Most of the time the checkers don't speak except to say there you go, have a nice day as they hand over the receipt. The other day I looked at the guy checking and said "you're welcome and he just turned away. I went to customer service and told the guy there that since my money spent there helps pay the help, they could at least say thank you. He just nodded and looked the other way. I know how hard it is to find help. these days, but it's important to train the checkers and other staff the importance of treating the customers courteously. I live out of town and have to drive quite a ways to get to the store. I guess I better find another grocer as I won't be treated that way any longer. I guess my business isn't wanted.
