They are super knowledgeable and informative. It has two semi separate bouldering areas. Envision a "J" shape gym. One wall has a long overhang. The other side has a staggered wall. All walltopia walls. I thought the setting was spot on level wise. The gym was exceptionally clean. The carpet material they use is exceptional at trapping the chalk dust. The staff were constantly cleaning up. The other climbers are also on point in terms of politeness! I loved their "happy hour" discounted day pass at $12. Their regular rates are on their website. They have a small training area with one treadmill and other equipment. Their training wall is manual which is so cute! A few areas of improvement. There's no changing or shower area. In the spirit of inclusion, there's one side of the gym with urinals and on side without. The sinks are on the outside of the bathrooms. I think this is fine but folks should know there's no area to shower, wash feet or change except to go into the bathroom stalls. The two brushes that they have are really old and pivoted. Meaning, they are so worn down one side is even missing the brushes. They are also too large to fit into some of the higher holds. In terms of setting, it was solid with great variety - mantles, overhangs, crimps, arretes, traverses, dynamic movements, but I wish that there was a little more creativity. I'm not the strongest climber but I wished their were climbs where I was like "wow" I've never seen that before! Apparently the 5 life setters set a section here every week and they rotate between the gyms so it probably will be the same at the other gyms. It sounds correct as I've visited the other gyms as well. Pro tip. This gym is within walking distance of the Audubon outdoor climbing wall. But they are not associated with each other.

The Dublin rec center gives you a free in-body test when you buy fitness passes which is a very…read morenice little perk but it's almost impossible to schedule it. I tried calling both the people (T & H, for short) who administer the test to schedule it and neither one called me back. I also texted one of them (H) and never heard back. So I called the rec center and they gave me the email for H. I emailed him and he replied and we scheduled it. Then, two hours before the time we had scheduled, he emailed me and said he would be teaching a class at that time and could I do it myself? I had never paid attention to the set-up of the procedure so I said no. So he said he would get someone to cover for him and he'd be there at our scheduled time. I got there early and waited about 15 minutes before I went to the front desk to tell them I needed help with the scheduled test. The person followed me back to the in-body room and pointed to a man and said "That's H". So he was out in the hallway having a conversation and I was waiting (at that point nearly 20 minutes) for him. He came in and gave me the test. Some version of this happens every 3 months when I buy new passes and have to run the gauntlet to get my free test and it is extremely frustrating.

I once attended a seminar with a friend at the Griswold Center on travel writing. We noticed we…read morewere the youngest ones there by a long shot, but didn't think much of it. Then I returned while in Worthington to gain more information and come to find out it is recreation center for senior citizens! But, I said to myself, I'll check this place out anyway because our elders want to know what's around town as well. I was told by one of the workers that a lot of people think it's like a nursing home; except it's not because no one actually lives there and it's for people ages 55 and older who are still living on their own. Even though I got some funny looks while checking out the place, I think it seems like a great little rec center. The building is bright and cheery and the old architecture is classical. Based upon their quarterly information booklets, it's quite an active place. The membership fee is cheap, at $10 annually for Worthington residents and $15 for nonresidents. With that membership people can get discounts to go on any of their planned trips to places around Columbus like the Franklin Park Conservatory, around Ohio like ski trips to Mad River Mountain (aka the Bellefontaine Bump) or to a dinner and a show at La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Dayton, and even to other states like to Almost, Maine to see the Northern Lights. A large number of events are held right at the Griswold center from seminars on armchair travel to candy making and cookie baking classes. Griswold Center also helps people with their shopping - grocery and occasionally the mall. Educational opportunities are also available, such as tax assistance, computer basics and language classes. Fitness is a pretty big thing at the Griswold Center. There is a fitness center and people can have a personal trainer or join a fitness class like Pilates, yoga, table tennis and more. Dance classes are yet another option, including line, ballet or perhaps zumba (dance aerobics). Support groups are an important asset, including Alzheimer's for those who have loved ones suffering from the disease or are suffering from it themselves, a widow and widower support group, a diabetes management support group and a host of others. Creative arts incorporates cross-stitching, drawing, watercolor painting, writing or teddy bear making. Cards and games featured are bingo, bowling, bridge, poker, billiards and mah-jongg. Health and wellness is important and the Griswold Center offers clinics, nutrition counseling and massages. I think for this I'd have to say the four stars means "good" to me. Obviously, other than that seminar, the place is not for my use.

What a great experience…read more.. This was a blast. Wifie took me here for my birthday and we really enjoyed ourselves. The place is very cool - well taken place of - and totally not what I expected. The decor was very fitting. The owners are great folks. They taught us how to throw an ax and made us feel super comfortable. This place is an AWESOME time - well worth the money.

Lots of circuit training equipment and free weights, and it's big enough that it never really gets crowded whatsoever. Recently I signed up for my first class- a combination of step aerobics, kickboxing, and total body conditioning. Vicki the instructor, is no joke. For $55, I get 3 hours of class per week (1.5 hours Tues and Thurs) for ten weeks. What a great deal. Oh, and it's only $75 to join the rec center for THE WHOLE YEAR. But wait, there's more! Not only does that get you in here, but you can go to ANY rec center in the Columbus parks and rec. So if this place is closed (which it is on Sunday and Monday) you can go check out any of the other centers that may be open. You can visit the parks and rec site to see what each facility has to offer in the way of fitness classes and whatnot. Check it out!

I have visiting the Recreation & Physical Activity Center or RPAC for short at The Ohio State…read moreUniversity campus for years for a tour and when the State Summer Games for Special Olympics Ohio is held there when Volleyball, serving lunch and dinner there at times for huge events, and other things that the RPAC hosts. I have to get my soda from a soda machine because the RPAC in the basement near the lockers only takes payments from students and facility who are members of the RPAC, but they have huge space for working out, taking fitness classes, and another pool that has 8 lanes (25 yards) that has a movable floor and waterslide area for families.
