Many years ago I was hesitant to come here. I'm a planner. I like to review ads and sort through my coupons to meal plan instead of going to the grocery store blindly. I have a budget and I like to stick to it. However a friend insisted I come here 15 years ago. Back than I wasn't impressed but did get a good deal - my husband, met him in isle 2! But sadly it was another 13 years before I ever went back. Frustrated with the ever raising costs of groceries and my hatred (yes, strong word but my feelings are strong) for my local Giant I gave them another shot and am glad I did! Since my first visit many moons ago they became more like a regular grocery store, offering more than just snacks and all the departments (meat, diary, canned, produce, etc) that you would find at your local grocer just on a smaller scale. Unlike the old days they now have bags! No more sorting trying to find a box for your loot! I admit I still don't shop here exclusively for my weekly grocery shopping. I'm still a planner and like to go in with a list and leave with every item on it. While you can't do that here you will knock off a good chunk, especially if you are not partial to a particular brand. I have seen flyers from time to time with their specials but don't think it's something they do on the regular so it is hard to plan. You never know what you'll find till you get there. Where they excel is juice (in both price and selection), cleaners (although not cheaper than Dollar General), snacks, and freezer items. I also think their prices and selection are good on cheeses and dairy products although you need to watch the dates closely. Pet food tends to run more and the selection isn't as great. And while they do have a nice, but small produce selection that looks good in the store I'm disappointed 80% of the time on its freshness when I get it home. Organic brands can also be found here, although not as plentiful as other discount grocers. Meats are also hits or miss, some weeks I find hamburger/chicken priced higher than Giant and not looking so good and other times (like this past week) I hit the jackpot with both freshness, selection, and price. I don't know if they take coupons but it's worth looking into. They do however offer a $3 coupon if you sign up for their emails. Be sure to bring a pen to the store as you add your name and phone # to the bottom of the receipt showing the money you saved and they have drawings to double it. There is a clear box for entries at the window by the exit/entrance. This is not common knowledge and something you have to find out on your own. I've never won but typically save in the $65 range on $100 worth of groceries so I'd love to win me some $130 in free groceries! Also...if you see something your family uses on the regular at a good price, stock up! It might be awhile till you find it again. And who knows, maybe if you're lucky you'll leave with a significant other...like I did! read more

They can take Taylor Farms off their shelves. They are in a level one recall of their bagged lettuce and they STILL HAVE IT IN THEIR SHELVES. Thankfully it looks like no one has touched it. Just because you offer lower prices doesn't mean you get to put the customers in harms way. I'll never buy any produce from your company ever again. read more

I hesitate putting a review here because I've been a loyal customer for years. I've watched this place go from one of the best stores to shop at to one of the worst. 2 main things: PRICES & customer service. You have not stayed competitive..... when you can find better prices at Wegmans and Giant for certain things, it's a huge sign of trouble. Employees are certainly not as friendly and helpful and definitely not enough cashiers for the amount of customers you have. I want to continue to support, but when I have to sift through a lot of low quality products to find the few great deals you still have, it's simply not worth it. I'm more shocked at some of your pricing than Giant. Disappointed. At least train your employees to be better and support them if you must. read more

Fix the Large Hole that has a straight shot to the women's toilet located right under the doorknob. Bathroom is located next to employees breakroom while employees mingo around including the manager. It is a really nice store prices are higher than what you would expect but many quality items. read more

They do have some good priced items however, the customer service is very lacking, I tend to have to wait in line for over 15 minutes because only 1 register is typically open and 5 people are waiting, and it smells like mildew when you first walk in. there is no yellow gatorade. i am crying. good service but still... i want my yellow, lemon lime gatorade- I went all the way to Wegmanns for the Gatorad... and there is no mild/not too hot guacamole, it was all "hot" or "extrem spice". good fish tho, keep it up... Our family can always find something great that we don't see elsewhere. They have a lot of the regular things we need to buy but they also have a rotating and unpredictable selection of specialty items at amazing, discounted prices. We save a ton on groceries with the help of this store and Aldi's. Our family includes people who are gluten-free, vegan, and those who are neither of those things. We can find so many interesting and delicious items for all of us for snacks and making family meals that can accommodate everybody. The selection is usually unpredictable but it introduces us to a lot of new interesting foods and the prices are so ridiculously low for most of the items we buy. Love this store!!! read more

Grocery outlets appeal to me about as much as any other outlet stores... usually packed with (pushy) people looking for a "deal" and also means, no customer service. Such is the case with this store. I'm sure you can find something here that is worth the trip, but honestly, it seems like more work than it is worth. read more

