Absolutely ridiculous that one checker at the register. Many employees...one checker. Horrible service.

I checked out with what appeared to be a young new cashier. (no thank you at all) She checked out all my $119 worth of purchases and bagged them. They included a heavy 40 pack of water and 2-40 # bags of salt. I requested help out. (they were heavy!) No one was coming! I waited. I finally told her I'd be at the front door. Waiting..... Finally I asked George (I asked his name) from the self check out and he said he would help me. That is what he did. Put all the heavy stuff into my car and was kind about it. I have never been to a Wal-Mart Supercenter before. I live in San Francisco and they are banned by the city, because they are too big. I was impressed by the incredibly low prices and vast selection. read more

This used to be a really good store. Today there was a panhandler at the front entrance even though there is a big sign that says "NoPanhandling". 2 Regular registers were open and about 14 self checkouts of which approx 8 were credit card or debit card payment only. I was going to pay cash and had a $100 bill so I went to Customer Service to find their employee hanging over the counter and then told me she couldn't break my $100 Bill. This is tourist season out here in South Dakota and I'm sure they got a taste of this run down Walmart. read more

We were drifting across the country in an RV and we showed up a day early for our reservations in the State Park. "Perfect," my wife thought, "Now I can get that 'pampering' I miss." We were too late for the service when we pulled in and decided to dry-dock for the night in the parking lot. Nary a peep from the store and she got all the pampering (6 hours) she wanted the next day. Yes, they have signs that say "No Overnight Parking" that are covered for most of the year and displayed during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, but they are smart in allowing it at other times. Between her services and restocking they took us for a few hundred dollars. That is a SMART BUSINESS MODEL. And, greatly appreciated. Stopped at the tire center on Sunday, November 10, 2019, during the storm. They took care of us and allowed us to sit with our dogs inside near the tire center entrance. The most helpful and friendly associates we have had a Walmart. read more

Main store staff is helpful and courteous. We've had good luck with grocery pick-up and ship-to-store. Automotive service area is a disaster. Rude, zero sense of urgency, and false promises. The last time we were there, they had 4 technicians working and during the first hour we waited there wasn't a single car in the shop. This after we were told it would take 30 minutes to get our car serviced. Needless to say, this was our last time... read more

If big box shopping is your bag, stop by this Supercenter. Typically I loath Wal-Mart and all that it represents, but as an undergrad at BHSU, I loved this place. Since moving out of the Hills, this Supercenter still makes headlines but for some rather interesting reasons. South Dakota is notorious for harsh winters and this Supercenter has been a victim of it on a number of occasions. IE, the roof has caved in a couple times due to excessive winds/snow. "Tragedy" aside, this Wal-Mart is much cleaner than the one in Rapid City and is worth a stop if you are doing some bulk/bargain buying. read more

Walmart is the only place to go around here with great prices. I drive 11 miles to shop there and I still save money driving over there. Mark, If it weren't for us, "Stupid Locals" you wouldn't have a rally to go to at all. read more
