I went in to get a head of cabbage, which I did for a reasonable price! All the produce were fresh. But I also found hard to find Asian groceries and snagged them. There's this famous Korean instant noodle called Tangled and they had them. So I grabbed 3 of them! I was so happy. Oh, I also got a Goody hair scrunci with 2 hair pins for less than $2 - perfect for Pilates ! But here's why I wanted to write my review, I set my phone down in the produce and left I there. I didn't discover I misplaced my phone until I was at the cash register. Thankfully I found a worker and asked her if anyone turned it in, she actually picked it up and put it aside knowing the owner will come looking for it! I was so thankful and relieved that an employee found my phone first and retrieved it for me rather than a customer taking it. I LOVE that Grocery Outlet has this Garden section! Of course they always had a small area inside the store but this year with the outside plant options, this is my new spot to build my garden. Usually I go to the nursery and get my plants. They had a great variety of plants. The only thing I wish was that all the plants had adequate amount of water. First off since the other grocery store closed I always stop here after work. The items might be hit n miss but I can usually find what I need. I haven't had the best of luck with the meat so I usually get my produce or other goods here. I love the old school jams that plays when I walk in. I'm a OG born in raised from the hood from the south side of the V and lol it brings me back. Their prices are a little cheaper than others but overall it's a good place to shop. The condition of the female restrooms at the Vallejo Grocery Outlet on Admiral Callaghan Lane regularly are an health hazard and unacceptable. On multiple visits, I had to leave without using them due to standing toilet water on the floor, clogged stalls with brown water, and damaged fixtures. This appears to be an ongoing issue, not a one-time problem. The restrooms are close to food areas, which raises serious health concerns about contamination being tracked into the store. I've reported this to staff with no improvement and have since filed complaints with the BBB and California health agencies. Management needs to address this. Just tel read more

Been coming here for about 3 years now and service, quality and cleanliness are steadily and consistently declining. A few of the staff are really nice and helpful; and then you have this one mean lady with a nasty attitude. Don't ask her anything. It's a matter of time before they get a health code violation- 2 times meat we bought was rotten. When my dad first started working in the bay area and come home to Southern California every weekend, he would always bring us something back from his favorite store. What he called his "goodies" place to shop from Tru Blue cookies to Stars & Stripes soda...it was sure to be an interesting treat. From small beginnings...to its broad expansion, Grocery Outlet has also become my number one place to shop. Not only is it conveniently walkable from my home, but I can usually find what I need on the cheaper side of life quickly. People are always surprised when they're able to get that rare find. Some of my faves are Polar Ice seltzer water to Milton's multigrain crackers. Grocery Outlet also has a pretty impressive beer & wine section. I used to love this location, I've been coming here for several years, and would shop at least once a week as they always had what was needed and it was a fun store to shop at. However lately whenever I go this location does not have what I am looking for or the food is expired especially dairy and produce. On multiple occasions, most recent being yesterday I have walked out of the store empty handed. Check the dates on dairy products as they keep expired products in the refrigerator. I gave this business a second try but it wasn't worth. I bought half n half on three occasions and it wasn't worth spoiled every time. My daughter took the first one back and got a refund. What really bugs me about this location is that most of the items I buy regularly don't have shelf tag/price labels. Putting items in my cart and having zero idea how much they'll cost at check-out causes me abnormal stress for some reason or other. However, when we checked out and tried to scan the five dollar coupon special, the clerk seemed incredibly annoyed with us for no apparent reason and told us we needed to text it to get the deal, so we did. Right in front of her, we both texted it to each other. I held my phone up and said, "Did you give me that discount?" Harassment and racist undertones towards seniors. I'm a white male retiree, age 66. On Friday, April 14 I purchased some groceries and a couple of bottles of wine for the holiday weekend (Orthodox Easter). At the checkout I was suddenly asked to provide my driver license for scanning. What??? When I asked why and mentioned I'm coming here for years and nobody ever asked me about having to show ID, neither is there to the best of my knowledge any state law that requires that, except when you appear to be in your early 20s, younger then 21. I was told "when you buy alcoholic beverages we have to scan your ID. "It's the law" I said that only need to visually verify the birth date on a legit ID if one appears to be in their early 20s or younger not scanning! (on this day you would have had to be born April 14, 2002 or earlier). I am certainly at age 66 I know I'm not looking like a 20 something-year-old. Unfortunately. But thanks for the "compliment". I was 4th in line I noticed that a black man had purchased some alcoholic beverages but did not see that he handed them over his ID. I said you want to see my Medicare card, (which you can only get after 65), or my government pocket short birth certificate you can look at that but you're not going to "have you scan" my driver license! This is nonsense! There is no such law. The cashier called the manager, a middle-aged black somewhat grumpy lady with an attitude, who measured and sized me up with a dismissive look. I said to her that the alcohol beverage control Board law in California states you have to be over 21 and obviously you can tell that I am well over 21! The manager retorted that they scan everybody under age 40, "it's the law". I asked since when? which law? Show me, quote me the law. as per ABC board all you have to do is look at an ID if you think the person is less than 21 years old. No answer. Since I'm coming here for years to the store I never been asked something like that neither in a bar or restaurant and as a matter fact anywhere else, neither in Vallejo or any other county, town or city i.e. San Francisco. I asked the manager again to please quote me/show me the law that states what she just said "is the law". She gave no answer except that "we scan everyone under 40 and I have to show ID to buy the 2 bottles of wine". I retorted you are now contradicting yourself again! I'm over 65 quite older than 40 quite obviously. Are you making up your own laws? The