Round trip today was perfect, the new van was at section B and on time at airport location. $35 Orlando/Daytona is a reasonable price. Website is clunky. And you can't pull up a daily schedule. Bad business practices. Was to originally leave on Sunday 03/30 from Orlando, and then things changed, and we needed to get home sooner than expected. A medical emergency made us change our plans, and we are leaving from Miami now ( Miami to Milwaukee). Gave plenty of notice 6 days and was told that our ticket was non refundable. What kind of company bills a credit card before you take a trip and keeps your money+ tip. Beware evidently this one does. They said they would hold a credit for up to one year. Used transportation from Orlando to Daytona. I was on time(15 minutes early as requested by Groome) and ready to go. Shuttle was 5-10 late for pick up, not a big problem. Issue was that after taking 10-15 minutes to load everyone up (only like 5 of us, so still took longer than needed), we left the terminal to then make a 5-10 min backtrack to pick up someone else and the same exact spot. Ended up getting to Daytona 20-30 minutes later than we should have. I'll likely take an uber next time. read more

My experience with Groome Transportation was not good. My flight into Orlando was delayed. I went straight to luggage and then to the Groome Transportation pick up location. My trip to Daytona did not show up or call me. I stayed on the line to Groome for over a hour, no one would answer my call. Only connected with a recording over and over. Finally a driver showed up for The Villages. I asked the driver about the Daytona Van. He said one would be there in five minutes. I waited over an hour. Then I tried to rent a car, none available without reservation. Taxi or Uber was $200 one way. So I called a friend to come to Orlando from Daytona. My trip home took 24 hours. Very disappointed. I paid extra for pick up and drop off. I was told that my pick up would be 4:30 am. Driver arrived at 5:10 am. Then drove all the way back to their office to pick up others. On my return flight, driver was late again by 40 minutes. Several people were dropped off at their home, but once again the shuttle went back to the office. My husband paid several months in advance for pickup from the airport, for the driver to not show up at all. Of course, since this is a drive service, we waited patiently for 15 minutes and after no calls or emails. So finally we called to see where the driver was, and the dispatcher told us the driver waited for us but we were not there. We had been waiting in the correct place for over an hour already. So, since it had only been 15 minutes my husband ask to speak to the driver. After being placed on hold for another 10 minutes we were told the driver was already at the Orlando airport. Meaning the driver managed to go from Sanford to Orlando in 25 minutes which is in possible --and if the driver had shown up and actually waited like the dispatcher had claimed that would have actually been a 10-15 minute drive from Sanford to Orlando. They did say they would send another driver and that second driver would be there an hour later than the original pick up time. So we proceeded to wait and again no driver at the time the dispatcher stated. Since the dispatcher had clearly already lied to us two times, I video taped the fact that the driver actually wasn't there and called again. This time the dispatcher stated the driver is in the way and will be there in 5 minutes. And of course because of the first two lies I asked if they can guarantee that and if they are looking at the gps right now. And again she stated 5 minutes. After waiting an additional 20 minutes the driver did show up and explained the truth that they had not actually come there was a technical error and they forgot to add us to the schedule. Frankly, if the dispatcher had said that and not lied to us a total of three times now, we would not be so livid. Originally, I was going to complain to the corporate office but when trying to look for the complaint center Google stated this happens all the time and they still refuse the people they leave refunds and will only credit you. Groome Transportation was a complete nightmare. I booked a ride from MCO to DeLand and ended up going to their other pickup location. I called dispatch to ask if it was okay to switch pickup location, and the dispatcher said yes. I even got a confirmation text saying I would be picked up at that new location. I waited over an hour and a half and asked multiple Groome drivers as they pulled up if they were going to my destination. None of them were. I kept calling dispatch, told them exactly where I was, and they repeatedly said the driver was on the way. Then I got a text saying the driver was there. I texted back saying, "I'm here, and I don't see you" and I never got a response. The driver still never showed up. When I called the same number again, this time someone from Daytona picked up. She told me the dispatcher was working by herself on a busy Sunday, which is completely unacceptable for an airport like MCO. I want to be clear, I do not blame the dispatcher if that is true because that is way too much work for one person. That is on the company. I explained everything that happened, and I was still blamed and told it was my fault because I switched locations, even though they admitted I called multiple times and was told it was fine. Then I was told I cannot get a refund until Monday when I can call and speak to a manager. This was