Been shopping here for years. Went in today and was talked to by 3 employees about not wearing a mask. 1st person was rude. Asked if I had mask. I Said no. She walked away , said nothing, and grabbed a box and I still refused. She said nothing amd went and got asst. Manager. 2nd person was nice and understood if you have medical excuse you don't have to wear one. 3rd ( manager) asked if i had a mask. I said no due to medical condition. She looked at my kids and I and just walked away. Said nothing. Will not be going back. 2 stars for pricing, selection and nice asst manager and cashier. read more

If you want some buy expired food from people who discriminate this is your place. The employees are rude and half the junk is laying out in the sun since the store is too small. If you like expired boxes of goods that bake in the sun days on end and want to save a nickel, maybe you might like it, but otherwise move on. read more

A very good discount grocer unless you have questions for the staff. This store is very neat and clean and has some excellent prices. While I was in there this past Saturday, I found black forest ham that was $.17 per pound. Seventeen cents a pound is an insane price even if it is close dated. There were plenty of other deals to be had as well. Two strikes against this store are the staff are kind of rude and the selection is pretty limited. If you can avoid asking questions like where something is, you will not get irritated with the staff. read more

Let me start by saying I use to shop here all the time, but times are changing. during this crisis.I shop for instacart and go to a local competitor's to complete orders. I personally shop at this store great bargains, nice selections. Having gone here last night, in the midst of this crisis, they are not taking sanitation seriously . I voiced my concern and was told they were to small of a business to wipe everything down between cutomers or make any distance accommodations. I was shocked. I called the manager of the store today and expressed my concerns. The answer I recieved was very disappointing. Worse than the cashier. She expressed that it is not their job to keep us safe. They wipe down when they can, they get busy, and we as customer need to be responsible for our own health and safety. I was astonished at the lack of social responsibility this company is displaying. I will not support them after this crisis is over. I guess I wont be shopping there anymore. They are all owned individually. I will find another location that is more community supportive. This store is very organized with top name brands but the lowest prices I have ever seen. As with any bargain grocery store, keep your eye on the expiration dates, but for staples and snacks, I would go out of my way to shop here. read more

I went to this store about 2mo ago and 3 of the items were no good and expired and several items rang up a different than the price on shelf. I called and the lady said they would have a gift card waiting for me when I got there the next time. Well I go in and ask for manager like she said to and told them I had a gift card in office. They made an ass out of me and surprise no card. This store has mostly expired stuff and even if it's not expired some of the stuff is spoiled. Their produce is awful and the prices on the rack are not the same when rang up so watch the prices! The people are not nice and I will never step foot in this store again. I love this store. If, like my family, you were a former patient at Smilebuilderz, and ended up having to have emergency room care that you will have to pay off (see my review for Smilebuilderz), you need stores like this. Since they remodeled, Amelia's resembles a small grocery store. If you are concerned about freshness, check the dates on products. Many expired items can be purchased for very little money. I have found things like Kashi cereal for 50 cents a box in the past. And do you really care if your cereal is a bit out of date? It's still good! Most of the items here are still in date, and you can find some real bargains! read more

Being from a town that doesn't have an Amelia's within a 30 mile radius, I feel sad. My family has to travel either to Hanover, (which the Amelia's in Hanover is NOT an outlet store by any means, most things are in comparison to Weis or Giant in Hanover), or to Mechanicsburg. Being a family on a very tight budget, I could only wish they would locate themselves in an area like Gettysburg which is about 8 miles away, or Mt. Holly, which is around 15. The prices are great, and the food is good, from what I've seen by shopping there for the past 4 years. So what if your crackers might be a month out of date. They are still fresh, and have a long shelf life anyway! read more

If U are looking for deals than this is your place. I had shopped at this store under its previous name, wasn't impressed. Now move forward one year and it's now the grocery outlet. I took a leap of faith and ventured in to see if they had the one item I was looking for (pizza rolls) that my kid loves, what they had was a 90 count bag for about half the price everywhere else. Now the journey begins to find more deals I can't leave behind. Keep in mind that this store is a hodgepodge of variety that probably changes frequently. Typically with outlet stores most of your time is spent checking the expiration dates of the items your purchasing, I did not find one thing outdated. I did find some of the prices to be about the same as a Walmart/Weis but for convenience and not having to fight the traffic, people, and lines than I am OK with it. U can also find a savings voucher on local flavor.com for 4 dollars off of 40 dollars spent. read more