manager just walked away. The lady behind me in line had earlier offered to purchase the wine for me if I immediately cash reimburse her. The manager intervened and said she cannot do that. This is abusive and harassment of seniors! There is no basis to treat a customer like that! The only rational reason for a request to show ID (not to scan!) is if I were to look like around age 21. If people are that imbecilic ignorami that they cannot tell the difference between, that a white-haired man with wrinkles in his face is older than 21 year old, then they shouldn't run a business were they sell alcoholic beverages and deal with people! Go move to North Korea! FYI: Less than hundred feet away there's a small store. Absolutely love this location. We have base privileges and still come here for some really great deals. We also follow them on Facebook to get the latest promotions. Some of the items are just so interesting that my husband acts like he's at a scavenger hunt, looking for goodies. I love the variety of vegan items for my grandson. We always check expiration dates, just like any other place. Walmart and Safeway have both had moldy items on the shelf, it happens sometimes. TP 2020!, ill mannered store owner!! While waiting to checkout, the 2 ladies in front of us were battling over buying some Scott's Toilet paper. Once they decided to finally buy the TP, some random lady approached them and screeched "who gave you this," while touching the TP. The ladies replied with a confusing look as if saying who you talking too. She was not wearing GO jacket, shirt, or badge to indicate she works there. This random lady happened to finally mention that she was the owner. The store owner again demanded who gave them the TP and where they got it from. The ladies responded appropriately by saying "from an employee, someone that works here." For a third time while preventing them from leaving the owner demands the origin of the luxurious, white, fluffy, cloud-like texture, hot commodity item. Even the cashier was confused as well. She did her job and allowed them 1 precious item per family. The ladies walked away while saying "I already paid for it, so I'm leaving. Someone gave it to me and I'm not getting them in trouble." Then the manager walked away while saying "that was mine." Crazy day at GRocery Outlet. I think this location has better stuff than Vacaville location. I drive miles to go here. I've been coming to this location for several years now and it's not been good the past couple years since the new owners took over. Employees sitting in the aisles all day with replenishment carts taking their sweet time and expecting customers to go around them (daily basis), about only half the store has pricing and signage on stuff (I think they do it on purpose to get people to buy stuff that's overpriced), and now since they had a secret shopper catch an employee selling product to a minor, they scan id's for everyone "under 45". 1) Tonight I went to the store and saw everything had pricing and tags. They were doing inventory was the only reason. If only customers were as important. 2) making customers pay for your id'ng mistake is an additional mistake and approaching unlawful. You are only able to id you think someone is under age and you do not have the right to scan id's if customers do not allow you to. Get your employees trained and in line with the law. New Owners of a few years at Admiral Callahan Lane Grocery Outlet made this store immediately go down hill. Disorganized to start. They hire mostly people of their own race and most of the employees are lazy and no nothing about customer service. The store management is none. Why? Not once weekly I don't have a problem. The majority of this stores problem is not putting out price tags for hundreds of their products. They cram too many products on shelves and in the specialty cheese/ horsdurves refridge section with out prices. I asked a male store re-stocker if I can get a price check and he says to the register yourself. This happened more than once. I have spent hours over time waiting in line at the register to ask for, yes another price check or ask for assistance because the owners have not one person off of a register to help anyone. It's obvious the couple who own this store on only care about lining their pockets with this poorly run business instead of thinking about customers first. Would you run a store business with no one to help customers unless you wait in line to speak to the register clerk. The store employee there that is the worst of all is an African American older women with blonde in her hair. I approached her today and previously with a product add that is false today and label error issues and every time she makes a senseless stupid excuse that has no merit just so she doesn't have to help me. Today the add says 51/60 count shrimp $5.99 tail off. I took a picture of the add sign and made it clear that tge shrimp bag is 1 Ib 5 servings of 3 ounces each. There is no way 51 to 69 shrimp are in that small bag. Her excuse was that the freezer stalk person has been out for 3 days which is a lie just to get rid of me. The bag next to the wrong ad shrimp of 2 lb that was adifferent brand of tail in shrimp said 5l/60 count! Get the picture! Most of this stores items have a very soon expiration date so watch out and many items just have no price at all. So if you want to do business with a store that favors one race and doesn't put on prices in many items along with staff that make excuses to help you on purpose, coupled with no additional staff to help at this location, enjoy! Post Covid I evaluate a store based on how well they keep their employees and customers safe. I used to enjoy this Admiral Callahan ave. store for the wine selection, discounted items, short check out lines and friendly cashiers. Now, however, I'll stay away. Owner Scott walking around store with NO mask sets a bad example. No plexi protection for the cashiers so they are exposed to 18 inches of separation from the customer line all day long. OUTCH! No evidence of wiping down carts, or the charge card machines. (maybe they do at night?) 2 of 3 cashiers have masks on, but they don't cover the nose. Manager Amy chatting on the phone doesn't instruct cashiers to wear a mask properly. This is a leaky boat health wise. Better than some, I suppose, but not good enough. read more

We have been shopping at Grocery outlet for 20+ yrs . We shop at many from south bay to Chico. Lately the stores in Vallejo just fall flat. This location has gotten pricey. We actually do better with many other distributors. On average our spending has decreased from 1000 dollars + per week to if lucky 350 every month. We do much better at other locations such as Gridley, Yuba City, Oakland and Livermore. We have redirected our spending to Sam's or Costco , Winco as most items are more reasonable. This includes organics. If we are out of the area we will try other Grocery Outlets. I prefer to give my dollars to local, family businesses. But, today wr had the rudest manager as a cashier.
