This is a really small grocery store. It's got a big parking lot, which is nice and it's convenient if you live nearby, but the selection is super limited and a lot of the fruit was well past their freshness dates. Everything here is way more expensive than it should be. Produce is usually past its prime and they sell expired items on 'sale.'

A smaller than average groocery store with a decent selection for the size. Prices on some items were higher than usual but with very limited shopping options in the immediate area, we were happy to pay a bit more. You can do everything in your power to avoid racism and discrimination, but if you don't have your white people with you you will catch it. Lynn's Dakotamart in Lead, SD will not take a gift card to Dakotamart (that was welcomed on the day before) and refused to take a check from a native non-profit organization 501c3 organization. This is not the first time this has happened at this dakotamart, the last time they tried to refuse a check, our white guy came in and stood with us at the register and then the manager ok'd the check. The manager Julie claims they are not affiliated with the Dakotamart in Pierre where the gift card was issued and that they don't carry the same policy. I strongly advise patrons traveling from far away to avoid this establishment. No equity, blunt racism and discrimination. read more

I just shopped at Lynn's Dakota Mart and lead. The customer service was incredible. They were so nice and friendly. The only thing they didn't have that I needed was a sharp butcher knife. They have some pairing knives. But the food stock was great. read more

A-Ok, we got the provisions we needed. All the basics plus a few surprises. Lots of curds! We got a bottle of 19 crimes to wash it all down. Just outside of Deadwood as you head to Lead and the only market around. read more

Gas station employees - guy with neck tattoo and girl with nose ring are extremely rude and unprofessional. Tried to fill our side-by-side up with gas. Guy said he wouldn't authorize unless we came in first. Said we need to come back in after to pay. Fine , we did that. It went through the pump payment system and we receive the receipt. Went back and told them how ridiculous this was. They told us to go to another gas station next time. We comment how stupid. The girl came back out and called us bitches, screaming at and flipped her middle finger at us, continuing to do so as we left. Never again!!! read more

Not a fancy store, and the produce department could use some help, but the employees are polite, considerate and trustworthy (I left my wallet by the card machine and came back the next day to get it. They had it in their safe with a sticky note with my name on it!) There's a good selection of food and their deli is great. Belinda, a manager, is another great person who always has a smile to accompany her efficiency. There are lots of great folks working there but I cannot remember all their names, sorry. A typical grocery store. I bought some fruit and cheese here. Prices for instant noodles were higher here than in other places. The bagels also were kind of hard. I guess it's okay if you need a grocery store, but I don't think the selection or prices were that great. read more

For what it is, I thought the Dakotamart was just splendid. I was able to get organic items there, and I found some gluten-free items as well. Those are things I couldn't easily acquire in my regular grocery store at home in KC. The service was extremely friendly, the produce was fresh, and I thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience. Conveniently located, and has everything you'll need. There's an Ace hardware next door for the rest of it. People are friendly and helpful.

The only grocery store within 20 miles, but not suggested. If you just need to get a couple things you can go here, but anything more than that drive the 20 miles to Spearfish. I don't know how many times we have picked up items from Lynn's and got them home and then realized that they were expired for a month or even more. After arriving in town late one afternoon we got everything we needed for our stay at the Dakotamart, including reasonable steaks and corn on the cob for a nice home cooked meal. Not the most expansive selection I've ever seen but we got everything we needed and the staff was friendly. read more
