home a 3 PM. 90 minutes go by and he doesn't show up. Now he tells me he needs more parts to finish the job! Wednesday morning, he doesn't show, I am texting him, and finally he texts me back in the afternoon when it is pouring. "You want me to come back and get electrocuted!" Then he texts me I am spending time with my family and my newborn son! He tells me he will be there Thursday July 23rd. Then he states he is 28 minutes away, once again, in the afternoon and it begins to rain! Now he tells me he will be at my home on the 24th, the pumps are finally installed, BUT it needs 48 hours for the glue to dry. We agreed he would give me 50% of what he earned for the installation fee. I told him that was $195 like he told me. He said he quoted me the wrong amount it was actually $100! What a liar. He would give me $50. He told me he would be at my home on Monday. He texts me back in the afternoon, he had to stay home with his sick son. Tuesday, taking the baby to the hospital, the next day, I receive a text that the baby has COVID. Monday, August 33rd, he finally texts me and says he will be at my home the next day. I said I can't make it, it will have to be Wednesday, so he texts me Wednesday for sure! Wednesday, he texts me that he just finished a job and has heat exhaustion and has to go home. Why on earth he didn't come to my home first thing and finish my job I have no idea! He promised to be at my home the next day. Thursday, texts he is running behind but will be there. (Why he doesn't come first thing in the morning and finish my job I have no idea, he will not answer me!) He tells me he has a doctor's appointment at 2:15 PM and will be here afterward. It is now 3:30 and he tells me he is still at the doctor's. I tell him that this is getting ridiculous and I want the full $100! Then he comes up with a list of excuses! Then he tells me he dropped the pump price by $200, I bet that is another lie. I have been texting him for the past week and he refuses to answer me! He texts me NOT to fire up the sprinkler system that It will blow up! How I have to hire another sprinkler service to come out and look and finish the problem. read more

Mark answered my phone call and performed the service at my home. My job was medium in size, trenching and piping additional sprinkler and repair of existing. Mark arrived early and finished early, and the price was very reasonable. I had a terrible experience with Mark one of the owners of the company.  When he was installing sprinkler heads, he encountered an area where the original pipe was broken by county workers when they repaired the sidewalk. Mark, told me to have the county repair the pipe, but originally he agreed to get the whole system working, so I expected a fully operational system, Instead, he wanted $250 to repair the broken pipe. This was above the $750 I paid him to repair the entire system. Unfortunately, I did not ask for a written estimate outlining the scope of work.  This is a must!! if you want Mark to repair your system.  Better yet, avoid using thIs company. Mark was easy to contact and schedule for an inspection. He gave us an honest assessment of the situation and a good understanding of what needed to be done to get the whole system operational.
