We stopped here on our way through during a road trip and it was well worth it! The coffee is very good and isn't too sweet. The gluten free muffins were very good and barely tastes like GF. I have enjoyed every visit that I have had with consistently friendly service. As a college student, the environment is perfect for studying/catching up with friends. One thing I would love to see from this business is an updated exterior that matches its timeless interior design, which I believe would make the building pop out to new visitors. What a beautiful place to grab coffee in Hattiesburg. There is plenty of seating and light to enjoy a cup of coffee. The menu is small and easy to read. Wish they had more speciality drinks but I ordered a mocha latte. It wasn't anything special but it was good. I'd love to come back. Wish they had Matcha Lattes here. You can get coffee drinks here, such as a cup of coffee or a latte or a seasonal type speciality froo-froo drink. Also you can buy bags of coffee to take home for your brewer. That's what we came in for, a bag of coffee. The bags are typically sold as while beans but you can have the staff grind the beans for you if you don't have a way to grind them at home. The staff was helpful in answering our questions - we wanted to get the same coffee that they serve at The Midtowner. And even though we only wanted to get a bag of coffee to take home we ended up getting iced froo-froo drinks because it was crazy hot out and it was a neat little shop. read more

Had Grin coffee at a restaurant and couldn't leave town without going by the coffee shop to pick up a few bags!

This place is great! I first heard about this place on Instagram when they were in the midst of moving to their new location. Being a coffee lover since living in the Northwest I had to visit. I live about an hour outside of Hattiesburg, but visit often for various appointments and I always make Grin one of my stops. The staff is always helpful and the coffee is wonderful. I usually prefer a medium roast from Columbia, such as Grin's Hooty Hoo. However, I have really come to like their dark roast from Costa Rica, Mad Mamma. Also do not pass up the pastries! I recently stopped by Grin for my bags of coffee and on impulse bought two (2) Bacon and Cheddar Scones. Hubby and I had them for breakfast with scrambled eggs and they were delicious! 4/5 friendly folks! i first saw the bag of beans when i was visiting another coffee shop, and then figured i'd wander this way to check out the roasting situation. it's this little spot (i imagined it used to be a donut shop or something) with a roaster set as a centerpiece to the room. they do some drinks at a small bar, and there's some seating to enjoy drinks on site. the team is pretty friendly, and while i worked there for about an hour and a half i think they may have gone through 3 different sets of roasted beans (or maybe it's one batch with some beans coming out at different roast settings?). it's the first time i've hung around a roaster for that long, and let me tell you, that smell is heavenly. if you like coffee, just imagine sipping on some while being productive and then after a bit of time, a rich warm aroma fills the room as the fresh beans spill out. just lovely! read more

I feel like I just walked into Portland in Mississippi. This "hipster" style cafe was born from a couple guys roasting coffee as a hobby. Now, they roast coffee in-house at this quaint, but modern cafe. The Owner and Baristas are super friendly in their trademark, Carhart-style aprons. The coffee options vary well, each with a unique flavor and consistency (check out the menu I posted). They also sell pastries, if you're looking for a morning pick-me-up or afternoon snack. Honestly the best drip coffee I've had in Hattiesburg! They have three different roasts: light medium and dark and they'll be happy to let you know which country each roast came from. I've yet to try their espresso drinks but I think they'll be just as good! The baristas were really friendly and came out with your order really quickly! read more

Grin is a welcome addition to Broadway Drive, and I'm so excited they are serving their own coffee for retail clients. Beautiful renovation work here that was much needed on this side of town, now welcoming you to Historic Downtown Hattiesburg. Tommy is a great guy, and his baristas are nice and skilled.
