I would never recommend working at this Grocery Outlet. The management treats employees very unfairly and with little respect. Instead of supporting their staff and helping them succeed, they put unrealistic expectations on employees and then punish them when they can't meet them. It creates a toxic and discouraging work environment where people don't feel valued. No one should be treated this way, especially when they are new and still learning. The way the manager handles situations shows a complete lack of professionalism and compassion. Grocery Outlet needs to take a serious look at how their managers treat their teams, because good employees are being driven away. read more

Always my first stop shop before going anywhere else. I like the collection of odds and ends they always have. It's definitely worth at least stopping by once a week to catch anything new products before they're gone. My biggest complaint would be there is NEVER enough check stands open. Maybe it's just me but I'd say a minimum 3+ open at all times. read more

Terrible place to work. If you are thinking of working here I'd recommend QFC right across the street instead. I worked for the night crew for about 5 months and it was my first official job. It only took one week to find out that the night manager was very short tempered and didn't respond well to me asking questions about how to do something, and it didn't seem like I was being trained properly. (This isn't much of a surprise to me now because I figured out from an employee that knows both the owner and this particular manager, that this manager was never actually trained to be a manager, and was basically just handed the job.) On top of all of this I was never told about any policies until I was told that I was violating them, or that I was doing something incorrectly until Shane had already cut my hours and didn't tell me that it was permanent until the next week when I had to walk miles home in the dark and rain because my phone had no service and my ride wasn't coming for another 8 hours. (I quit the next day) The problematic policy was that stockers have to face with both hands. However, there are points in time where you have to use one hand to face such as when you need to hold onto a ladder or when you need to reach in between other products that are close together and when you have to reach behind a pillar and when you can't use both hands to reach something all the way on the back end of the shelf. So when I was told t about it I faced with both hands other than in those scenarios and I figured this would solve the problem because I mentioned this to the Shane and Marry and Marry had said "Yeah we don't want you falling" Referring to holding on to the ladder when facing on it and not addressing the rest of the scenarios. I figured that if there was still a problem that someone would talk to me about it but no Shane just cut my hours as a punishment because him and his manager that was never trained, didn't properly communicate the problem. Another thing that got my hours cut was literally me talking to a coworker even though I was working at the same time. The workers are not told that they can't talk and that same manager has conversations with the staff constantly along with no policy being against communication. Knowing this I made sure that I was only talking while I was getting work done and that I wouldn't get distracted. So my coworker and I were both talking as we ended up working the same few Isles (our pallets both had items for Isle 7&8). And when we went to the bailer it was because our carts were full of cardboard and they needed emptied out. It also wasn't hard to see that on the cameras considering that we both started working that specific isle at the same time and would have filled up our carts also close to the same time. But even though all of this was very obvious, I again never had the alleged problem addressed to me and instead got Wednesday taken off my schedule the following week, in which case in stead of letting me know the same manager let my dad know what I apparently had done wrong and I had to find out through him. If my dad never told me, I would have never even known what the problem was and why that day got taken off. The third and final problem involves what I said earlier about lack of communication and the lack of proper training. The same night that me and that coworker were working the same isles, after I got my pallets done, I was told by the manager to open up things that needed opened up around the store and he told me specifically not to face until I opened things up. Although I was never taught exactly how much to open I saw from how the girl who worked before me and how this same manager did it that the amount of product open should equal at least nearly a full case. At this time, Isle 3 was a complete mess and very clearly needed faced, but since I remembered that I was told not to face, I made sure that everything equaled a full case when faced. After this the manager took me to isle 7 where the spices were and showed me that there wasn't enough spices opened (Whoever faced the spices before that didn't open enough) So I opened the spices and moved down that isle facing since everything else was already opened that needed opened. As I was facing down that same isle, I noticed that my coworker was stocking on the same isle and we started talking as I was still facing and he was still stocking. The manager came and told me I could go, so I assumed it was time to leave already. Then when my coworker was about to go, the manager said "No not you, just him. He's not even doing anything." So even though I was pissed I just told him that I had already opened everything up that needed opened and that I had started facing like he said. Then he said "Isle 9 looks like crap!" So I went back and opened more, then went back to facing. This was again not brought up to me but instead was brought up to my dad after my hours were already cut short (I'm an adult) read more

Need to open restroom back up to customers. You know how many parents have to go shopping with their kids? Who may have a blow out or have to pee while shopping? If I'm spending hundreds of dollars in your store but you can't let me use your restroom for my 6yo for 25 seconds so she doesn't pee herself in your shopping aisle- there's a HUGE problem. Shopped at Grocery Outlets for years and this is FOR SURE reason enough for this mom to never return to one. Plus the girl who I asked for the code (because they have their restroom visible and accessible to public with a code) she said "oh we don't have one" I said "you don't have .. a restroom?" As I gestured to the door I was standing in front of with my 6yo and she smiled and said "not for the public" then turned around and walked away from me. Pretty disgusting behavior if you ask me. read more

