I've been going to groom n go for at least 2 years. Chelle and the staff are so kind and they love my dog Millie. They have made special accommodations for her (usually you drop them off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon) since she is very "talkative" and isn't used to a crate. They do what's called a "straight through" and do the whole groom at the end of the day (3-5) so she doesn't have to be in the crate at all. This was bc Chelle could see that she wasn't enjoying the crate. Chelle is the owner and is always there, involved in the scheduling and care for your pup. My dog will not let me touch her face and for some reason, let's Stephanie groom her with no problem. Stephanie is our regular groomer and Millie loves her. She always asks me how I am and about my job and always remembers me and Millie. They offer to come in early and stay late to get the job done. Whatever it takes. Such a nice neighborhood spot. My dog doesn't need grooming, but he is absolutely terrified of having his nails clipped. He struggles and howls and tries to escape. Well, his nails had grown quite long and needed clipping. I called for an appt. and was able to get him in the next day. The groomer there that day, Maren, was outstanding. Kind and gentle. David and all the groomers at Groom n Go have been trimming my pets for years. Their care and knowledge, not to mention the wonderful vibe of the place, is one of those great, local Ann Arbor businesses that is worthy of support...it seems to me that they treat each grooming as a potential life-long relationship, rather than just a "one-off" (this is how I have been treated at any other groomer). My dog Frankie (a somewhat scraggly terrier mutt) always gets a trim at GnG that seems to suit his personality, and I would never take him anywhere else...(after I had him trimmed elsewhere in the past, he came home with a shave-down and it didn't seem like any care was taken in his trim.) When you walk in the door, they greet you and your dog by name, and you know they are genuinely delighted to see you. Also, they give the best cut. Even though he's happy to see me when I come to pick him up, and jaunty in his little neck-kerchief when he trots out from the back room, I know he's in safe hands and well-cared for when he's at GnG...they LOVE animals and it really shows. read more

I usually go to another grooming facility and usually have to book out there weeks in advance, as they're popular. However, I really regretted my decision to not bother them about squeezing my dog in and bringing him here instead. Their professionalism was completely horrible. I came in and mentioned to the gentleman there that I couldn't get in with my other groomer and he proceeded to BAD MOUTH them and talk about how incompetent they were. This was so absolutely unprofessional and if I gave him the idea that I was unhappy with my groomer, he interpreted it wrong. Even if I was unhappy, that doesn't mean it's okay to launch a tangent about their inadequacy. It makes you seem arrogant and insecure in your own business. After he was done badmouthing them, I still left my dog there anyway and when I came to pick him up, they charged me a bit more than my regular groomer and didn't really do a very good job - as the little bit of a neaten up I asked for was a full blown uneven trim and my dog was very insecure with the groomer. read more

The dog needed a nail trimmin and this place was within walking distance from my house, so I figured why not!!! Ladies were all extremely caring and loving of my dog. My dog generally hates his nails getting cut, so I was glad that all it took was less than 5 minutes! He was rewarded with a doggie treat afterwards, and I a human treat (Ghiradelli Squares) *************CASH ONLY**************** So I had to run home to get money. We have a Cavalier King Charles spaniel. As you know that first visit is very important since it sets the way your pet will subsequently feel about grooming. I took my girl to a groomer my vet recommended. The groomer gave her a bath but nothing else was given. Expensive bath! Needless to say she still needed paw pads done, anal glands, nails cut, etc. since none of this had been done in visit to the other groomer. I should mention she is 10 months old. I questioned Groom and Go when I called to see what services were included and how they handle a puppy new to grooming. I was assured that all the above was included and they make you prove your pets shots are current. I appreciate that since my pet is healthy and I want her to remain that way after my visit. They also assured me that they take great care in making all dogs feel comfortable and new puppy's get special treatment and as much time as needed to groom them. When I picked up SOPHIE she looked beautiful. Trimmed and happy. Everything they promised they delivered. They also told me her ear was itchy so I should watch it. They routinely go over any concerns or issues they discover with the owner. I appreciate that too. They only accept cash or check but I was told that up front. I am extremely happy with the whole experience and the cost was on the very low end especially for the special attention a new puppy requires. I am not rich, I am retired but the tip I left was well deserved. Even though Groom and Go is farther than comfortable for me I will not take my girl anywhere else! Matti still loves going to GnG East! The same staff is here as in 2011. I can't say enough. When people smile and say that their dog hates getting groomed, I try to tell people that when Matti went to other places, she used to hide underneath me and whimper, but here she is excited and happy to arrive! They really personalize the experience, even for so-called "anxious" dogs. She runs back to the crate area when she sees Chelle and over the years has even given up the theatrics that she used to engage in. Chelle knows so much about different dogs' coats and grooming devices: I was using the standard tools from the pet store and didn't even know one reason Matti hated my brushing her is because the standard tools are not designed for her skin/coat, poor baby! Chelle special-ordered the "brush" for me so I can keep up with the grooming at home, made in US, for Matti's coat that won't hurt her skin & won't damage her hair that is perfect for her double-coat & won't break her hair. I really appreciate that I can set up all of Matti's grooming & brushing a year in advance & keep her & my schedule organized. Of note, the address is now on Industrial. read more