such a waste of a day. Absolute worst and after reading the past reviews, I can understand why I've used this transportation other times without a glitch this time, I waited three hours after a 10 hour flight from South America. Called dispatch in Daytona and she didn't even know the correct pick up time. Finally, they showed up & Driver was OK at first, but way too many stops, between waiting for the shuttle and getting to my destination it was like five hours that's not exactly a business model with any sustainability. After all that when I finally get to my destination, the driver had dropped my bags in a "puddle" at the stop before circle K in Debary, and nonchalantly dismissed it as gravity and shit happens. Didn't even tell me, I was like why are my bags all wet?! Unapologetic about it and rude, absolutely unacceptable unprofessional behavior by driver Felisa. I came across Groome when looking for a shuttle service from Orlando airtport (MCO) to Daytona. It was a much better deal than Uber or Lyft. Basically it was a shuttle bus that also ran from a couple of other points including Sanford Airport. Since my arriving flight was delayed by weather, they automatically rescheduled to pick me up at the airport when the flight was delayed. I'm glad they did because sometimes the hold times to call them was upward of 15 minutes. The shuttle buses were pretty clean, and the ride was smooth. The drivers to and fro were courteous, and the driver heading to my hotel pointed out a few spots to check out along the Daytona Beach strip. Other than the long hold times, the only complaint is I would have preferred music on the ride. It might have been more relaxing instead of a passenger who got overly political and trying to engage everyone in conversation when I was trying to nap and relax after a delayed flight. read more

I've used this company on a number of occasions and have ran in to multiple issues. The last time I use them on 10/24 in Daytona Beach to go to Sanford airport, I was deporting the shuttle at Sanford and a 95 year old woman sitting in the back wanted to take my seat in the front where it was more comfortable. I asked the driver if she was going to help her move to the front. She replied, no she'll be all right. She was not all right! She could barely move much less get around the seats in front of her. So I helped her myself before I got off to ensure she wouldn't hurt herself. As I want to get my luggage off the shuttle, I was distracted by then and forgot my backpack, which held all of my medications (diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, nerve pain for neck and back, and others that were equally important. And also the dressing for my leg I had recently been in a car accident for and was badly injured and needed the dressing changed at least daily or more.) as I walked into the airport I realized just as she was pulling away I did not have it. Mind you, I am elder myself almost 70. I immediately called to ask them to have her bring it back. She could not have been any more than two blocks away. They would not do it, they absolutely refused. So I want to customer service at the airport, and the young man there called groom and Daytona and I asked to speak to one of the customers who were to be on the next shuttle to Sanford airport. He asked them to drop the bag off when they came, as groom would not do it it is against their policy to walk into the airport. Even though they had no problem with a policy that allowed a 95-year-old woman to try to get herself all the way from the back of the shuttle to the front, because the driver was too lazy and didn't care enough to help her! So the customer brought it to the airport and dropped it off inside the door at customer service. Then the young man sent it to my daughter's house in Texas via FedEx, as I had to leave on my flight before groom could get there. They could have cared less whether I was without the bag with all my medicine in it or not. It was not their concern at all! It ended up costing me $125 to have it sent FedEx to my daughters house, and it took the whole week getting there. So I was without the medicine for all but one day that I was there. This company does not care about anybody! But yeah boy! They have their mitts out for their monies and their tips! They won't ever see another dime from me! I don't deal with people who have no humanity in them whatsoever! I'd rather walk or pay an Uber $250 than to use them ever again! On a separate occasion around a year before this incident. I had a reservation to use them for the same trip, from Daytona to Sanford Florida. The day before I was to take the shuttle to the airport they called me from Georgia where apparently one of their offices are to cancel the trip. I was flabbergasted! I could not believe that was all the notice they were giving me! They said it was because of the pandemic lolol. The pandemic was all over with! It had happened two years before that! The likes of this place I have never seen! Pathetic! No better word to describe it! We were told to get to the Transport 15 minutes early. We did. An hour and a half later they finally showed. That's after five phone calls to them, each time we were told something different. When the driver finally picked us up, she said she doesn't even begin work until 5 PM, so us getting there at 3:45 PM was ridiculous. There was no communication. Where do I start. Call an Uber. Drivers miss stops leaving passengers waiting for the next pick-up, even if you arrive 10 minutes early.