We go to our local one fairly regularly, but they don't always have cool stuff. This one does, everytime we stop here, we walk out with rare stuff you can't find anywhere else or at least at a decent price. We found a great haul of usually expensive chocolate today and are super excited to take a small stash home. They also seem to be better stocked than most Grocery Outlets, always a must visit when we are in the area. read more

seriously? This place is terrible!! Racist cashier Cindy, manager dating the owner's daughter doing nothing. The good manager screamed at often, now he's gone, ( he's too old to sleep with the owners kid), always messy. Owners are mean to most employees. Meat is so close to rotting date I got sick off of it. ( didn't think to check in a grocery store and cooked same day). Mayo expired 2 months but still expensive. Stopped in here because I needed a couple things. I decided to cruise the isles to see what fun things I could find. I am Keto so sometimes I can find things here that are super expensive elsewhere. I did find some sugar free gourmet chocolates. I also found some SweetLeaf alternative sugar at a super deal! Greeting cards here are an awesome deal $1.99 each! Wine is a great deal here, I did not see much of a difference in beer prices? The store was nicely stocked. You just have to have the time to search the shelves! I quit buying there as the help is so lax in covid protections..an elderly gentleman working in an issue was pulling can off a shelf and putting them the floor and scooting them with his foot and back on the shelf..his mask was below his nose..another help in an isle had a hankerchief tied around her nose and mouth only. A good place to find rare food and for a good price. This is my first stop when I'm looking for something like chocolate Frosted Flakes that is kinda hard to find. This was my first visit to the chain and I was amazed by how low some of the prices were: Boxes of fair trade organic Keurig coffee for $1 Two boxes of Annie's Organic chocolate chip cookies for $1 Boxes of Annie's GF cookies for...you guessed it $1!!! Honestly, I wasn't terribly impressed by the prices of everything else but their organic and gluten free section was large and crazy cheap. They advertise up to 70% off but the prices I've mentioned are more like 90% off. Nice and clean and friendly service too. read more

My wife and I stopped by tonight for the first time. We have been to many other Grocery Outlet locations, but I was particularly impressed by this one. The prices were on the lower end for a Grocery Outlet. It seems the further south you go, the higher the prices. This Grocery Outlet is competitive with the prices in Mt. Vernon (15ish miles north). The store was very clean, except for (and this is where they lost one star) the aisle of stuff in the middle of the freezer section, which made it impossible to pass when there are people looking if you have a cart. There were also two instances of stockers taking up the whole aisle by using their whole body to lie down in the middle. I have no idea what they were doing, but they were impassible. The place was really busy, but they had enough checkers going to deal with the rush. The check out was friendly and full of smiles. It was nice. Overall, it was a great experience. Watch out, QFC and Haggens! The competition has arrived! And it's flippin' awesome! This is our new "Happy Place" in town. We're in here about four times a week, and each time we've ended up finding stuff at such ridiculously low prices, we'd be crazy not to stock up. They have a pretty huge selection of organic items - none of your "Dinty Moore" crap that used to be found at Grocery Outlets. And the produce is some of the best in town - fresh, clean, in season and prices that can NOT be beat. My only advice - when you see that item you LOVE - buy LOTS! It might not be there next time you go. The good side of that is that each time we go in, it's full of stuff that wasn't there before, making it all seem fresh and interesting. This particular location is clean, bright, easy to navigate and well stocked....did I mention clean? The shopping carts and baskets are gloriously clean, too, because everything's new. I usually detest grocery shopping, because I hate wandering around 50 aisles, each a quarter mile long, looking for walnuts. But this location has everything we need, in about 9 aisles. The staff are pleasant. They don't over do it with "too bright" smiles, but they work fast and efficiently, and everyone has been helpful. All in all, we are incapable of entering this store, and not leaving beaming and happy! I wish I could personally thank the owners for opening up this store right here! Brand new so the place is very clean. Plenty of variety, to die for prices. Don't expect off brands to perform like better know ones (specifically pasta) but be pleasantly surprised when they do. I was at the Stanwood Grocery Outlet several times and the checkers (all women) were very pleasant. Yesterday, July 16, 2019 while I was standing in line a child in another part of the store was committing a loud, physically painful, ear piercing scream. The child screamed for five minutes or more. I commented to the checker that the parent needed to remove their child. No one else should have to listen to this undisciplined child's screaming. The checker, a man, became very defensive of the child and its parent and did not think it was a problem to other customers. When I disagreed with him he told me to stop talking about it or he would not finish checking my groceries. I didn't want to start over again in another check out isle so I stopped talking. When I was ready to leave I saw that he had put my insulated bag with two large blue ice and all my frozen products on top of my expensive leather purse which was crushing the purse. I commented on this to him while moving my purse. He gave me some excuse so feeble I don't remember it. I said two words to him, "Common sense." He became angry and told me, "You can use your common sense to bag your groceries or not come to my store again." (From the beginning of the check out to my last comment I spoke in a calm tone of voice.) I checked his name tag, "Marcus." I asked who the manager was. He told me he was the manager. Finding this hard to believe, I left the store. My parents shopped at Grocery Outlet in Mt. Vernon from the time that store opened. Not once did they have a negative experience. I will shop there from now on. The commute is worth it. read more

This grocery outlet was so anticipated by our small community. I love grocery outlets. Just not this one. Top three reasons why; 1). There's no room to shop! They constantly have an overwhelming amount of product where I need to be at the end of al the check stands you can barely get your cart there let alone aloe another shopper with a cart to pass. There's always lots of boxes of last minute items on the belt when I want to unload and I front of the belt there are stands. 2.)quality of produce and pricing. The produce especially fruit isn't good enough to even pay discount prices on. I shop here to save money and constantly compare prices. Except there are constantly items with no price! 3.) carts,step stools ect. The employees leave out their stocking carts and step stools in the middle of the isle or leaned up against stuff and leave it there. I literally had a step stool fall on me as I rounded a corner. I only go here if I don't feel like going to the Mount Vernon location or the Arlington one. It would be amazing to be able to shop in my own town from a well ran business. Yohanna (don't know if that's the correct spelling) is the only reason I shop here anymore. She is a GEM. Don't let her go! read more