I've been to so many bad dog groomers who nick or scare your dog that I can't remember them all. Freddie actually likes this groomer as they are so kind and call him by name. When I pick him up he's not only clean and beautiful, he's never nicked, and he is mellow. I don't know what they do, but he seems calm and happy, which for this terrier is saying some thing. There are two regular gals with whom I always interact and feel very secure and positive; I'm not as sure of some of the interim help who I only see once, but the grooming seems well-done, kindly and average in price. I came here as a change from my usual groomer, and regretted it. They don't let you stay with your dog, so I explained that my dog is very fearful and could give them a very hard time if i am not there. They assured me they work with many rescue dogs and that it should be fine. I was hoping for a wash and a much-needed brush out and hair cut, but I had to pick her up after a mere bath when they called saying the dog was too stressed to continue. So I ended up paying $25 for a bath that I could have done myself. I got the impression that they are used to well-behaved purebreds. I will stick with Dog-o-mat 2. read more

The groom was good...but way more expensive than it should have been and what i was told it would be ! ... The groomers complained about his crying .. And when I brought him outside it was evident he had not been outside all day , he peed until he was standing in his own puddle ! Then when we got home he drank water for five minutes straight. Good groomers, not perfect. When I'm paying the big bucks to have someone else do my dogs hair, I guess I expect a certain level of perfection. Sometimes my dog stills has little mats in his hair when he comes home. They staff are very nice and my dog is nervous when he arrives but seems cheerful when I pick him up. I continue to use their services despite total happiness because I have a really difficult time even getting though to other places to make an appointment. That process is always easy peasy here and I almost always get in the same week. I appreciate that convenience tremendously. read more

I have an English Cocker Spaniel that isn't too fond of being groomed. I hear it's common for the breed, but I suspect it was made worse by some of his previous groomers. I was surprised that none of them seemed to understand how this breed differs from the more common American Cocker Spaniel. Unfortunately, it took me years of trying groomers in the A2/Ypsi area before I found one that understands this breed's temperament and groom standards. Finally! From my first visit at Groom N Go (East), it was clear this was going to be different. Chelle explained the English Cocker groom standards far better than I could. She understood his temperament and knew how to handle him. I've been taking him there ever since. I just dropped him off this morning for his monthly groom and, as usual, Chelle and Kollyn were ready for him and got him acclimated quickly. When we pick him up later, I'm sure he'll look great as always! No more looking around. We've found the right groomer for our dog. :-) read more

These dog groomers are so very sensitive and kind to abused animals. They were wonderful with our beloved dog Quigley for over 10 years.

If this is place is everyone's definition of the "best" i'd hate to see what else is out there. i found a nick on my dog, and they didnt bother to wash his face. They know how to cut hair but dont now how to style. I couldve gotten the same service at pet smart. if you have a short hair dog then you wont mind but long hair dogs like mine need something extra to make them look spectacular and we didnt get that here. read more

Honestly, they did an awful job. They failed to follow instructions and completely ignored our requests. They shaved our dogs and called it grooming. We hated what they did. We had to live with their butchery for a month before our dogs' hair grew back enough so they even looked like their breed. That's the real problem -- they give a generic haircut. If you want your dog to lose all of its identity, go to Groom N Go. Otherwise stay away. read more

I asked for a schnauzer cut and got it....so far I haven't had a groomers perform this cut properly on our dog (most give the excuse that he has mats..but they didnt) and they even offered to have me come back in a few weeks to show me how to keep up with the coat...I'm happy to say we finally found an excellent groomer (after multiple fails)! Awesome grooming experince! Best place to take your dog! After having a terrible experience at Creature Comfort Grooming at Animal Kingdom I looked online for a highly reviewed grooming salon. I found Groom N' Go, called them and talked to Kollyn and I then shared my experience at Creature Comfort. Kollyn put me at ease immediately saying they can groom any dog without any trouble. I had my appointment yesterday, the ENTIRE staff is very warm and friendly. The owner Chelle came out to welcome me and my dog as well. They gave me a tour of their facility which is very state of the art with a walk in tub and tables that go to the floor so there is no lifting involved. I received a call that my dog was all finished and that he did great! When I arrived to get my dog Kollyn, Chelle, and Jill were all there telling me what a good boy he was. The owner even took pictures and a video to show me how relaxed and well he did. I highly recommend Groom N' Go for the most positive grooming experience in Ann Arbor for your dog. read more

Lots of complaining pet parents here. Many dogs need some kind of sedative before going to a groomer. The staff here are excellent with nervous nellie dogs, but doggy parents need to realize how difficult it must be to groom a dog who is ducking and diving or potentially dangerous under stress. Nicks happen due to this. If you have a nervous dog that you want groomed-- be kind to the animals and humans involved in this process. Dope the pups with vet approved tranqs. I've brought several rescues with crummy dispositions over the years to GnG (for their lifetimes) and they come out looking great. GnG staff actually try to keep positive and never complain about the BS my dogs give them. I was initially turned away by a few places due to my dogs issues. Adopting a "special dog" (behaviorally challenged) can be rewarding but also difficult. GnG makes it all seem like a walk in the park! Thanks Chelle! read more

I've been taking Peanut there for about 4 years now. The staff has always been friendly, professional and courteous. My dog had an accident in the car one day and the staff was gracious enough to clean Peanut up for me and tend to his services while I cleaned my car. They didn't miss a beat.