I only have experience with this company on the customer service end as we ended up not using them. We ended up switching from the Holiday Inn (very disappointed in that hotel) to the Hilton. When we tried to switch our pickup to the Hilton, the person on the phone said the system won't allow it, and his solution was to get a ride to their Daytona office, and they'll gladly bring us to the airport. Let that sink in. We had to get a ride with all 5 of us, 2 elderly people, and a child with 7 suitcases and a stroller, meaning we'd have to load up, unload, and load up again just to get to the airport. I found an alternative, and wanted to cancel the reservation. The next person I spoke to the day before we left, Bob, was new, but tried to work with us. He understood the predicament, and told us he'd reach out to his manager to make an exception in our case for a full refund. However, the manager never called me back. I called back, and got another lady, whose name I didn't get. She said under no circumstances will I be granted a refund. I asked if she can at least change my location to the Hilton, and she said she can't because the system won't allow her, and it's now less than 24 hours before pickup. This was utterly ridiculous because the email says reservations need to be modified before 11:59 the day before pickup, which I was still within, and I began this conversation long before her time frame. I asked to speak with a manager, and she said there are no managers on call over the weekend, which completely contradicted what Bob said earlier. I got a text with my pickup time at the Holiday Inn, which I responded to cancel. What a joke! I was going to pay $270 to get picked up at a location we were no longer at? And then they would just keep the money because the credit is only good for a year which I don't foresee us traveling to any location that Groome services. Today, I spoke to Roy, the main dispatcher. He was very understanding of the situation, and promised to speak with his manager. I didn't hear back, but when I called back, Roy looked over the case, and said our refund was granted. It was quite a headache, but once I got in touch with Roy, I received excellent customer service. One of the issues with the company is the Daytona office is short-staffed so many calls get rerouted to the villages in Central Florida, where they don't have any authority. You have to keep calling back if you're on hold for more than 30 seconds to make sure you get someone in the Daytona office. If you get through, ask for Roy. He knows what he's doing, and he's willing to work with you. He was great! I rate the company 2 out of 5 for all the headaches. Roy is 5 out of 5. read more

I scheduled a pick up for my son and he showed up for a set pick up time. There was a woman at the counter who didn't engage with any of the passengers as he waited in the lobby for the driver to arrive. After waiting 20 minutes past the scheduled pick up time my son asked the women when the driver would be there. She said soon. My son expressed concern about getting to the airport to catch his flight and she told him to call an Uber! She was extremely rude and unprofessional. The driver finally arrived 35 minutes past the scheduled pick up time. I reached out to Groome and they apologized and said I'd get a refund. That was a week ago. I've been using Groome transportation for years and multiple times a year. I live in NY but I am from Daytona Beach Shores and visit my parents frequently but my dad is too old to be driving me and my my mom had a stroke. I hate asking for friends for rides but after last night that will change. Last night, in the middle of the night with no traffic, it took them almost 3.5 hours to get me to my stop. It took longer than my flight from NY to Orlando to drive me from Orlando to Port Orange. Everyone on the shuttle, including the driver, were upset by the amount of stops we had to do. I was originally scheduled to be picked up at 11:55 PM. the driver called me at 11:06 PM to see if myself and another passenger were already there. We got on two min later from Terminal C. We stop at Terminal A & B. It is now around midnight so about an hour just picking up from the terminals At MCO. We then stop at Sanford Airport. Then DeLand. Then for some reason we stop in Palm Coast. We are still not even in Daytona. It is now 1:30 AM and I am in Palm Coast. If we had to go to Palm Coast that should have happened after going to the main office in Daytona and to Port Orange or it should have occurred on a different shuttle. Once in Palm Coast, everyone on the shuttle is openly upset. The driver, who is also exhausted, apologizes to everyone despite the fact be didn't create this baffling schedule. By the time we get to the main office