It was fun to see some of the products that Lancaster is known for! I had to get the special red soda, and a Whoopie pie. Both delicious! This spot has all the basics you could want. Ingredients, as well as a lot of premade options you could heat up or bake at home. It is on the pricier end being a meat market, but still fun to look around and get a few items!

My party of three walked to browse the various merchants/ vendors and foods. My party of three visited this indoor food market where there were many options of pies, nuts, candy, pastries, baked goods, bread, pretzels, Amish quilts, but disappointedly I did not see any Amish wicker storage baskets. My desiderium was to purchase one large storage wicker basket with inner cloth lining, but to no avail as I am characteristically organized in both my living and workplace space environment. Or, purchase one large raffia storage box with lid. Surprising Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market is open and operational on July 4th, 2026 holiday. Customer service is average. I did receive a sales receipt printed from a very dated cash register. There is a large souvenir gift shop in the lower level via schlepping one flight of stairs. It is not ADA accessible. There is no stair climber available either. Ergo, for the mobility challenged take caution and there is very low headroom in the stairwell. My party of three has always patronized to support local souvenir gift shops as tourists - past and present. Personally, I believe in patronizing brick and mortar local souvenir gift shops drives the local economic tourism. We are non-Pennsylvanians. The souvenir T-shirts are hugely extortionate priced at $19.99. This gift shop reminisce nostalgia of Hallmark stores for mugs, decorative pens, bookmarks, post cards, magnets, pins, printed recipe books, small journals, wall calendar year 2027, et al. The costume jewelry was also hugely extortionate priced $19.99. I freely walked the aisles to browse and circled back. I purchased one post card of Amish horse buggy with a farm field $0.50, one Pennsylvania shape magnet $1.99, and one lighthouse shape coaster $2.99. I have a small collection of post cards from travels. I actually needed a coaster for my workplace desk as I am currently using a makeshift coaster of my own arts and craft creation. I love lighthouses for the long history, significance, contribution to navy and maritime industry, including aesthetic of nature scenic local landscape emitting a sense of peace.

My party of…read morethree visited Cherry Hill Orchards Outlet farmer's market as fresh fruit is a staple in our livelihood style. Fruit is consumed post-dinner and after lunch. We came here without any farmers market food vouchers. I ponder with hope and wonder if Cherry Hill offers apple picking, pumpkin U-Pick or strawberry picking like NYS Hudson Valley. There are no photo stand-in, face-in-hole board, or peep board for families to participate making memories. Customer service is average. I did obtain my sales receipt. At the cash wrap counter Cherry Hill Orchards carries a "Help to Eliminate Spoilage" card to maintain fruit freshness. Blueberries, one pint $4.99 Fresh and plump to sustain for 1.5 day with refrigeration. Chocolate cherry cordials $0.75 each X 2 = $1.50 One milk chocolate and one dark chocolate which were average. I immediately engulfed these chocolates upon entering the car. Maple syrup, 8 oz. jug $10.99 Maple syrup price has risen exorbitant outrageously high in the past decade that $10.99 has almost become the standard lowest price. I have seen sales of $7.99 for 12 oz. glass bottles - once in a blue moon. I have a predilection for maple syrup specifically Canadian maple syrup. Yum! I did not know that Lancaster, PA offers maple sugaring season. Amish Country in Pennsylvania has certainly more presence and impact for farming agricultural lifestyle in Lancaster, PA. Lancaster, PA once served as the capital of Pennsylvania from 1799 to 1812. Secretly, as my desideratum I wanted the 12 oz. maple syrup jug size, but I do not have the space in my duffle travel bag for the long-haul car ride return to NYC!

Now that we all live nearby, the luster is off the pumpkin for me, just a bit...I guess I can't get over an employee telling me they'd never heard of strawberry pie, while also disclosing that they don't bake their own pies. That said they have a great array of produce, sweets, and plants...and I wish the cider was filtered and pasteurized so I wouldn't have to dump puffed up 2 day old bottles.

