    Western Omelette

Checked this place out on New Year's Day. Grabbed a coffee and an Omelette after looking over the menu. Packed with ham and was a very tasty omelette. Not too greasy, and was great bang for your buck. Definitely good to have Grind here since there's only so many breakfast places in Morganton.

The ambience is undeniably amazing and the food is delicious. Came here from a sister's birthday and it is just spectacular. Can't go wrong with anything you order.

The Grind, the Grind, the Grind. I see that customer service is not your strong suit; perhaps management, as well. I did sign up to wait awhile for my food, being told there was only one person preparing the food. But how did you take money from your last 4 customers and then forget that they ordered food??? I did hear a lot of chatter & socializing behind the counter while we sat there, completely ignored, our little order numbers standing tall on our tables. After waiting an hour & a half, I received my simple salad, which was missing the walnuts & Gorgonzola. No apology or compensation, like it was our fault for trusting the staff. Rating: one star for the mimosa and one for the nap.

The food was cooked perfectly this morning and didn't take long to come out. I'm still not crazy about their coffee but a win on a filling meal. The setting is very relaxed in a great location.

I've enjoyed good coffee and some decent food here over the years when I've been in town. They have seating downstairs and more upstairs. It's situated on a historic street on the edge of downtown Morganton. You can enter from the front or back, where the parking lot is. (Watch your step if you enter from the back!) Try a hot mocha here. It's one of my favorite ones in town. :-) On this visit, I tried a hot amaretto latte, which was very good.

Seemed like a very busy place so we opted to try. Took forever to get to the counter to order due to a long line and the order taker was also the barista. The food was prepared in an acceptable time and looked quite appealing. The turkey sandwich was done nicely and had great flavor the Rueben however was terrible as the corned beef was inedible. It could not be chewed as it was very tough. Most of the first Hal wound up in my napkin, but the second half was so full of gristle it was impossible to bite. I took it to the cook to let him know. Left very hungry. #stevensleavin

Stopping for coffee between large cities on a road trip is a hit-or-miss proposition, and often I manage risk by simply going the Starbucks route. I'm happy I didn't do that in Morganton, as Grind was a great place to post up for an hour. My Americano was very good, the baristas were competent, and the place itself was comfortable, with a few different seating options. I look forward to a return visit...

The breakfast burrito with salsa and sour cream. Along with fresh fruit

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The chai tea here is amazing, I haven't had better. I came up here with my father and we were just wondering around and found this place and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Along with the chai tea that we both got my father ordered the quiche and I ordered the breakfast burrito. My fathers first response when he tried the quiche was this is the best quiche I've ever had and it just disappeared. The breakfast burrito I ordered had eggs, sausage, red and green peppers, onions, spinach, and cheese. One of the best burritos I've had in a long. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I will be coming back here again.

The fact that our wonderful waitress went out of her way to correct a mere one-dollar error--without waiting for it to be discovered later--speaks volumes about her character. Even though she seemed pleasantly busy (or perhaps she's simply one of those delightful overachievers who takes genuine pride in her work), she still chose to do the right thing with a smile. It made me chuckle in the best way and turned an already lovely meal into something truly memorable. The food was perfect, the service was warm and thoughtful, and the entire experience left me feeling genuinely appreciated. Thank you, dear waitress, for your refreshing honesty and kind heart. But the only flavor on this filet was charcoal. I asked for a steak sauce and they had a berry sauce they offered me. But still, the steak wasn't good. For market price (which was $48 tonight for a 6 ounce) it was dry. It didn't have any unique taste that made it memorable. The manager did refund 75% of the cost of the meal, and I do appreciate it. I believe the menu should mention that the meat is chargrilled. My husband ordered beef skewers to go with the house special tonight of noodles with Asian sauce. He couldn't eat this steak either. It was so overcooked and again, no flavor. Just charcoal. Again, the cost of the skewers were removed off of the bill. So thank you for that. I'm giving this place 3-stars because we really wanted to love it. The ambiance was nice. We didn't have a reservation but were seated promptly. All of the employees were very welcoming. But the food left much to be desired. We didn't order any specialty drinks or wine tonight so I have no review for those, but there were many different types of offerings.

A great selection of proteins on the steam table and a nice variety of the classic breakfast offerings. A big plate of scrambled eggs and I was able to add cheese sauce and mushrooms on one side of my plate. On the other, some sausage links (very overdone) and some sliced ham (extremely salty). Lots of other high carb options available including biscuits, pancakes, French toast sticks, cheese and plain grits, home fries and tots. Something that might have been fried chicken livers and also some pieces of fried chicken. A dessert bar with banana pudding, jellos and fruits was also available.