it is now around 2:00 AM. So everyone has been stuck on this shuttle stuck in a seated position for three hours and no access to a bathroom. The shuttle driver has been driving with no break for obviously even longer than that. I finally get to my station in Port Orange at 2:30 AM. I was the first stop for pick up and the last stop for drop off. The driver apologized to me and told I told him it wasn't his fault, as it was not his fault but it is the fault of whoever made this schedule. Now I know there are sometimes other stops besides my own but that was too many and all of them are out of the way. It was quite frankly inhumane to have us all sitting there for 3 hours like that and this was the middle of the night with no traffic. It was unaccetable to drag us along to all these pit stops. How long would it had taken during rush hour Orlando traffic? If this is the new expectation of how long it will take me get home after already flying right before then I will just pay my friends to pick me up. read more

I've used Groome for at least a decade, off and on. My last trip was a nightmare. The ppl in the Office were atrocious. The older woman with short gray hair ignored me when I walked in, then she got up and went out back. The bearded guy told me I could not park on concrete lot {which is where I have always parked, FYI}. So, I go move my car. Then he tells me "someone is late to pull in front of locked gate and wait for them} A few min later he comes down, smoking and complaining, unlocks the gate and walks off. Mind you this Lot is all Grass. Unkept, tall grass. Had to walk through this wet grass with my Luggage and this guy stood back on other side of this Gate SMOKING. Never offered any assistance with luggage. NOTHING. The Office was dark, dirty looking and overcrowded. Inside there were some 'sketchy' ppl waiting. One oriental lady with a dirty white dog in a stroller, which she proceeds to take out and hold and put in floor. When time to Board she doesn't have a carrier and the guy from inside comes out to Van and tells her it has to be in a carrier the entire time. She gets out, goes to back of van and pulls out some worn out carrier and NEVER puts this nasty dog in it. It also barks most of the trip. At a stop in Deland {I think it was} Driver picks up an old woman with a small dog in a quilt. She has NO Carrier and the Van driver said nothing. She tries to get to back of van where there are already 2 men and a woman. Bench seat was full! One guy tells her {as he did other lady he's highly allergic to dogs} and she says, "where am I supposed to sit!" Someone said, "the empty front passenger seat" and told her she needed to put the dog in a carrier. She got argumentative with other riders stating, "my dog travels more than you do and has never been in a crate". Not one time does the Van driver, {Leon} tell either of them to put these stinking dogs in a carrier! This driver was also asking that lady in passenger seat for directions. DO THEY NOT KNOW HOW TO GET TO ORLANDO AIRPORT? The VAN was filthy. I used Lysol wipes to clean the armrest and cupholder. {I do have photos of that and the nasty dog.} This USED to be the Best Shuttle around! Now, you're hiring rude, unkept ppl. Prepaid for a shuttle then found out I didn't need the shuttle. When I looked into cancelling the ride 4 days ahead of the trip, I was told they don't refund for cancellation. Instead they credit your account and give you a year to use it. I don't usually travel to places where I would need their service. So, I guess I'm out $90. What a scam. I would not recommend using this service from the airport. My flight was delayed and got in a few minutes before 5pm- which was when my reservation for Groome was. While I was flying my wife repeatedly called them to try to update my situation and let them know I was running a few minutes late. no one ever answered and by the time I got to where I was supposed to meet the shuttle. at 5:10 they had already left and rescheduled me for a 7:25 pickup. This is after they called me at 6am for the day I was going to the airport- when it was scheduled for 6:45am. The dispatcher said that the driver was ahead of schedule and asked if I could get there within 10minutes to help accommodate- which I did. but they can't wait 10 minutes for a customer for 10 minutes and you have no way of communicating with them. Not only did I have to cross the median to avoid a car accident but there was a child in the car. This person was reckless on the road. I missed the shuttle I was scheduled to be on because my flight was delayed. I called when I landed and was put on the next shuttle. I did have to wait an hour and the shuttle was completely full! I think they should add to their fleet and run more often. read more