If you only visit Lancaster for a few days this is one of the places you have to go. My favorite stands: 1) S. Clyde Weaver has insane specialty sandwiches and is one of my favorite delis. I typically get a large roast beef sandwich with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and the sweet bell peppers. The peppers are my favorite and I always ask for as many as they are legally allowed to give me. Caution: the large subs are ginormous so I usually eat half then save the rest for later. The bread holds up pretty well and doesn't get super soggy, but if you plan to eat it the next day, I would forgo the tomato which can get a bit slippery. 2) Kom Essa features the best breakfast sandwich around. It's greasy, but if that's something you don't mind, this is a must try. 2) Mean Cup is for anything coffee/caffeine related. This might be the best coffee in Lancaster. I practically give all my money to their storefront shop on Harrisburg Pike. 3) Shady Maple is the perfect stop for sweet treats: donuts, whoopie pies, etc. They used to have the best maple bacon long johns (hear me out) but I haven't seen them there for a while. 4) The Candy Stand is nostalgia central for me. Pretty much any type of candy you can think of, you can find there. This was a staple for me when I was younger. 5) Long's Horseradish features the best horseradish you can buy in a gagillion different flavors and variations.

We typically would do their Christmas Train, and rarely got back to Lancaster in the warmer months. As soon as I planned my latest summer trip, I knew it had to be on the itinerary. This place has it all from gigantic slides to gold mining sluice areas to a mini kids village that mine couldn't get enough of from the mini vet office to the drive in theater. It was really impressive. From here, you can make your way up the hill where there is a restaurant, a coffee kiosk with a delicious coconut water cold brew (wild!), and plenty of shaded sections with swinging chairs. You'll find paintball, basketball, skee ball, a pedal cart for the family, launching devices. I mean, there is a lot! The place is large so it never felt overly crowded. Come with water bottles. Even with the shaded sections it gets hot. They have water fountains by the bathrooms.

We spent hours at the farm, and could have stayed even longer. My kids loved everything from the large corn maze to the swings to the games to the playground equipment to the large sandbox filled with corn. My kids were 4 and 6 during our visit, but the farm can easily accommodate older or younger. Two notes; 1. The bathrooms in the back of the farm are new & super clean. 2. Don't feel pressure to purchase the add ones (apple chucking and paintball) - those sections are towards the back of the farm and easily avoidable. There was a variety of food options - a few standard theme park options along with specialty options like homemade ice cream.

They start you out with a bag of peanuts. I guess you can shell them and throw the shelves on the floor, but we didn't. They quickly come with rolls with honey cinnamon butter. The rolls were meh but the honey cinnamon butter was outstanding. They'll bring you more if you want, we chose not to. I got the New York strip, prepared, medium, and of all the side choices they had, I went with the corn and the rice peel off. The bill came out at a pretty quick clip. It was hot. The steak was tender a little juicy overall pretty good. The corn was hot and outstanding. The rice was decent or what you would expect from a restaurant like this. We ordered the full-size back ribs, which were just okay for us -- way too much BBQ sauce, and the meat was a bit on the dry side. My husband also ordered a steak (something like a T-bone), and he didn't finish it either. It was pretty average. The portions for both mains and sides are huge. We had corn, sweet potato, green beans, and fresh veggies. * The green beans were surprisingly delicious -- cooked with bits of meat and super flavorful. * The fresh veggies (broccoli + carrots) were simple but very fresh; Ada actually finished the whole plate. * And the bread rolls were the star of the meal -- warm, soft, slightly sweet, and amazing with the honey butter. The drinks are also very large and very sweet. My sangria came in a huge glass and was on the sweet side -- definitely fits the classic heavy-sweet BBQ vibe. Service was great: our server checked on us frequently, and the manager even stopped by once to make sure everything was good. Overall: big portions, great service, very sweet flavors. If you love sweet BBQ and generous servings, you'll probably really enjoy it. For us, the sides and bread rolls were the highlights, while the mains were just okay
