The winter landscape was not terribly bad though, as I saw the iced pond and the snow on the pine trees (were they pines?). I also walked by the statue of Smokey, and the grave. It was nice to see it, I think Smokey is a good symbol for ecology and may interest people in environmentalism. It is great to get children and adults involved in these topics, and this garden and museum are a great start.

There are classes you can pay for and they'll teach you how to ski but I don't think it's necessary because you could learn in your own. Starts with a beginner area then moves on to bigger slopes etc... I stayed in the beginner area. The view as you go up the mountain is breathtaking in the winter with all the snow ! It's like a 30ish minutes drive to reach the place but it's a beautiful scenery! There is a warning to bring chains for your tires and many did but it's not bad if you go without them just be careful. The food place served food but you can also bring your own and eat on some benches they have there. You can rent your gear there or places near it and bring it. Once there you can go in and go out as many time as you want since once you buy the day pass you just have to zip it in a visible place to be able to go. Didn't do the zip lining but the skiing was fun!

We asked the man who was sitting on his porch if these were the stables and he didn't even attempt to get up from his chair. Obviously we didn't know the area. He yelled from his chair and said, "If you want to get out of your car and talk to me you can. We're not drive up service!" So needless to say we just left and didn't attempt to try and get a tour from this man. I should've known judging by other reviews and judging by their answering machine service. His entire demeanor was very rude and almost like he hates people. Maybe he just hates people that get there anytime close to 2pm? We had arrived at 1:45pm, I guess that was still too late for him. I'm still trying to understand if we did something wrong or if we were the ones being rude. I would not recommend this place if it's your first time. Seems like this man will suck the fun and life out of your first time experience.

We visited during the summer and got the $50 unlimited rides deal, which was a great value for the…read morekids. Our favorite attraction was definitely the Mountain Coaster! The ride to the top has incredible views, and once you reach the top, you control your own speed on the way down. Two people can ride together as long as the combined weight is under 300 lbs. My kids also enjoyed the zip line (it's pretty short) and had the most fun tubing. The downside was the long wait--the lines were so busy that they only got about four runs in during their hour. The biggest downside was the parking. The baseball fields share the same parking lot, and since games were going on, there was almost no parking available. We arrived around 10:50 a.m. and had to leave and come back around 3 p.m. to find a spot. Also, be extra careful walking through the parking lot because there are lots of cars moving around, and some drivers are focused on the games instead of pedestrians. One tip: fill out the waiver before you arrive--it speeds things up. The $50 special couldn't be purchased online, so buying tickets took a while. Also, be prepared for expensive food. Overall, we had a fun day, especially because of the Mountain Coaster and tubing. I would definitely come back--but probably during the winter when there aren't baseball games taking over the parking lot! I think the experience would be even better then.

It's a blast with beautiful views. Then we got our wristbands for snow tubing. You get 3 hours of fun for $38 each adult. We did several of the chutes, but as it got warmer and warmer, they had to shut some chutes down because the snow was melting so rapidly. Then we got a snack from the food trucks, which is awesome. Plenty of picnic tables. I had the best elote style roasted corn, and I could not believe it was $5! Advice: get there early or lines get super long (it is spring break so maybe it's not always like that) And wear shoes and clothes you are willing to get dirty and wet. I wore sneakers which were definitely the wrong footwear. Muck boots would have been great. I highly recommend this for a super fun day!

Came 12/27, waited in line for 20 minutes, told to get out of the line and do a liability waiver,…read moregot in line again, apparently everyone in your party needs a waiver and you have to have them all send you PDFs, okay, stepped out of line, everyone filled out waivers, okay all filled out, got in line again, 20 minutes again, I am second in line and they say they are at capacity and shutting down the tubing tickets for 20 minutes. They said come back the next day at 8:45 am to get tickets, okay now today is 12/28, I return with all liability waivers filled out, got all the PDFs, takes 32 minutes to get tickets even though we showed up at 8:45 Go to get breakfast in town, come back at 10, come back, parking lot is at capacity, closed, their attendants only tell you to keep driving, no other instructions, basically saying better luck next time, we swing back around 10:15 now, takes 15 minutes to find a free parking space, get the kids out and ready, have to walk around this area to find the bathrooms, now it's 10:45, finally get to the penguin hill, the only person there attending is to check height, my daughter is 43 inches (with shoes on), in very broken English, the height checker says she is too tall, cannot ride, but we still go so our 2 year old can ride, it is a chaotic mess, absolutely no one is attending to this hill, kids are crashing into each other, people are slipping on ice, and falling with their infants, no help at all. Okay now it's 11:10, we have done one penguin hill, mind you we've paid $140 for four tickets, and they expire at noon (3 hours) My wife takes the 4 year old up to one of the bigger hills she can ride on, it is now 11:57, they were in line for 47 minutes and still haven't come down, my ticket is expiring in three minutes and i did not have a chance to hop on a hill, in total we were able to ride two rides, there are no refunds. This place is so poorly managed, I would not come back here again.

It had two separate areas for the older kiddos and the littles. A bathroom nearby was handy. The elk roaming nearby was an added bonus. The munchkins all had a blast while their parents shopped in town. Just don't end up trying to enter from the wrong direction if it's time for the neighboring school to let out.
