Stopped in for a quick afternoon coffee and was pleasantly surprised. It's a small shop and the guy was very nice, and told me they make all their own syrups from scratch. The menu is simple and he hooked me up with an iced vanilla coffee. It was perfect. We sat outside because the weather was nice and cool for May in Mississippi. read more

This is one of the main coffee shops in the area right across the street from Lee's Coffee & Tea which is a much larger place that offers a wider menu with food. While Lee's Coffee and Tea offers bottomless coffee and nice spaces to work they don't have whole cream which to me is a HUGE NEGATIVE as I demand whole cream for my coffee! Manuscript Coffee has a much smaller space but you can certainly find space to do some work or anything else you might need to do at a table. Manuscript Coffee is far more intimate and gives off more of an urban small coffee shop vibe where you might actually meet people and have conversations. Lee's Coffee & Tea is just so large with an upstairs and downstairs people tend to spread out and you are far less likely to strike up a conversation with anybody. Overall this seems to be the best balance of size and menu to make it the best coffee shop in downtown Laurel, MS. read more

Discovered this spot on tik tok and had to stop by on my way from NOLA to Birmingham. The owner made me a delicious iced mocha. I said my order was for here and instead of getting my drink in a plastic cup, it was served to me in a cute glass. The coffee was ok, it just tasted a little strange. The ambiance was not what I was expecting, they had a lot of boxes and things all around and it was a little boring. The service was pretty good for only having one person making the coffee. I would say it's only a one time try, I wouldn't go again. Our quick stop at Manuscript was the perfect morning pick me up. My MIL had the Americano and I had a Chia Tea Latte. The owner served us and had the best smile. He had been spending some time with the couple in front of us discussing the practice of roasting the beans but when it was our turn he was very attentive, hospitable, and knowledgeable.
